We both ordered off the lunch special menu, and both got the same a pork jäger schnitzel with some French fries…15 bucks. The food was hot and tasty and the price was reasonable. “This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“Great food, great Guinness, great vibes! Wolfe Tone's was absolutely FABULOUS on Marathon Sunday! Derek was such a pleasure to work with in the weeks before our big day and he and the entire staff took such great care of us and our family and friends post-race! They truly went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable, well-fed, and never without a drink! The location is also great, it was easy for everyone to get to and for everyone to go home from (so close to Grand Central and the 6 train!) One of the best pints of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland, such a cozy atmosphere and incredible staff members. Classic Irish pub food, which everybody loved! The classics are classics for a reason, and they were very well done. I’ve also had dinner here on a regular night, and it’s just as good! Great pub fare, generous portions, and a really relaxed, friendly vibe. It’s not just a perfect event spot, it’s a great place for an everyday meal too. I am so grateful to Wolfe Tone's for being a great, reasonably priced, delicious, comfy and cozy place to celebrate post-race. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to host any kind of event. “Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.“

“Dining at Tha Phraya was a pleasant experience. The ambience of the restaurant and the service was great. The food was delicious with the right amount of spice levels for someone who liked spicy food. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly on a Saturday evening, so reservations are always a good idea. I liked that we didn't feel rushed to finish our meal.“

“Great Restaurant Week Dinner. We have been to about 10 different restaurants for this year's restaurant week and Essex was far and away the best. The wagyu tartare was fantastic as was the grilled shrimp over polenta. Petite filet mignon had a $10 ucharge bupt was well worth it. The space was beautiful and our server, Jenna, was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!“

“Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.“

Regarding the food:

Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.

Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.

King Salmon: Quite tender.

Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.

Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

“Had the Mr. Bifana Slider and it was a magical experience. Such flavor in those things. The bread was to die for. Here I was expecting the typical brioche bun on a tiny slider. You can imagine my ecstasy when fresh rolls arrived instead, with deliciously seasoned slices of pork in between. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy.
