“Decent taco truck near the waterfront. Open relatively late for this area, closing at midnight. Authentic staff and lots of Hispanic clientele as well. They take cash or card/tap payment which is great.

I find the Habanero salsa they have to be less spicy than a serrano pepper. Have only tried the tacos - al pastor is the best quality, followed by steak (asada) and then chorizo. They also have a very fresh although bare bones guac. Love the service here, they're very friendly.“

“I went here and ordered nachos which consisted of homemade tortilla chips, melted with cheese, in a bed of black beans puree, topped with crema, guacamole and pico de gallo (and shrimps=one of the options to choose from) and I really loved it. I had passed by Los Tacos No. 1 several times, but the line was always so long that I never stopped. This time, maybe because the weather wasn’t great, there was hardly any line, so I decided to give it a try.

And wow—it was so, so good! The tacos were absolutely delicious. Now I understand why there is always a line here.

I tried two tacos for $11. A little pricey for two tacos, but honestly, that’s pretty much Manhattan prices. And they were SO good! The ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were amazing.

It’s a small, cozy spot with 3 tables inside, but the atmosphere is really nice and the staff is super friendly.

Definitely a little gem! If you love tacos, you should give this place a try. I’ll definitely be back! 🤤“

“Just wow! Having been to Taqueria Ramirez, I already knew the tacos at Carnitas Ramirez weren’t going to let me down. And they certainly didn’t! Every taco I had was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the corn tortillas were top notch. There’s also a nice assortment of salsas and toppings at a DIY counter so you can dress them up however you like. “Very yummy tacos with great service. The tortillas are made fresh in house and the ingredients taste really fresh! The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the service was super quick. There's comfortable seating and you can put your own sauce on like salsa verde. Generous serving sizes as well. Highly recommend eating here if you're in the area! They have horchata as well which was the perfect amount of sweet and helped calm down the spice from the tacos.“

“First - this food is incredible. Spent a lot of time in Houston, ATX, MX, and other taco strongholds. This is more than on par with the best of all of them. Also, fast and fresh.

Second - customer service at both locations is top-tier, from the leadership to the front-of-house.

“Staff is great at making sure you know how to place your order, as it can be confusing for first timers (we weren’t the only ones).
Between three of us who visited, we ordered all of the taco options. The carne asada, pollo asado, and adobada tacos were a hit - the meat was flavorful and tender. The cactus was just okay, and the only flavor was spicy. We all got flour tortillas, which were soft and held up well. The person making my tacos made part and then made someone else’s in between, so I think he got confused and tossed a bunch of onions in mine, even though I specified no onions. I understand mistakes happen, but he covered it with guac sauce and then said “no onions” when handing them to me. I ended up having to pick them out but still enjoyed the tacos. The chips and guac are really good and fresh, and the red agua fresca (I forgot the flavor) that was recommended to me was also very good.
As far as the location, it was conveniently on the way from Battery Park to Brooklyn Bridge. No seating, just bar tops for a quick meal. No restrooms either. Bright and pretty clean for how busy it is.“

“I rarely leave reviews bc I’m too lazy to login and do it. But for TacOmar, I had to! These are hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Tacos have never really blown me away, until now.

They are fresh, the flavors balance so well together, and they’re cooked to perfection. The green sauce is quite spicy so be cautious if you don’t handle spice well. But it pairs so well with the tacos.

In Arabic, after an incredible meal we say to the chef, tislam edak (literal translation: may your hands be safe) aka bless your hands! That’s what came to mind when I had these.“

Note that the food here is based on the cuisines of two Mexican states in the southern and central western parts of Mexico: Oaxaca and Jalisco.
