“First time back in 10 years since I moved out of the neighborhood. A wonderful young Lady Patti was working. My wife & I just saw a great movie at Regal movie theater. (Sneak Preview of the Jennifer Lawerence movie, "NO Hard Feelings" Very funny !! We went to play pool & have a couple adult beverages. We had more adult beverages than pool games. LoL. Patti was a great professional. When our drinks were 90% gone she asked if we would like to have another sip. LoLVery nostalgic going back to Veronica's. Wish Veronica, Eddie, Lorraine, & Butch all the Best!! Such a great Irish pub for so long !! All the Nest Red Roy & Flo“
“I frequently visit this place with my girlfriend since it’s down the block from my house. I love the food and the service is great Christina and Kristen are amazing. Jackie is kind of rude so that’s the only downside and I tend to avoid the place when she’s bartending or hanging out with her friends there. Other than that I love coming here. Try to Mac and cheese get it well done and order some of the sliders and you’re golden!“
“I don't know how Korean food can be better than this. I have been to Seoul and the taste is pretty authentic to me. Very surprised to find that kind of restaurant in Astoria and not in Ktown. It's not overpriced, portions are big, and the service is perfect. So what else do you need….Highly recommend this restaurantgamsahabnida!“
“The place is very clean, the attention of the waiters is excellent, we have gone to eat there several times, one of those times my daughter ordered chicken with slices and she didn't like it, I thought she was the one with the problem, we came back and I ordered chicken with slices And if I saw that she was right, the chicken with slice was nothing to see, the chicken doesn't feel fresh and on top of that paying $30 didn't seem fair to me, I will return to the place just for the pupusas because they are a delight,“
“We had the VFW in Astoria booked for a celebration of life for my mom and brother. We waited and waited and no one showed up to let us in. A crowd began to gather and still no word from the VFW. My wife and sister searched the area and stumbled up The Local. They explained our situation and the bartender was more than accommodating. We were able to use the outside area which was quite spacious and bring our own food!!! All they asked was that we bought some drinks(which were amazing!!!) I will definitely visit the Local whenever I'm in Astoria!!!“
“I was looking for a nice place to eat sushi and ramen. I found this place on goggle. I decided to read the reviews. They were pretty decent so I decided to take my family here. Hana is the best she is so attentive and very nice and sweet. The food was great the price was ok. So I decided to go back and treat my kid to eat after her practice this past Sunday. The food great Hana a sweet heart. However I was so disappointed. I did not get my duck . Then I decided to order it to go. I got home I had the wrong order. I was so disappointed so was my child. I called the restaurant back and spoke to sue I placed another order. I told her if they could please deliver it and how was it possible for them to get my order wrong. I asked her several times to ask Hana what duck I had ordered before. She agreed. When I hit the delivery again wrong food. OMG. I swear if it wasn’t because Hana is so great I would never go back there. The phone order lady sue is the worst. I was disappointed my kid was upset. After everything she expected me to pay them something for her F ups . I don’t think so. I reverse the charges. They need to put someone else on the phone to take delivery orders on the phone.“
“Big fan of the Sparrow Tavern. Met up with two friends from college, one of whom I hadn't seen in 5 years. Went here because it looked classic and the beer garden next door that we had planned to meet at was closed. Two of us weren't from the area so while that was the place we found on yelp, super glad we ended up at the Sparrow.Really solid Happy Hour specials and the tavern burgers were great (we all got them). We drank Good Supply beer and I had Jack and diets. The bill came out to like 40 a head and we were there for awhile so I thought this was super reasonable.Really friendly bar staff - would 100% go back if I'm in Astoria again“
“Sissy McGintys is awesome!!! Maria and John the owner are fantastic. John took the time to come and talk to us and Maria was on point with the drinks and chat all night. Couldn’t recommend this place enough to have a fantastic night out…a must visit to anyone visiting New York.“
“An awesome dive bar that you would typically see in the East Village. The place is laid back and unpretentious. They have a happy hour special with $5 beers, but honestly, it's not even needed. Their beers are regularly $5-$7 as it is. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back as well and the bartender offers free popcorn to everyone. Overall, this is a nice spot to hit up after dinner.“
“Went on a Sunday around 5:30pm and omg what a vibe. Nick, the Dj, was absolutely killing it with the beats. The restaurant was busy but not overly packed. The server was attentive and did not rush us at all. Felt like a supper club which is exactly what we wanted. Will definitely be back.“
“Recently moved nearby and was in the mood for pub food. I found out about Dillengers from a local Facebook Group. I really enjoyed my visit. Bar and restaurant was clean, service was attentitive & friendly. We ordered a bunch of different appatizers; mozzerella sticks, fried ravioli, zuccini sticks, jalapeños poppers and wings. Everything was awesome and what made this place even better was I felt it was a bargain and an incredibly great value. As I received the bill, I said to the rest of my group "I think i am going to be a regular here. This is where i am coming after work every week. Instead of grabbing pizza and a soda. I am coming here for a beer and a burger or appetizers. It will be similar in price and this was way more enjoyable."“
“After visiting the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria we walked up the block and had a nice lunch at Pig Beach BBQ. My husband and I split the sampler platter which we both enjoyed. My favorite was the pulled pork and my husband’s favorite was the ribs.We were both surprised that it was more of a cafeteria style set up instead of sit down. To me that was probably the only drawback. But it was a very laid back casual atmosphere which a lot of people may find appealing.“
