“We ordered assorted gyros, souvlaki, tacos and baklava. The staff was friendly and the service was wonderful. Over all decent and accommodating to the greek culture with a twist of spanish. Only thing I would change is to add oragano salt and pepper to the gyros and don't blend the tzatziki makes it a bit pasty in texture but flavor was 7/10. The baklava less refrigerated time and more syrup not leaving the tops so dry. Would visit again.“

“I discovered Taverna Kos in Astoria through a YouTube video, and I’m so glad I went—it was an excellent experience. The food was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor, but what really stood out was the hospitality. The owner, Mike, was incredibly humble, down-to-earth, and took the time to check in and make sure we felt at home. You can tell he cares deeply about both the food and the people who come through his doors.

The service was phenomenal as was the foo, from the appetizers to the dessert. We ordered the Agean special. The watermelon salad was one of my favorites! After the meal, they brought us two beautifully prepared desserts. And then before we left, the manager spent time talking to us and getting to know us on a more personal level. I had an incredible experience at Plateia GR! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening.

The grilled octopus was tender and perfectly seasoned, the meatballs were so moist and so good, and the gyro was delicious and full of flavor. Ordered grape leaves, spinach pie, the family platter which consisted of plat based gyro, spinach pie, falafel and zucchini fritters and an order of grilled vegetables. Food is plentiful and tasty. “I don’t even know where to start. For starters, I’m out in Suffolk county. I was just in the area for an errand. I have been craving good Greek food for so long. I took a chance on this spot after a few fails at other places on the Island. The prices are a bit high HOWEVER the food was worth it.

Such a delicious and amazing gyro and chicken souvlaki platter. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. The gyro was delicious so flavorful. My mom LOVED the baklava she hasn’t had one like it in years. I really wanted good tzatziki sauce. THIS HIT THE SPOT!!! 100% hit the spot.

The platter came with fries and a delicious Greek salad.
