Feast of San Gennaro 2026: Annual Festival in Little Italy Manhattan

Every September, the streets of Little Italy in Manhattan close to vehicular traffic and fill with Italian food stalls, live music stages, and religious processions. In 2026, the Feast of San Gennaro celebrates a major milestone: 100 years since its founding.

The Feast of San Gennaro will run from Thursday, September 17, through Sunday, September 27, 2026 - 11 consecutive days. The dates are confirmed by the official organizers, Figli di San Gennaro Inc.

The main festivities take place along Mulberry Street between Canal Street and Houston Street. Additional festival zones include:

Hester Street - between Baxter Street and Centre Street

Grand Street - between Baxter Street and Centre Market Place

Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood (113 Baxter Street) - the spiritual hub of the festival, where traditional processions originate.

Neapolitan immigrants established the festival in 1926 as a one-day religious tribute to San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples who was martyred in 305 AD while serving as Bishop of Benevento. September 26, 2:00 PM - Grand Procession: The statue of San Gennaro is carried through the streets of Little Italy accompanied by marching bands, including the Giglio Band and the Clarity Festival Band.
