“This is a hidden gem in the middle of Astoria. The restaurant is downstairs. I came here with a big group for a family style dinner. I highly recommend the gnocchi, the kielbasa style sausage and the broccoli rabe. The grilled whole Branzino was delicious. Oh and the blintzes with fruit jam was good too. It was very affordable and the service was great.“

“Wow… it’s rare that I can’t find words to describe how amazing a place is. We were a group of 5 and decided to share multiple plates: mantia, village salad, mixed platter, tave dheu, qofte, chicken soup, & trileçe (dessert). Each platter had a unique, delicious taste. The kind of taste that makes you close your eyes and teleports you somewhere else. The ambiance was so relaxing and I loved the Albanian music in the background (traditional decor, etc). The service was great, so attentive, and every server that stopped by our table made us feel spoiled and taken care of.This place may be pricey or have small portions for some but for the quality of each ingredient and plate I think it was 100% worth it. This is an experience, not just food.“
“I came here on a double date with friends last Friday night and everything was absolutely phenomenal!! From the delicious food and drinks, to the friendly service and cozy ambiance, this neighborhood gem is now my favorite restaurant in all of Carroll Gardens. “We had steak and pork chops. They were very very good, especially at that price point. The best steak in nyc? Of course not. But for a lovely neighborhood spot, it was far in excess of our expectations. The restaurant is pleasant to be in. The cocktails were also first rate. Honestly I had my doubts, but if you live in the area (cobble hill, Carroll guns, the heights, etc) you should be going here. We will certainly be returning.“

“A lovely Croatian restaurant!The Istrian gnocchi was incredibly indulgent. Soft and chewy gnocchi bathed in luxurious cheese.The burek was so light and crispy, baked to a perfect golden brown with creamy cheese filling.The cevapi was meaty and flavorful. I couldn't get enough of them!The Zito cake was surprisingly good. Not overly sweet, nutty, and creamy. Really enjoyed its sticky, soft, and silky mouthfeel!“
“Cute little restaurant with very limited seats, they take outstanding local quality ingredients and beautify them with unexpected yet delicious and perfectly executed associations. And on top of it they have a great wine list, ask for their recommendation, they know what they do and they’ll recommend something to please you. This is the type of place you want to keep for yourself because it’s just so good, but the time behind that little gem deserves to be known ! I had an amazing time, I’ll be back for a date night with my husband, a quality time with my best friend or even with a larger group to celebrate!“
“Jan 2024 update: this place has become one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city and I've lived here for four decades. Every time I go (lost count now) and everyone I bring absolutely loves loves loves the food. Cannot recommend enough! ?My Georgian friend says this is the best Georgian in the city. What a gem, not just for the neighborhood but for the whole city. Literally everything on the menu is delicious -- between my friends and I we shared everything and everyone was in heaven! The staff is super friendly, and the space is nicely done, very tastefully decorated and impeccably clean -- between the sidewalk space, the backyard, and the main room, the place is spacious despite its unassuming street presence. A good friend of mine raved about the food after returning from Georgia and now I totally see why, wow.“

“Brazilian/Portuguese fine dining experience. I m glad I chose this place. It was magical. It was stunning. Amazing team work from top to bottom. It was open kitchen and that was something I really enjoyed. It was always interesting to witness everyone worked together as a team. Anyway I have to point it out that our server really listened. Navy terms, we call it "attention to details." Special occasion details were not provided when the reservation was made. Yet he figured out the special occasion and improvised accordingly. A surprising treat was served at the end of the dinner. It was like something you would see from a TV show. For the food, the tasting menu was a symphony. A roller coaster ? I would say. The transitions of the flavor from mild to strong and strong to mild were just beautiful. Bravo to the chef. Thoughtfulness was what it was. In my opinion, Some courses were Japanese culture influenced but reconstruted with Brazilian flavored and modern techniques. They were just amazing. Art within art. The collaboration with Toma-L, a renowned painter from France, was a brilliant ideal. It took the dining experience to a whole new level. It is subjective, but I think I had the best dining experience ever. I really enjoyed it.“

“This was my first time in this eatery and i did not know what to expect. I also never had a burek before so i was excited to try it at this establishment. Upon entry the ambiance is a nice laid back chill cafe with plenty of seating and nice lighting. The service was at the front where you place your order. Since it was my first time, the staff helped navigate me into the traditional meat burek and a nice peach juice drink made from an albanian company.it was delicious and very affordable. I bought a slice and it was enough to feed two people! I will come back here again absolutely and try the other items in the menu! Thanks for the nice food and friendly service A+“
“Wow the food was DELICIOUS! We had the ground beef byrek and tave elbasani, they were both really really good. The food was fresy made to order (except for the byrek but that's pretty normal), the yoghurt in elbasani tasted like handmade yoghurt that my father used to make. “I loved this spot. Having visited Serbia last year, I was missing the food from the region - and Kafana delivered. It’s a got a small cozy vibe and the server was great. We started with some complimentary bread with some traditional red pepper paste which was excellent. For food, we started with cevapi - every country in the Balkans has their variation on these - and they were excellent. The star of the night though was the schnitzel - which was rolled veal with ham and cheese inside and a thin layer of bread, almost like a savory strudel. Delicious! We’d started with beers prior so continued with a local one here but they have a lengthy menu of regional wines which I look forward to exploring on a future visit.“
“Came by here for a light dinner and drinks Friday night. This is right by Wallsé, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The decor is really cute with din lighting and framed artwork all around. We ordered a few dishes to share and a cocktail each. I would say the dishes are maybe like 3/4 size of a normal entree so more of an appetizer or lounge. “We arrived a bit early for our 7pm reservation and were taken to our table fairly quickly. The staff were all very friendly, informative on the menu, and professional. The aesthetics are lovey; including the fresh flowers in the window still, bathrooms and all the dining room tables. The food was excellent. My mom loved the grapefruit Austrian beer & I enjoyed one of the Austrian dry white wines in the photo. The butternut squash soup is a must & dairy free (made of coconut milk). My mom & sister got the organic chicken and I got the cod, which was cooked perfectly & the sauces & veggies paired so well with it. The atmosphere is not too quiet and not too loud, just right. Would definitely return to bring friends here and try some other items on the menu!“

“As the Gaby Brasserie Française was right next to our hotel, we decided to have breakfast there and didn't regret it for a second! The food was incredible and the service even more incredible which is why we decided to eat there for the rest of the days. Dhoz and Benny from the service put a smile on our faces every day. Located within The Shops at Hudson Yards (on the 4th floor), queensyard has awesome views of the Vessel & the surrounding area that encompasses Hudson Yards. The brunch menu here is great - I highly recommend the Brooklyn Burrata, Avocado Toast, Macaroni & Cheese, and French Fries (the spicy mayo included on the side is SO good)!! For dessert, definitely try their Banana Date Sticky Toffee Pudding - honestly, it's unreal. “My wife and I have been to Koliba three times now, the past couple times with our 7-month old baby girl. The service and food is really great; they let you take your time and enjoy yourself and don’t rush you out the door. My wife is half Slovak and it has been great for us to explore this part of her heritage. We’ve generally gotten a similar thing every time: langos, potato spätzle with sheep cheese, pierogis, and pork and cabbage. The pork is incredibly tender. And the portions are a proper size. Next time, I’m dying to try their klobasa, which looks really good.Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating of our baby and stroller!“
