“After hunting for good Mexican food for over a year, it’s safe to say this place checks all the boxes. The staff are always friendly, the food is divine, and the portions are reasonable. There is limited seating, but it is cozy and nice if the weather is good. I will say, if you order through an app, the portions are quite a bit smaller so it’s worth going in-person. Everything is good so you can’t miss, but I especially love the beans they use in the Al Pastor burrito and the salsa verde.“

“First - this food is incredible. Spent a lot of time in Houston, ATX, MX, and other taco strongholds. This is more than on par with the best of all of them. Also, fast and fresh.

Second - customer service at both locations is top-tier, from the leadership to the front-of-house.

I was hesitant to write this because I loathe waiting in lines and fear blowing up a cherished spot (that’s already famous - you get it), but I believe in giving credit and celebrating where it’s due. And here, it certainly is.“

As there was only one vegetarian option, it was still tasty and amazing to try because of how fresh the ingredients were, the high quality temperature, and the presentation. We got the mushroom tacos and a quesadilla with added pico de gallo, fresh herbs. The quality of the tortilla was fresh, the people were friendly, and the ordering process was smooth through through the kiosk. Since we went in the winter it was freezing but they were nice enough to add a heating fan. The best part about this place and selling point as we all know is the atmosphere. Since the taco spot is a quick eat N go, the keg stands as mini standing tables was very clever and aesthetic. Will come back if I ever am in the area and drunk 🤪“

We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. “Tacos Comal is following what every taco spot in Ny is trying to do; and that is to mimic the ever popular Tijuana style taco of course originating from its name sake and an ever popular option in California. And just like these taqueria in NY that try to mimic the look is there but the flavor cannot seem to get it right. These tacos are 3.5, although I cannot give it in my review it’s not deserving a 4 but mediocre is not by any measure and definitely does not deserve a 3. It falls in a 3.5 category. It’s not that the flavor is bad, it’s more that I don’t taste the authenticity. The salsas were weak and the biggest saving grace of this taco spot is its tortillas, which are definitely delicious.

If you’re looking for a good New York taco this is your spot! If you’re looking for an authentic Mexico or California taco they are to be found elsewhere.“

“Walking distance from subway. Across the street from a nice park. Somewhat manageable paid street parking. Amazing staff and service. Very cozy with only 2 tables and a counter. Very extended menu, you will definitely find something you like, vegan, vegetarian, or meats. Lunch specials are all great. Fast service. I'm getting lunch there at least 3 times a week, every week.
