“Service was great, friendly and the dishes came pretty fast. The horchata tasted fresh and made with love, not watered down like other restaurants I’ve tried before. I ordered the octopus tacos and didn’t have high expectations because most restaurants don’t cook octopus correctly, but THIS PLACE NAILS IT. It was perfection. SO SO SOOOO good. I will definitely be thinking about this meal for a while and will come back to try more dishes!“

“I came in for some tacos and left very happy! Ordered the birria tacos and steak tacos which were flavorful, juicy, and filled with cheese, onions, green peppers, cilantro. Staff were very friendly and I loved the atmosphere as they were playing good music in the back.“

“Had a very nice dinner with the family. One of the only restaurants on Ditmars Blvd where you can hear each other talking. Food was great and our waiter was attentive. The manager came by to make sure every table was happy. Prices were great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Wonderful decor and a very attentive and kind staff. They listened, checked in often, and even gave a free dessert after hearing that we were celebrating a birthday. One of the dishes did take a bit long but it easily could have been the dish itself or the timing and wasn't enough to detract from 5 stars“

“Hidden gem crafting the most delicious food. The absolutely nicest people. Everything was amazing. The mole enchiladas, birria tacos, horchata, and hibiscus drink really stood out. We cleaned our plates and waddled home truly satisfied. Muchas gracias!“

“Edit: I reduced my review from 5 to 4 stars. I’ve noticed in the last several months, the portions have been noticeably reduced. The seitan burrito is ~20% smaller than it used to be. Still very tasty, but the portions are now a little disappointing in comparison.

Original review: Incredible restaurant. The server was very friendly, the establishment was clean and had a nice atmosphere, and, most important of all, the food was amazing. I appreciate the several vegan and vegetarian options. I had the seitan burrito and had a bite of the nopal tacos.“

Started eating here when I started working in the neighborhood and it is amazing! They are better then chipotle, I don't think I could ever go back. They have a wide selection of offerings, Halal and don't even get me started on the Tres Leches....you will NOT regret stopping into guac time for a bite to eat! They also offer a discount to students. Love supporting a local establishment that gives back to the community.“

“Really enjoyed this place. There were only about four other people when I arrived around 5:20 p.m. The bartender/waitress let me sit where I wanted and she brought me a perfect margarita. I had the chicken enchiladas suizas Verdes. They were amazing and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this spot.“

“The food is off the hook. They cook it all in the spot. Old shaby restaurant with authentic food. Just as what you expect when traveling in NYC. Bathroom is clean, better than most restaurants such as this gem. Oh, and, for customers ONLY! I'll be bringing my friends to this establishment. I make it a priority to stop by whenever I'm in the area—it's just that good! If you visit, definitely try their horchata. Oh, and the customer service is fantastic!

“It was 4 am my friends and I were starving all McDonalds were closed we thought there were no food options and that we would have to go to bed hungry and we drove past this place and it was miraculously open! We were so happy. We ordered 5 tacos and the man behind the counter was super helpful and didn't care that it was 4 am. The tacos were AMAZING flavorful, juicy and just some of the best tacos ever! We had their their hibiscus juice delicious, homemade tortillas chicken, pork, steak, shrimp. Everything was so flavorful tasted, everything tasted fresh seasoned to perfection. “I ordered catering from Hot Peppers and it was a hit with everyone! Every single person asked where I got the food from and everyone wants to order from Hot Peppers for their parties! The service was amazing. All the food was securely packed inside quality aluminum trays and containers. They even gave me a plastic crate to make sure nothing spills. They placed a plastic garbage bag in the trunk, to make sure the car is protected if any spills happen. The food was extremely fresh and hot! Despite the fact that I was an hour late for pick up! I was truly impressed by Hot Peppers and their incredible catering service. This will be my Go-To for Halal Mexican Catering! Thank you for the amazing food and freshness of every item! “If you know, you know. This deli is my go-to spot for tacos. Every single time I go, I get the cecina asada (steak) quesadillas ( it’s crunchy tacos) and it never disappoints. The flavor is always on point, seasoned perfectly, and cooked just right. If you go, make sure you get the green sauce i recommend you call before you go so it’s ready!“
