Otto's Shrunken Head Reviews
One of the few remaining places from my 'old day's' of stomping around the Village. Saw so much live music here. My wife DJed happy hour here for years. Collected all their tiki mugs and glasses. And drank every drink off of their menu. Good times for sure!!!
Otto's is an institution for a reason. I've been coming here for years and it never gets old. The Navy Grog is my go-to, and the staff always remembers me which is a nice touch. It's cramped and quirky, but that's exactly what you want from a dive Tiki bar. Great selection of rums. If you're in the neighborhood and need a strong drink in a cool setting, this is the place.
Great dive with fun drinks that are strong as hell!

Otto's Shrunken Head is a fun tiki bar in NYC with a lively atmosphere and retro vibes. It hosts live music performances in a back room, featuring bands and DJs that play rock'n roll, rockabilly, garage rock, punk rock, and ska/punk. The bar is known for its friendly and welcoming staff, who make guests feel at home even when busy. The decor and theme are unique, and visitors can buy a tiki mug, like a little pig, for a small fee. The drinks, including tiki mug cocktails, are fairly priced and strong, adding to the enjoyable experience. The food, such as chicken skewers and dumplings, is surprisingly delicious. The bar also hosts a monthly artists market and a Subway to Skaville show with DJ Ryan Midnight, creating lively nights. Seating can be limited, and the space between the bar and seating is narrow, which might feel a bit awkward, especially when crowded. Still, with no cover charge, it’s worth stopping by to see if there’s a seat. Otto's Shrunken Head remains a lively spot for those looking for a fun night out in NYC.
