Very pleasant, casual, clean rather fast dining experience. There are so many choices in the area and we randomly chose this.
Like everything, prices have gone up....not their fault....just what it is.

JBC Rice Noodles Ramen & Dumplings is a casual, clean restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and nice decor without being overboard. The restaurant offers plenty of seating and does not skimp on portions. The menu has a ton of different soup and topping options, making return visits worth it. Reviewers mention the scallion pancake, soup dumplings, crab Rangoon, spicy ground beef over noodles, soy marinated boiled egg, veg mushroom soup rice noodles bowl, original bone broth noodles, mala soup noodles, lemon jasmine tea, peach oolong lemon tea, black truffle soup dumplings, and peach oolong milk tea hot/cold.
The spicy ground beef over noodles was spicier than expected but the good kind of spicy that didn't take away from the flavors, and the egg was a quiet standout, rich and flavorful. The scallion pancakes were wonderfully crispy, a simple dish but a satisfying one. The bone broth has an excellent flavor with a slight creaminess that bone broth should have. The black truffle soup dumplings were amazing and stood out. The staff was very careful to help rule out dishes that may have been meat/fish based for strict vegetarians. The restaurant has a $20 lunch special which includes a soup noodle and a fruit/milk tea or appetizer. Prices have gone up, but pricing was thought to be pretty darn fair. It is one of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood without having to go all the way to Flushing. For soup dumplings in Astoria, this is the place to go.
