“The pickled fish pot bottom is quite good! Chenchen's service is quite good! He was very attentive and enthusiastic but did not interrupt our meal. He patiently introduced new things that we had not tried before. He helped us order a lot of things and always helped us with the dishes. Dirty dishes were never left on the table for more than two minutes before being taken away. Quite a good dining experience.”

“If you want an authentic taste experience, you have to try MrDak. They take pride in three core principles: organic chicken, clean oil, and tasty sauce. ?
With a wide variety of flavors, each bite of their fried chicken is a crispy, juicy, and tender delight! ?✨
They also have variety of other delicious Korean dishes.
We  indulged in their Mr. Jjimdak, a braised chicken dish with house specialty sauce, glass noodles, veggies, and rice cake. It was bursting with flavor, and guess what? They even offer a free bottle of soju with this meal! ??

Overall, MrDak offers not only incredible food but also outstanding service. Definitely a spot to check out if you’re a fan of Korean cuisine! ??✨

“I stopped by while in NY with some friends and the food was amazing. We missed breakfast by a few minutes which I was sad about but we caught lunch and I’m so glad that we did. I honestly had a hard time letting the food cool down enough to eat. I got some kind of beef stew and it was very flavorful. The meat tasted like it was marinated, it picked up whatever it was soaked in very well. The banchan was fresh and delicious. We ate them all by themselves before the food even arrived. The staff was nice and patient. There was an odor that I didn’t like and it did upset my stomach. I think it might have been coming from outside though. Honestly the best Korean food I’ve had. I’ll definitely come back during another visit.”

“Have you ever watched the movie Falling Down staring Michael Douglas? The Chinese guy from the movie is the store owner of this place! He would charge you for a sandwich with just the choice of meat in it then you have to pay an extra 50cents for every single item i.e lettuce, onion, tomatoes, cheese. So a regular sandwich would end up costing around $10.”

The staff is very friendly too. It is located in a hotel building. It feels authentic Uyghur cuisine with the decor and halal. The price is also amazing for such good food. Like to see this culture preserved, especially given what is happening in their homeland.

“The drinks are good but the wait and their order priority is flawed. They messed up 3 people's drinks in front of me and also mine as well (they never started mine and even talked to their coworkers about the mess up), they gave someone a medium when they ordered a large. They messed up someone's drink by giving a matcha when they ordered strawberry, and whatever order number you have doesn't mean you're next. If your order is #35 and they called 34 already, next could be 36 or even 40 if the line is long.

The drinks are good but definitely expect the sweetness to be strong.”

“I recommend going during the week in the mornings only. Agatha is lovely and always says hello to customers by name. A little effort like this goes such a long way in making your mornings a bit better. The staff/drinks on weekday mornings are consistent, however, the weekend staff I cannot say the same. The drinks are tasteless and gross every time I go over the weekends and they take forever to make them even when the store/pre-orders don't appear busy. I won't deduct stars for this because it is a night to day difference between weekdays and weekends and the weekday staff shouldn't be put down for the terrible weekend staff.”

“Everything was amazing. I loved the food. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the chicken was very juicy and very crispy. They do not many things precooked because I had to wait 10 minutes for them to make the order. However I was not too busy. The food was right out the fryer and delicious. However, I do see reviews saying the food isn't crispy which is very understandable. The location of the restaurant is very distant from a walkway and customers mainly get there by car. They don't get much customers so their food may be in the food warmer for a while. However, personally my experience was near perfect.”

Piccolo Sogno 195-14 47th Ave, Flushing Italian • $$

“We were attending an event at Queens College and wanted to have a lunch/dinner afterwards, so we searched for restaurants nearby. There were many choices, but I was impressed by the website and menu for Piccolo Sogno. Following the event, joined by four friends, my wife and I made the short drive to the restaurant. It was a hot day, and at first we said we would like to dine inside. But the gracious host said we were welcome to check the outside seating first--and we're so glad we did! In the lovely, covered garden, we comfortably began a great feast! Piccolo Sogno has a nice selection of wines and beers as well as sparkling water. That was followed by delicious Calamari Fritti (done to perfection) and a Hot Antipasto Sampler with more calamari, baked clams, eggplant rolatini and amazing fried shrimp. We followed that with Pollo Alla Francese (some of the best I've ever had), Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne Vodka, and Insalata Dello Chef with chicken. These were served with generous side orders of Caesar salad or pasta. The service was friendly, courteous and at a pace that made for a wonderful afternoon. Even though we were extremely well-filled, we ordered dessert, and are so glad we did! The Limoncello Flute was one of the best desserts we've had, as was the Chocolate Mousse. Some iced expresso (wait until you see the special way it is layered!) and coffee would have been the end of a perfect meal, but then Chef Maurizio himself came out to spend some time at our table. After a nice conversation, he took this selfie shot of us all. As we left, the wonderful staff of the restaurant all greeted us and thanked us for coming. I can't remember the last time that happened in such a warm and spontaneous way. I could not more highly recommend a restaurant. We live in Manhattan and have our choice of some of the best restaurants anywhere--but actually, I look forward to returning to Piccolo Sogno!”

We got the set for 2, which includes spicy rice cake, gimbap, fish cake soup, and 4 pieces of boneless chicken. The serving seems small, but for my mom and I, it was plenty for the both of us and very filling. The spicy rice cake is not too spicy it had perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The soup was refreshing and had different types of fish cakes in it. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The gimbap had lots of vegetables, and the seasoning was great.”

“I will be coming back to give this place the chance because I like the concept but I have a few observations to do.

The service was nice and quick the girls in the bar were very nice and I went the day I was a fight going on and the place was packed

Ok we got it, is an sport bar and I went that day that seems to be important but I don’t see the sense in not having music on if you can’t hear the tv anyways because the noise of everyone talking at the same time, I’ll prefer to listen some music and watch the tv in silence.

The kitchen close at 11 but I think in those days where is something going on you should keep it open a few more hours will be good for the restaurant and for us clients drinking and having access to food.

The place was a little too cold it was full of people and anyways it was so cold that I was shaking in the bar ( that make me don’t want to keep drinking if I’m drinking frozen margaritas or beer)”

“In general, I like the food but the drinks are very sweet and watery. The attention is good. But what totally disqualified it is the bathroom, very dark and the door is so dirty that it is disgusting to open or close.
And be very careful not to neglect your belongings because they can easily be lost, someone can steal them.”

“I travelled 40 miles deep into Flushing Queens for the best Korean Fried Chicken! Comes with Spicy or Soy Garlic, Juicy Drumsticks or wings and with some tangy sour pickled radish or sweet creamy kimchi cole slaw. You are missing out if you have not tried this!!! You want some?! Usually I would get this when I worked the Financial District or Midtown Manhattan but this was the closest to home and they did not let me down!! Like most Korean Fried Chicken Places in Flushing or K-Town Manhattan... you can see Asian families/ laughing and eating wings with a whole pile of delicious wings dumped in the middle of the table! They on to something here! Lol #foodie #foodporn #koreanfood #friedchicken”

Parking: Yes

Kid-friendliness: The horses are galloping at rapid and exquisite speed, perhaps i shall be arriving shortly in about 2 hours

“A group of us came here to celebrate a special occasion. Every dish was a hit, would want to reorder everything we tried again. Some of what we tried included the chicken, noodles, and eggplant. The seasoning and spices are perfect as are the cooking and preparation.

The staff is very friendly too. It is located in a hotel building. It feels authentic Uyghur cuisine with the decor and halal. The price is also amazing for such good food. Like to see this culture preserved, especially given what is happening in their homeland.

Dietary restrictions: Halal”

“Thought this place would be a game changer to this area, but sadly it isn’t. While I’m sure everyone enjoys tenders and fries, it’s not for everybody. Food def needs to be seasoned more, skip the drink cus it’s mid. Overall, it’s not the worst, but give it a couple of months once all the students nearby start returning. It’ll start looking like Burger King all over again.”

“Their eggs with faces are so cute! It's $3 each, which is not bad. If you get 5 you get one free! So we got two of each flavor boba milk tea, taro, & egg tart. My favorite was boba milk tea followed by egg tart. I think the boba is the only one with a cold filling, which helps it stay round (*wink wink) & photogenic. The other fillings are hot so not sure if that's why others have ones that burst or flattened. I know some ppl come here just for social media, but this place shouldn't deserve a one-star just bc you can't make your post. The egg cakes are delicious, and I appreciate them making an effort, turning these childhood mini cakes (which they also have) into something even more enjoyable & fun.”
