“The tacos were delicious! I especially recommend trying the Nopal Taco if you’ve never had cactus before,it was one of my favorites. The horchata was also really good; it’s a sweet drink made with rice and cinnamon, and definitely worth trying. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved very quickly. We only waited about 7–8 minutes. Overall, it was a great experience!“

“Amazing shrimp burrito and chicken quesadillas. Ingredients are quality, you can taste the freshness of the tomatoes for sure. Staff was super welcoming and fun to talk to for a solo diner. Al Pastor tacos looked amazing (sadly I do not eat pork or I would have devoured them). Green salsa is spicy, but they give you a fair warning. Will come back next time I’m in the city“

“Just wow! Having been to Taqueria Ramirez, I already knew the tacos at Carnitas Ramirez weren’t going to let me down. And they certainly didn’t! Every taco I had was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the corn tortillas were top notch. There’s also a nice assortment of salsas and toppings at a DIY counter so you can dress them up however you like. Everyone was super friendly too. Absolutely worth the trip, and I can’t wait to return.“

“First - this food is incredible. Spent a lot of time in Houston, ATX, MX, and other taco strongholds. This is more than on par with the best of all of them. Also, fast and fresh.
Second - customer service at both locations is top-tier, from the leadership to the front-of-house.
I was hesitant to write this because I loathe waiting in lines and fear blowing up a cherished spot (that’s already famous - you get it), but I believe in giving credit and celebrating where it’s due. And here, it certainly is.“

“Staff is great at making sure you know how to place your order, as it can be confusing for first timers (we weren’t the only ones).
Between three of us who visited, we ordered all of the taco options. The carne asada, pollo asado, and adobada tacos were a hit - the meat was flavorful and tender. The cactus was just okay, and the only flavor was spicy. We all got flour tortillas, which were soft and held up well. The person making my tacos made part and then made someone else’s in between, so I think he got confused and tossed a bunch of onions in mine, even though I specified no onions. I understand mistakes happen, but he covered it with guac sauce and then said “no onions” when handing them to me. I ended up having to pick them out but still enjoyed the tacos. The chips and guac are really good and fresh, and the red agua fresca (I forgot the flavor) that was recommended to me was also very good.
As far as the location, it was conveniently on the way from Battery Park to Brooklyn Bridge. No seating, just bar tops for a quick meal. No restrooms either. Bright and pretty clean for how busy it is.“

“On a rainy day exploring the city, this little place didn’t disappoint! The tacos were full of flavor and a great price! The barbacoa taco was so tender! “After hunting for good Mexican food for over a year, it’s safe to say this place checks all the boxes. The staff are always friendly, the food is divine, and the portions are reasonable. There is limited seating, but it is cozy and nice if the weather is good. I will say, if you order through an app, the portions are quite a bit smaller so it’s worth going in-person. Everything is good so you can’t miss, but I especially love the beans they use in the Al Pastor burrito and the salsa verde.“

“I recently hosted a holiday party at 690, and everything exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere was vibrant, the space was perfect, and the bar options were excellent. We rented the entire upstairs private floor with a cash bar, and it worked out beautifully. They catered the event, and the food was absolutely phenomenal, with plenty of menu options to choose from. If you're searching for a venue to host your next event, I highly recommend considering 690—it’s a fantastic choice!“

“The food here was very high quality. As there was only one vegetarian option, it was still tasty and amazing to try because of how fresh the ingredients were, the high quality temperature, and the presentation. We got the mushroom tacos and a quesadilla with added pico de gallo, fresh herbs. The quality of the tortilla was fresh, the people were friendly, and the ordering process was smooth through through the kiosk. Since we went in the winter it was freezing but they were nice enough to add a heating fan. The best part about this place and selling point as we all know is the atmosphere. Since the taco spot is a quick eat N go, the keg stands as mini standing tables was very clever and aesthetic. Will come back if I ever am in the area and drunk 🤪“
