“The owner is very cordial and considerate. The restaurant is clean and has two bathrooms one for men and one for women. I had a beef stew which was a lunch special it had white rice ,mixed vegetables and lots of beef. It would’ve been better on separate plates for each of the items on the special. I’m sure if asked they would serve the special on respective separate plates when asked. The food is served from a hot table with 8 or 10 selections of entrees ofbeef,pork,chicken,and vegetables as well as white rice. It is a basic eat in restaurant doing a large delivery business. The do have a wine and beer license and serve after 12 pm. I tipped though it wasn’t implied. A good place to go.“

“This location went from a 4 star to five star due to the customer service provided by Titus.
Here's the story, I came to this location with two teens and a wheelchair user. This location was called to confirm accessibility. There is a sizeable staircase with a chair lift to the left. When we arrived Nelson went about looking for the key to activate the lift to no avail. We were not deterred the family got the chair upstairs. Titus offered us free drinks for our effort. And by end of our 90 session we were surprised to find we were not going to be charged for food and he assisted with bringing the chair down.
But to high light a few other things, Titus and Nelson both provided instruction that helped us have successful throws, and Titus just had a great personality, he's was smiling, warm, very engaging.
We would definitely return hopefully the lift will be functional next time.“

“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

Derek was such a pleasure to work with in the weeks before our big day and he and the entire staff took such great care of us and our family and friends post-race! The location is also great, it was easy for everyone to get to and for everyone to go home from (so close to Grand Central and the 6 train!) One of the best pints of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland, such a cozy atmosphere and incredible staff members. Classic Irish pub food, which everybody loved! The classics are classics for a reason, and they were very well done. I’ve also had dinner here on a regular night, and it’s just as good! Great pub fare, generous portions, and a really relaxed, friendly vibe. It’s not just a perfect event spot, it’s a great place for an everyday meal too. I am so grateful to Wolfe Tone's for being a great, reasonably priced, delicious, comfy and cozy place to celebrate post-race. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to host any kind of event. “I stopped in yesterday with my girlfriends as a trio exactly at 5pm and we were able to get a booth. I loved the cute decor. 90s music and relaxed atmosphere. The shining star of the evening was the Happiest Meal deal…. Do not skip the burger! It is so delicious. We tasted a variety of aeperol spritz’s which were all tasty but my favorite was the classic. Our server Ike was super attentive and friendly, gave us helpful recommendations and playful banter, such a sweetheart. We will definitely be back for Happy Hour (and the burgers). “157 Tavern has been a staple in the area for 10 years and is an excellent choice for parties or group gatherings. You can simply provide them with your budget, and they will curate the menu for you, which makes the planning process very convenient.

Regarding the food:

Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.

Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.

King Salmon: Quite tender.

Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.

Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

Aaron was so accommodating and communicative throughout the booking process, right up until the event started. All the staff were so kind and helpful, and a huge shoutout to our servers Lucia and Brian! They made sure everything went smoothly, and the night couldn’t have gone any better.“

“There is something very very cool about The Wren. I hate to admit it but we were those last two patrons who wanted a drink before heading out and the Wren I had been to before. They did not need to seat us but they did and even though it was 10 minute stay at the bar and because we care about people it was an order-and-pay kinda thing. We were here maybe 7 minutes but we wanted to let you know this kind of embracing is why New York is very kind, cool and heartfelt. We cashed out and left but we really appreciated it. “I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. I will certainly pop over again next time I’m in the area!!!! The drinks and food were top notch… So cheers Penrose to your amazing hospitality ❤️“

“We stumbled across this place yesterday, we dipped in from the cold for a break and had a pleasant surprise, the staff were so welcoming and made sure we got a seat at the bar... later realised I had read about the bar previously, the hot dogs are a lovely touch and drinks amazing prices. x“

“Came here with my best friend to catch up and we had a great time. The atmosphere is beautiful and the music is at the level to still be able to hold a conversation. My friend arrived before me and ordered us two margaritas and a beer to catch the happy hour prices. Then we tried the happy hour tacos. We had one of each, mushroom Al Pastor, Tinga and carnitas. I think the Al pastor isn’t bad just not my favorite vegetarian taco I’ve tried. Then the tinga surprised me - it’s actually very good and tastes very similar to what I grew up eating at home. My favorite was the carnitas taco. The tacos with the chile de árbol salsa or salsa macha is a great blend.
Then I ordered the carnitas gorditas and they were amazing - the Gordita was made made perfectly - I prefer a more crunchy Gordita than a fluffy one. My friend tried the sticky wings - they were cooked extra crispy like we asked for but the flavor wasn’t bad it was unexpected - there’s chamoy in their sauce, while they’re not bad wings they’re not great either.
The yuzu spritz truly stood out- very refreshing

“The hospitality is incredible. After living in nyc for 8+ years and eating out at a lot of Italian spots, this is one of my top restaurants now and a go to. The Dover is incredible and the short rib is magical. They have incredible wine by the glass options - super Tuscan was our pick. Ask for the dessert wine that is has apricot and peach tones. Highly recommend and they can accommodate for large private dining with some sectioned off parts of the restaurant!

“Loved every dish- fluke with black tea, mint and peach(who knew raw fish and fruit went so well together?), amazing grilled artichokes and grilled eggplant. Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.“

The drinks tend towards the lighter and session-able side, with a the on tap Americano Bianco being my favorite.

The food was very good … had the “Irish Spice Bag” … creative dish with chicken, hand-cut French fries, peppers and onions, and spices … something different ($20).

The service was very good as well … very nice and kind bartender taking care of the whole place … so need to be reasonably patient.

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“
