The food is made fresh homemade with ♥️Love everyday! Their food is so tasty and the portions are generous. The staff & owner makes you feel part of their family. It’s intimate diner throw back to another time atmosphere is refreshing! The traditional Greek food is out of this world and very reasonably priced. And it has a thriving takeout/ delivery business. “Christos Souvlaki Stand is a gold mine and I say that because there isn't a day that there isn't a swarm of customers gathered here. His souvlaki is the absolute best within the Astoria area!
It's always so fresh, well seasoned and prepared right in front of you and can be topped with whatever sauce you want - my go to is the BBQ sauce.

“The octopus is PERFECTLY cooked. The flavors are incredible. I only wish it came with some potato or salad underneath. We also got the lamb fricassee, that sauce is so lovely and lemony. I think the lamb was just a touch over cooked but that is my only note on that dish. We got a half portion of rice on the side and I would recommend so you can savor every last bit of the sauce! The service is great, and I love the atmosphere. It feels like old New York and you are surrounded by Greek families in the restaurant. They gave bread with a delish vinegar and the end of the meal was a nice rice pudding dessert on the house. I will definitely be coming back!“

We had the tomahawk steak, lamb chops, branzino, calamari, Greek salad, and octopus, and everything was outstanding. It's a great place to celebrate with a larger group if you plan ahead: our table was an 8 top. 10/10, and I can't wait to go back.“

“When it comes to the top 3 food carts for souvlaki in Astoria, I always put Souvlaki Lady in the conversation. I’ve been going there for years, and it never disappoints. The chicken thigh souvlaki is juicy, tender, and perfectly charred, and the pork skewers have that classic smoky flavor I grew up loving. Wrapped in warm pita with tzatziki and a squeeze of lemon, it’s simple, authentic Greek street food done right. For me, it’s one of those old-school Astoria staples that delivers every single time.“

“I got a chicken gyro to eat inside, the lady asked “with everything?” and I said yes. Usually “with everything” means that it has fries (and no lettuce). The one I received did not have fries (it had lettuce). Disappointing. It was still great and had crispy gyro meat. I ate inside the restaurant and at some point a worker opened the door and a horrid dishwasher sewage smell blasted out, in my direction. I had nearly finished eating at that point but my last bites were difficult to swallow.“

“Outstanding bakery. They have a number of hard to find Greek and Mediterranean specialty pastries. Prices are reasonable and there is a nice little seating area on the sidewalk. Namely - they have Kavala cookies. Delicious and crispy. What a treat to find these here.“
