“They don't serve food, hence the single star in that one. I'm a married man with kids so when I do go out it's gotta be good. I prefer things low key but memorable. The bartenders were both extremely friendly and even though I'm in hospitality and know from the food and beverage staff at my hotel that substitutions can sometimes be a pain, when I asked the man to add a bit of gin to one of their mocktails, he happily obliged. They also have a great, of small, list of great craft beers. Speaking of small, this bar is in the style of a speakeasy. It feels like a place that you're not supposed to find and that's part of its charm. You go upstairs. Find the light from inside peeking through the curtain and once inside there's a bar about six stools and maybe another 10 people can sit at the shadow tables and easy chairs at the back. Again, a feature not a bug. I had a German porter that the bartender described perfectly so I knew I could trust their recommendations. I'll be back, most likely on my birthday or after the weather changes, like around Thanksgiving. It's such a special experience that I wanna save it for the good conversations with close friends. The Irish pub or the sports bar will be the weekly place but Upstairs is for three friend I haven't seen in a while or that after dinner spot when the wife and I get some time and get to enjoy some Thai, Nepali or Indonesian food nearby then we take a short walk to a plane that makes us feel young and cool again.“

“The bar setup appeared well thought out --you can tell the owners have put their heart and soul in making this place so vibrant. As tempting as the ambience is their menu. They have mastered the drinks at the bar while perfecting the dishes on the menu. Be it snacks or a full meal the chef works his magic --the taste took me back to Nepal. Service was outstanding! “A great, cozy neighborhood bar. No frills, no food but they let you take in outside food and there's no shortage of options nearby. Usually a mix of folks of varied ages. I've gone in several times over the years and there are always nice staff working behind the bar. A handy spot to stop in for a pint when you get off the train at Roosevelt Ave and nature calls 😂“

“Not sure if there is food service? It is a friendly environment. But music is overkill, loud. Can't barely hear conversation among us, so we left almost instantly. Lots of neon, blue lights. Service is on point for customers. No one is left unattended. Great for crowd gathering.

Parking: Zero parking meter available as it's located on Roosevelt. Just find nearby blocks for 2hr max meter.“

“The food was absolutely, beyond amazing! Best burger i have ever had and the steak was like butter melting with every bite. I know it's a sea food place but the steaks are done right. Service was the anytime we needed anything and the world cup was playing so it's awesome. It's great and affordable for the area. Recommend for sure and thank you!“
