“Craving Cacio e Pepe tonight, I decided to drop by Sotto La Luna for takeout. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Francesca, one of the owners, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She suggested that I dine in at the bar, and I’m so glad I took her advice.

Sitting by the bar gave me a front-row seat to the culinary magic happening in the kitchen. Watching the chefs expertly prepare their pasta dishes was a delightful experience, and the ambiance of the restaurant only enhanced the experience. The decor is tasteful, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere.

As for the food, my Cacio e Pepe was served directly from a cheese wheel—an indulgent touch that made the dish all the more delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care that goes into the food here.

The service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring I had everything I needed. I’ll definitely be returning with friends to explore more of the menu. Sotto La Luna is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, offering exceptional food and a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!”

“I recently visited Avenue restobar and had an outstanding experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a night out or a relaxed evening. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious drinks and dishes.

What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. The manager goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and taken care of. The bartender is incredibly skilled and crafted some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly made the night special.

“It’s mostly a takeout place. They do have a few booths and Soccer on the TV, but the real draw is the food. The chicken enchiladas were great and my girlfriend really enjoyed her pork chops. It’s clear the staff here are trying hard and it shows. I would say the grilled meats are much better than average. The chicken in my enchilada was grilled, which gave it a much better flavor than I normally get with chicken enchiladas. You can see the presentation is also nice and the portions were large.”

“We were impressed with the food and service here. This is one of those places we'd walked by a hundred times and always said "we should check that place out one of these days". We finally did and liked it a lot. Nice bar and restaurant with a good menu with plenty of options, some with a Cajun flare.
We ordered the Q18 Burger (half ground beef half ground bacon), the Shrimp Poboy, the Mexican style corn on the cob and half a dozen chicken wings with mild buffalo sauce (they make all of there own sauces so we thought we'd play it safe on the first run). Everything was really good and we were very impressed with the wings. My wife mentioned that this is her new "wing place" so that's that. The burger was good and the poboy could have used a couple more shrimp, but was otherwise good too. The fries, both regular and sweet potato, were crispy and very hot. The wings were crispy under the sauce and I would call their spice level normal so the mild definitely had some heat but didn't get my head sweating.
Pretty lively bottled and draft beer list as well as some wine and cocktails which we didn't explore this visit. Several flat screens with various games on for the sports fans and the place was quiet enough to have a conversation without raising your voice much. The bathroom was clean and nice enough.
Our waitress Caitlin (sp?) was super friendly and fun and we didn't have any problems with our food or anything else. Very nice friendly local vibe here and we'll certainly be back to try more of the menu.

It's a small place and the counter is near the door, they see the customers walk in and still remain silent like you're not even there.”

8/21 - Stopped in after hot yoga. Peanut paradise breeze was delicious. Service was also great. Bumping up rating for service from 4 to 5 stars. Based off the combined visits experience.
9/15 Came after yoga again. I was feeling a smoothie on the icey side. With a cup made to keep it cool.”

“Came here to try the new chicken strips. Compared to my previous experience trying the strips, this experience was slightly better. The strips were juicy and warm, but were poorly battered. Since the flavor comes from the batter, they missed the mark here in that regard. The strips were not as crispy, a bit soggy, but the fries were the star. Very crunch, hot, well-seasoned and fresh. My order was ready fairly quick, I placed my order online just a few minutes prior to arriving. The staff were friendly and quick in getting me my order before the next person on line placed their order. The dinning area was clean and seems well-maintained. The staff here were friendly and accommodating.”

The only downside is the amount of homeless and/or addicts who come and sometimes sleep on the seats or beg for change. And I asked for a tarama -my starting point for any Greek meal and lemon potatoes, another favorite of mine. The veal was tender and delicious and tarama along with warm bread was very tasty. Gregory's Corner is perhaps one the best small taverna in Astoria. What they lack in choices on the menu, they make up in service. The waitress who took our order was really on point and gave us solid recommendations. Gregory's is a nice cozy spot with a truly Mediterranean feel. The tables are well-spaced, and the decor is bright and breezy. Outside the restaurant is a little hard to make out up the street and is covered with too much foliage. The entrance is not clearly marked. Inside you can hear the waitress and owner arguing and speaking in Greek. It got a little intence at times, but was fun”
