My friend had been dying to come here so we took advantage of their BOGO burger offer. The reviews, establishment, history and food did not disappoint. And it's true, the Neirs burger IS the best! Nostalgic to be back in the old neighborhood - I lived about 5 houses away in the '80s and '90s.
My friend and I went out to Neir's Tavern last night to catch the Comedy Show. We really enjoyed our burgers (mine was just a cheeseburger, his was the God Father) and the Belgium style mashed potatoes were delicious! Hate to say it, but the Cosmos were more strong, than tasty. Maybe work on that a bit?? Ambience was good, lively for a Comedy night. I'd go back!

It's the oldest bar in NYC (aside from one in Wall St.) - You might recognize it from GoodFellas.Worth going out of your way for the history, and worth coming to just because. They play the sports games with the volume on. Have to love it.
