I had an incredible experience at Plateia GR! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening.
The food was absolutely delicious — everything tasted fresh and authentically Greek. The grilled octopus was tender and perfectly seasoned, the meatballs were so moist and so good, and the gyro was delicious and full of flavor. The tzatziki and warm pita were the best I’ve ever had, and the galaktobouriko at the end of the meal was the perfect sweet finish.
What really stood out was the staff’s genuine hospitality — they took the time to explain the dishes and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.

“The food was ok. No AC in the restaurant and muggy outdoor eating made it hard. I asked for no tomatoes or olives in my salad and she brought me a full plate of tomatoes in my salad so I didn’t eat it as I never return food. The place needs a good cleaning.“

“We were a group of 7 that included two elderly parents, a 7 year-old, and a newborn, to celebrate my mom's birthday. Both the hosts and our waiter went out of their way to help us and make this a special dinner for my mom and our family. Every dish we ordered was great, both the preparation and the taste, including the appetizers, entrees, and the dessert. Nothing was too heavy or overdone. Our waiter was very understanding and accommodated the various dietary preferences and restrictions at the table. She helped us with the surprise at the end for my mom. “What an incredible dining experience at The Silent Sea in City Island, Bronx! From the location to the atmosphere and, of course, the food, everything was outstanding!

The restaurant is perfectly situated right at the entrance to City Island, and having parking available in the back is a huge plus, especially in this area. The atmosphere alone deserves an 11 out of 10!

We started with several appetizers, and every single one was delicious. The Greek fries were hands down the best fries I’ve ever had! The tuna tartare was incredibly fresh, the fried calamari was cooked to perfection, and the fried sardines were absolutely delicious.

For dinner, we ordered the lobster and the baked branzino. Both dishes were exceptional, not only in flavor but also in presentation. You can tell that attention is given to every detail.

Overall, a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a beautiful setting. I highly recommend visiting The Silent Sea! Definitely a place worth coming back to!“

I ordered the pork souvlaki sandwich with a side and it was 12.50!!! In this economy this is a steal! I also ordered their rice and chicken lemon soup because it’s one of my favorite Greek dishes and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to go back and try this place for dinner. “Really enjoyed the takeout I ordered for delivery. The Royal Greens Salads are huge!!! I would say they're twice as big as other salads chains. I wish it was easier though to know the dietary info for the salad dressings as I could not tell which ones were vegan. I love that you can choose your own protein and swap some of the toppings or build your own. I also got the green tofu curry dish from SriPraPhai as well. The sauce was incredibly flavor and I liked the amount of kick it had. It was spicy but not too spicy for me atleast. I do wish it had more tofu in it though as it felt very sauce heavy. I would order takeout from here again especially if I was getting food with someone who wanted something different then me. I appreciate the free delivery and the amazing portion sizes. It's nice to be able to order multiple cuisines as well.“

“First time here. We sat outside on a beautiful day for a late lunch. Service was prompt which was nice and he was attentive. We got a carafe of house white wine which wasn't bad and 3 apps. The beans were great. The fried cheese was salty but good. We wanted the zucchini chips but was offered the fritters. They were not great but we didn't bother switching them out. I think we would go back to try other dishes but only on occasion as the bill was $145 with a good tip.“

Only thing I would change is to add oragano salt and pepper to the gyros and don't blend the tzatziki makes it a bit pasty in texture but flavor was 7/10. The baklava less refrigerated time and more syrup not leaving the tops so dry. Would visit again.“
