“This is a hidden gem in the middle of Astoria. The restaurant is downstairs. I came here with a big group for a family style dinner. I highly recommend the gnocchi, the kielbasa style sausage and the broccoli rabe. The grilled whole Branzino was delicious. Oh and the blintzes with fruit jam was good too. It was very affordable and the service was great.“
“wanted to check out a speakeasy while in town and came across the newsroom on tiktok, due to their “stuff your own empanada experience”. nestled in a quiet area of queens, with easy access.lovely speakeasy ambiance with an aerialist performer & live vocal performances. the music they play is all jazzy covers of hit songs, so it fits the vibe so well.the empanadas and the filet mignon taquitos, were so tasteful and delicious.they give you a very decent amount of time to be there, in order to make room for more people. our server Alberto couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our preferences & needs while there.would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back speakeasy outside of the hustle and bustle of the major city or times square.“
“Wow… it’s rare that I can’t find words to describe how amazing a place is. We were a group of 5 and decided to share multiple plates: mantia, village salad, mixed platter, tave dheu, qofte, chicken soup, & trileçe (dessert). Each platter had a unique, delicious taste. The kind of taste that makes you close your eyes and teleports you somewhere else. The ambiance was so relaxing and I loved the Albanian music in the background (traditional decor, etc). The service was great, so attentive, and every server that stopped by our table made us feel spoiled and taken care of.This place may be pricey or have small portions for some but for the quality of each ingredient and plate I think it was 100% worth it. This is an experience, not just food.“
“I came here on a double date with friends last Friday night and everything was absolutely phenomenal!! From the delicious food and drinks, to the friendly service and cozy ambiance, this neighborhood gem is now my favorite restaurant in all of Carroll Gardens. Will definitely be coming back again soon and recommending this place to everyone I know :) also had escargot for the first time ever and it was delicious. Everything was just amazing, I was honestly left speechless.“
“We had steak and pork chops. They were very very good, especially at that price point. The best steak in nyc? Of course not. But for a lovely neighborhood spot, it was far in excess of our expectations. The restaurant is pleasant to be in. The cocktails were also first rate. Honestly I had my doubts, but if you live in the area (cobble hill, Carroll guns, the heights, etc) you should be going here. We will certainly be returning.“
“My friend and I enjoyed our steak and bœuf bourguignon with ample sauce, and Moussa easily allowed us to change the vegetables on the menu to some others that we preferred. As always, we enjoyed our fabulous French food. C'était un repas magnifique! Karina“
“This restaurant's food amazing, every bite is better than the last one. Staff is so personable and makes you feel like you're having dinner at a well welcome friends place. Definitely a spot that is not t well known, but should be, I will go here anyday anytime, it's heaven on a plate!“
“A lovely Croatian restaurant! The Istrian gnocchi was incredibly indulgent. Soft and chewy gnocchi bathed in luxurious cheese. The burek was so light and crispy, baked to a perfect golden brown with creamy cheese filling. The cevapi was meaty and flavorful. I couldn't get enough of them! The Zito cake was surprisingly good. Not overly sweet, nutty, and creamy. Really enjoyed its sticky, soft, and silky mouthfeel!“
“Cute little restaurant with very limited seats, they take outstanding local quality ingredients and beautify them with unexpected yet delicious and perfectly executed associations. And on top of it they have a great wine list, ask for their recommendation, they know what they do and they’ll recommend something to please you. This is the type of place you want to keep for yourself because it’s just so good, but the time behind that little gem deserves to be known ! I had an amazing time, I’ll be back for a date night with my husband, a quality time with my best friend or even with a larger group to celebrate!“
“Jan 2024 update: this place has become one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city and I've lived here for four decades. Every time I go (lost count now) and everyone I bring absolutely loves loves loves the food. Cannot recommend enough! ?My Georgian friend says this is the best Georgian in the city. What a gem, not just for the neighborhood but for the whole city. Literally everything on the menu is delicious -- between my friends and I we shared everything and everyone was in heaven! The staff is super friendly, and the space is nicely done, very tastefully decorated and impeccably clean -- between the sidewalk space, the backyard, and the main room, the place is spacious despite its unassuming street presence. A good friend of mine raved about the food after returning from Georgia and now I totally see why, wow.“
“Went there for lunch and really enjoyed! Beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious food and great drinks followed by friendly and professional staff..International cuisine menu and if you are lover of Balkan food than definitely is best in NYC!! beans soup and mix grilled meat were amazing! Can't wait to come again!“
“Brazilian/Portuguese fine dining experience. I m glad I chose this place. It was magical. It was stunning. Amazing team work from top to bottom. It was open kitchen and that was something I really enjoyed. It was always interesting to witness everyone worked together as a team. Anyway I have to point it out that our server really listened. Navy terms, we call it "attention to details." Special occasion details were not provided when the reservation was made. Yet he figured out the special occasion and improvised accordingly. A surprising treat was served at the end of the dinner. It was like something you would see from a TV show. For the food, the tasting menu was a symphony. A roller coaster ? I would say. The transitions of the flavor from mild to strong and strong to mild were just beautiful. Bravo to the chef. Thoughtfulness was what it was. In my opinion, Some courses were Japanese culture influenced but reconstruted with Brazilian flavored and modern techniques. They were just amazing. Art within art. The collaboration with Toma-L, a renowned painter from France, was a brilliant ideal. It took the dining experience to a whole new level. It is subjective, but I think I had the best dining experience ever. I really enjoyed it.“
“Probably one of the best food experiences I had in the city. Food is wonderful, original, and fresh. Chef is great, and overall just a wonderful evening of fine dining done right, not stuffy but very very high level. I cannot recommend Reverence enough.“
“We were greeted with a glass of rose wine, nice touch. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, the food was time properly. Our waitress was very attentive and on point. Food was decent, presentation acceptable. The table was set up nice and kept clean, service was very good and that made our anniversary a very good one.“
“Isabella and Alfredo created a very unique establishment where its patrons will feel the vibe of visiting a friend's house for dinner rather than a restaurant. The ambiance is very eclectic, cozy and welcoming. You can tell the decor was hand picked by the owners and each individual piece tells a story, including the name which the owners were kind enough to share with us. Isabella's menu delivers Hungariarian flavor with a touch of Balkan spin, creating a rare feast for your tastebuds. The dishes are mouth watering, well cooked and flavorful. Many thanks to my fellow fine watch connoisseur, who's name I cant remember, my appologies. We really enjoyed our time there, the food and the friendliness of the owners are second to none!“
“This was my first time in this eatery and i did not know what to expect. I also never had a burek before so i was excited to try it at this establishment. Upon entry the ambiance is a nice laid back chill cafe with plenty of seating and nice lighting. The service was at the front where you place your order. Since it was my first time, the staff helped navigate me into the traditional meat burek and a nice peach juice drink made from an albanian company.it was delicious and very affordable. I bought a slice and it was enough to feed two people! I will come back here again absolutely and try the other items in the menu! Thanks for the nice food and friendly service A+“
“Wow the food was DELICIOUS! We had the ground beef byrek and tave elbasani, they were both really really good. The food was fresy made to order (except for the byrek but that's pretty normal), the yoghurt in elbasani tasted like handmade yoghurt that my father used to make. Everything was superb, service was great. Would definitely come back“
“The food is amazing go give it a try totally worth it. The vibe and feel is like no other, please don't write it off. 10/10 and you should be always getting the best service by the waiters, all of them work hard to make your experience much more greater.“
“Waffles all day, every day! The West Village’s best breakfast at any time—fabulous homemade waffles and the crispiest bacon ever with your choice of wines—served by friendly servers in covid-sensitive outdoor, light-filled cottage. Why we love Oscar’s Place—thanks Neal & staff!“
“Great food at a reasonable price, but the Belgian beer selection is second-to-none and the staff are super friendly couldn't have been more hospitable. I'd recommend going back over a few evenings to try their different beers, rather than trying to sample them all in one evening like I did though!“
“One of my favorite wine bars on the UWS! Very cute and cozy interior without feeling too cramped. Good and reasonably priced glasses, one of my personal favorites is the dry riesling. Service is always great and the food options are fun and delicious.“
“I loved this spot. Having visited Serbia last year, I was missing the food from the region - and Kafana delivered. It’s a got a small cozy vibe and the server was great. We started with some complimentary bread with some traditional red pepper paste which was excellent. For food, we started with cevapi - every country in the Balkans has their variation on these - and they were excellent. The star of the night though was the schnitzel - which was rolled veal with ham and cheese inside and a thin layer of bread, almost like a savory strudel. Delicious! We’d started with beers prior so continued with a local one here but they have a lengthy menu of regional wines which I look forward to exploring on a future visit.“
“Came by here for a light dinner and drinks Friday night. This is right by Wallsé, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The decor is really cute with din lighting and framed artwork all around. We ordered a few dishes to share and a cocktail each. I would say the dishes are maybe like 3/4 size of a normal entree so more of an appetizer or lounge. The food came by really quick. Some of my favorites:-krainerwurst: really meaty sausages with a great mustard to dip in, super great flavor-Apple strudel: the strudel was so crispy and flaky, there's a slight liquor undertone that balanced well with the sweetness of the apple-Pretzels: they have the best pretzels, it's so soft and the sauce it comes with is so good too!Had a lot of fun, would recommend this spot for a casual date night before dinner in downtown nyc.For a full video recap, check out my Insta: alice.likes.food“
“BEST BEST BEST pierogies in ALL the land. DO NOT SLEEP ON THISBACON POTATO ~ BOILED + CARMELIZED ONIONS + SOUR CREAM WITH CHIVES. YOU WILL NOT REGRET.Everything here is made with tender loving care. Home-grown family recipes and with baba’s love from the mother land. OG Baba seriously used to work away in this kitchen. Family-owned and the owners are so caring and loving. They’ve put all their heart and pride into this small business.Despite Covid, drastic neighborhood changes, the usual gowanus drama/infrastructure challenges, and their own lives, Baba’s has done everything soo proper. It’s impressive how they’ve evolved with the times in an old school neighborhood, offering easy take out and online ordering, while keeping an intimate vibe and customer connections.I also appreciate their fast-casual concept, so you can get in-and-out in reasonable time - but still always feels warm and welcoming inside.Yeah sorry but, Veselka who? BABA’S IS WHERE IT’S AT. HEED THESE WORDS !“
“Entering Mishka transports you into another realm. The densely packed knickknacks, chandeliers, velvet upholstery, and plants instantly notify you that you have not entered a restaurant, as you supposed, but an antique shop; or possibly your grandmother's apartment. The service is phenomenal. The food, abysmal. To be fair I'm not really an eastern European food enjoyer, but some dishes were definitely not supposed to be cold. It's all made up for by the mesmerizing display. An endless stream of gold bars, stacks of cash, money spitting out of printers, diamonds cascading into a pile, and on, and on.Please visit this establishment. You will not be disappointed.“
“I was so impressed by Peacock Gourmet's delivery service and delicious food. The price is very reasonable and the meals we ordered were impressive. Very happy we tried them out. Was a nice and romantic treat having a small baby and not being able to leave in the evenings.“
“A lovely restaurant with a romantic patio, an interesting & inventive menu & an extensive wine list. Our food was delicious; service was attentive & prices comparable to other restaurants in the area. We had the pre-fixe Theatre menu and were very pleased with our selections. I highly recommend this restaurant for pre-or after theater, dinner, bites or just drinks at the bar.“
“We arrived a bit early for our 7pm reservation and were taken to our table fairly quickly. The staff were all very friendly, informative on the menu, and professional. The aesthetics are lovey; including the fresh flowers in the window still, bathrooms and all the dining room tables. The food was excellent. My mom loved the grapefruit Austrian beer & I enjoyed one of the Austrian dry white wines in the photo. The butternut squash soup is a must & dairy free (made of coconut milk). My mom & sister got the organic chicken and I got the cod, which was cooked perfectly & the sauces & veggies paired so well with it. The atmosphere is not too quiet and not too loud, just right. Would definitely return to bring friends here and try some other items on the menu!“
“In my opinion a hidden gem in east village! The restaurant is very intimate and perfect for any occasion. Service is amazing and friendly! Highly highly recommend coming for Thursday dinner where they have a 3 course meal with unlimited wine for $60 per person! Super worth and we loved the wine choices. Reservations definitely recommended!“
“As the Gaby Brasserie Française was right next to our hotel, we decided to have breakfast there and didn't regret it for a second! The food was incredible and the service even more incredible which is why we decided to eat there for the rest of the days. Dhoz and Benny from the service put a smile on our faces every day. The breakfast and seeing them was our highlight of the day. Thank you so much for everything! such great food paired with this incredible service is very rare to find!“
“very nice place. The service is very friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and nicely served. Polish cuisine, but cholesterol and fat are limited, so those who are low on calories will find something for themselves. I ordered pumpkin soup - great, and also salmon, which was also... good. I recommend. You can also have a drink, but I don't. I drink alcohol and I won't help you with the choice. Enjoy your meal.“
“Best Albanian Restaurant in NY! Every time my husband and i visit NY from FL we not only make it a priority to enjoy lunch there but we call a few days in advance and order Sausage to take back home with us! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Always a great experience! Just make sure you have cash on you! Arthur Ave only likes cash, cash is king????????“
“This place offers very authentic Eastern European food. We tried several appetizers, Turkish coffee, and desserts. The flavors were truly authentic, and the prices were reasonable. If you're looking to experience Eastern European cuisine, this restaurant is a great choice. Additionally, there are some grocery stores nearby selling Eastern European cheeses, sausages, and snacks, allowing you to continue savoring the flavors of Eastern European cuisine and various ethnic dishes at home.“
“Fun massive beer hall to watch sports, with a slightly more vibey side bar with top 40 music playing.Food is decent but too overpriced for portion sizes - any of the pubs around (like White Star, Hudson Hound, O'Haras etc) would be a better choice for good quality food. But come here on GameDay for the social aspect.Ps - homemade donuts were delish though!“
“I have been coming here for nearly 50 years. Haven't been in awhile since they changed their hours. I use to come at 12 during the week. Always had soup and pierogis. The food is consistent, fresh and delicious. Coffee fabulous. Service can be slow if it's busy. I miss their food. Dear Owners, please consider restoring your hours.Vegetarian options: Some soups“
“For the prices the food could have been better. Other than that the show was great. It was worth the experience. Drinks were on point. Would love to go again for the drinks and show.Parking: Its NY. There was no parking.Kid-friendliness: Kids loved it.“

“I had my first time experience at Ukrainian restaurant here, and i absolutely loved it! The food, the drinks, everything was truly delightful. If you’re seeking a unique dining experience, this is a place for you. The decorations in the restaurant are simply wonderful.Tip:??•Make reservations ( specifically on weekends)“
“Improved from prepandemic visits. Quiet inside. Still good pastries though. A place to hang out late and chat. They also have an extensive menu of real food.Feb 2024: resuming slowly the prepandemic noise levels. Able to have a conversation, so not deafening, but not quiet either.“
“Was party of 12 Amazing service . Food always great . I was surprised to try first time in my life homemade bread called Mtchadi wow amazing . Mushroom khinkali and walnuts salad are always great . Great hospitality from servers and owners.“
“Oh my God, queensyard is such an incredible spot!! Located within The Shops at Hudson Yards (on the 4th floor), queensyard has awesome views of the Vessel & the surrounding area that encompasses Hudson Yards. The brunch menu here is great - I highly recommend the Brooklyn Burrata, Avocado Toast, Macaroni & Cheese, and French Fries (the spicy mayo included on the side is SO good)!! For dessert, definitely try their Banana Date Sticky Toffee Pudding - honestly, it's unreal. Further, the staff here are so kind + accommodating, & the atmosphere inside of this place is so beautiful!!UPDATE (3/23/2024): I returned to queensyard for dinner this month, and I'm so happy to report that the experience was just as lovely as brunch! We tried a few new dishes with this visit, including the Bread & Butter, the Smashed Avocado, and the Truffle Caesar Salad - everything was SO good!!“
“The Romanian Garden Restaurant in Queens, New York, offers a delightful culinary experience with its authentic Romanian dishes. The cozy ambiance and welcoming staff create a warm atmosphere for diners. The menu boasts a variety of flavorful options, including traditional mămăligă, sarmale, and mouthwatering mici. The portions are generous, and the presentation adds to the overall appeal. The restaurant's commitment to preserving Romanian culinary traditions is evident in each dish. Whether you're a fan of Romanian cuisine or a newcomer, the Romanian Garden Restaurant is a must-try for an enjoyable dining experience in Queens.“
“We booked the back room for a company dinner for about ~7 people and it was FANTASTIC. They were so easy to work with booking the space, the food was delicious, the service was great. It's an excellent, intimate space for small groups. Would highly, highly recommend!“
“I went around 9, and the place was full. It was nice to see the cafe so lively they have a nice open area for a warmer season?.Lots of pastries to choose from and food was good all around (seasoning, portions, and price).Service was good. Waiters were quick and attentive, friendly with a great positive attitude.Definitely a place to go back to.“
“Arrived early for 7:30 reservation for our party of 4 and had a $15 glass of wine at the bar before being seated. Staff is attentive and excellent service throughout the evening. Wings (Buffalo & Thai Chilli) were very good. I had fettuccine w/shrimp that was fine. The Bananas Foster shared by the table was very good. DJ played good music throughout the evening and the placed filled up nicely as the night went on. Definitely good spot for groups, etc., but not intimate. Plenty of parking nearby“
“My wife and I have been to Koliba three times now, the past couple times with our 7-month old baby girl. The service and food is really great; they let you take your time and enjoy yourself and don’t rush you out the door. My wife is half Slovak and it has been great for us to explore this part of her heritage. We’ve generally gotten a similar thing every time: langos, potato spätzle with sheep cheese, pierogis, and pork and cabbage. The pork is incredibly tender. And the portions are a proper size. Next time, I’m dying to try their klobasa, which looks really good.Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating of our baby and stroller!“
