“Found this place online. We ordered chilaquiles con salsa verde , French toast & iced cafe de olla. The place gives a Mexican home style atmosphere. It’s a small space & got busy after 11:30am on a Saturday. We got seated quickly. The chilaquiles were shareable and had a mild spicy. The French Toast was MASSIVE and shareable. The crust was slightly too toasted making it a bit difficult to cut through. The arrangement of fruit was nice tho. They added mango which was a nice touch. The cafe con olla does well iced and definitely has the olla taste. Highly recommend the chilaquiles con steak y salsa verde. The staff were very friendly.“

“I used to come here for their lunch specials, which unfortunately are no longer available, but I still enjoy coming for lunch. I love their protein options, especially the tofu — it is absolutely amazing and one of the best tofu dishes I have had.
The tofu is my favorite, and I would recommend this place a million times to anyone looking for great food. Their burgers are good, the tacos are great, and their vegetarian options are always delicious. The quality, flavors, and variety keep me coming back.“

“Came by for Sunday brunch. Welcomed and seated by a hostess at the bar with a smile. I recognized the bartender/ server - Diego, from my past visit and so did he. A friendly guy with smiles who walked me thru his fav’s - which I asked for. I thoroughly enjoyed my mocktail, Tiradito de Tuna, shrimp ceviche, corn ribs, fish tacos and Tres leches…😋🫶‼️Great energy in the room with live DJ. This place wins for its “presentation” of any dish with flavors! Great food and friendly staff. This is my nth visit and will frequent it. Ty for making my day off…😉😋👏🫶‼️“
“I recently visited Spanglish in Astoria, and I have to say that the service was a perfect 10 out of 10. The nachos and tacos were fantastic, but the drinks were the highlight of my experience. I highly recommend this place! Our waitress, Irene, was incredibly impressive.“

“My go to birria spot!! Found it here at 36th ave near my school. A family run restaurant with a variety of authentic Mexican foods that are fairly cheap compared to other spots. The atmosphere is subtle and comforting; cleanliness is not bad— but also not perfect. The service is very nice and the food is always made fresh. A nice hidden-in-the-wall type of spot.“

“Incredible pillow soft tortillas and very richly flavored enchiladas. Really great food. Played a violent action movie at high volume over very quiet but great background music, brought out food in takeout containers, seems like eat in service is an afterthought, which is too bad because the decor is very pleasant.“

“So glad I stopped in here for lunch— I'll be back soon! It's truly a hidden gem. We had a milanesa torta and the quesabirria and both work phenomenal... Truly authentic flavors which is hard to find with Mexican food in the city.
It was quiet in there on a Saturday afternoon, but the atmosphere was welcoming. Our waiter was also the bartender and chef and, presumably, owner.“

“I grabbed the quesadilla and it was fenomenal. I chose chicken as the meat and it was flavorful, juicy, and some of the best I’ve had. A lot of flavor and ingredients packed into one quesadilla. It’s not the standard picture of what a quesadilla may look like but was much more flavorful so I did not mind. As someone who grew up in the Latino culture this is very authentic! The workers were very friendly and got my order perfectly even after I changed a few ingredients. 10/10 would recommend. (I went back for seconds)“

“I went here and ordered nachos which consisted of homemade tortilla chips, melted with cheese, in a bed of black beans puree, topped with crema, guacamole and pico de gallo (and shrimps=one of the options to choose from) and I really loved it. I am back in the Netherlands after a visit to New York and still thinking about it. Thank you so much for this lovely culinary experience.“

“Cozy Bodega with the most badass authentic tacos! Hail Mary twenty-times over for this spot!
This cozy little spot has everything Mexican, Viva Mexico!
Family owned and run business, absolutely adorable spot. I highly recommend this as one of my Top Ten Bodegas for Munchies and Comfort food.
Best advice—take out or delivery. They used to have a chair or bench outside, not sure but if you walk down a couple blocks there’s a park where you can enjoy the sunset with a delicious taco. 🌮“

“Decent taco truck near the waterfront. Open relatively late for this area, closing at midnight. Authentic staff and lots of Hispanic clientele as well. They take cash or card/tap payment which is great.
I find the Habanero salsa they have to be less spicy than a serrano pepper. Have only tried the tacos - al pastor is the best quality, followed by steak (asada) and then chorizo. They also have a very fresh although bare bones guac. Love the service here, they're very friendly.“

“Food is in a relaxed spacious area. Lots of seating. Ordered 3 sandwiches and all were fresh and tasty. They sell Tea too (yes British!), so happy with that. The staff are friendly and polite, and the prices are very reasonable. Would happily visit again.“

“I tried their Birria Tacos and they have the best in the area. A couple dollars more than what you get charged elsewhere but it's so worth it because the taco never falls apart, which can be hard with Birria. The flavor, service, and overall quickness is why i always come to these guys. Where else could you get birria at 3am?“
