“Went for the happy hour, stayed for the service

We went for some happy hour but the drafts happened to be down. Our waiter was pleasant and accommodating so we stayed anyway for some beer and appetizers. Came for happy hour but left happy even without it.“

“I came specifically for the kimchi cold noodle broth, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Honestly, I enjoyed it even more than traditional naengmyeon. It was incredibly refreshing, flavorful, and perfect on a warm day.

The kimchi pancake was another standout. The edges were perfectly crispy while the center stayed soft and tender—a texture that a lot of restaurants miss, but Dangol nailed it.

We also ordered the rice balls. They were just okay. The filling was a bit sparse, so they mostly tasted like lightly seasoned rice. Not bad, but probably the only dish I wouldn’t rush to order again.

Lastly, we had the cold pig’s feet with salad, which was surprisingly refreshing. The wasabi sauce had a great kick, and the crisp chopped salad balanced everything really well.

Overall, the food was excellent—honestly better than some full-fledged Korean restaurants I’ve been to. The menu has so many k-dishes that it’s hard to believe this spot is just a bar food stop when they have way more than other joints. Can’t wait to see what else they got!“

“Neighborhood gem. Great decor, homey, comfortable but well appointed. I have dined here alone and with family, both times it was a good atmosphere. GM Michael is really good and runs a good staff. The food is delicious- good for all types of diet restrictions. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Last but not least also great cocktails. Host and server were friendly and attentive. I will for sure be coming back here!“

“Between the aimrt and the staff, this place is awesome. I have heard that the beer is also awesome here too(but I can't drink it). However they have more than beer and they have na too! They play all the major sports if that's your thing. You can reserve tables for parties. Beers are great, staff are great! Seriously give them all the tips. And they often have pop up food, whis had always been spot on! Tonight was good by Q! Yummm... I hope you get a Q food night! Also, all bathrooms are non gendered and clean. Drink here be happy..“

“We had an informal baby shower drop-in at Pinkerton recently and it was the best experience. The manager and owner were so helpful before hand - helping me figure out the menu, ordering a few non-alc wines, make sense of the space - and then were accommodating, gracious, and so responsive during the event. And the food, atmosphere, music, was perfect.“

“Finally decided to try Bernie’s and I was so pleased with my experience. They do the simple things SO well. By far the best moz sticks I’ve ever had. The burger was incredibly solid. The Cesar could’ve used a bit for dressing. I also got the tiramisu special and it was HUGE. Omg I couldn’t finish it all by myself but you definitely get your moneys worth. I think everything was a fair price for amount and size that you are getting . Will be back and bringing friends!“

“What a hidden gem! Namdo Brooklyn has a lovely, modern interior with a cozy, hole-in-the-wall vibe that makes it absolutely perfect for a date night. Unlike a lot of trendy spots, it wasn't overly loud, so we could actually sit back and enjoy a great conversation.
The perilla seed oil noodles were incredibly flavorful- as a Korean tryuly enjoyed it and Yangneum fried chicken was crispy & sauce was tasty reminded me the famous one in Sokcho, Korea that I craved! My husband loved the kimchi fried rice with pork belly-!

“After a long walk on the Upper West Side, I came across this spot. It was very nice, with a great selection of beers to help beat the heat. I really enjoyed it and will be coming back to get one of those big cans to go. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. The arcade machine was a total plus. I love those things. And the art in the bathroom was also very interesting.“

“Delicious Authentic Middle Eastern falafel and shawarma. It's a place that focuses on just that, but does it really well. Every element of the 'sandwich' is made to perfection! The pita is fresh and warm, the shawarma is cooked perfectly on the rotisserie, and each topping is delicious- the humus, tehina, amba, onions... plus ... served with a smile! Open late too!“

“One of my fav Astoria bars. I lowkey don't even want to leave this review because I don't want it to be too crowded lol. But the staff and the owner both have a heart of gold and the hotdogs are so delicious. I'm not even a hotdog person but the combinations of flavors are just really unique and delicious + great cocktails local beers and frozen rotating drinks. The vibes are really chill and there are so many cool events like the Best Judy piano bar for all the singing, music and theater fans, Drag Bingo hosted by the fabulous Haireola Grande, trivia, and the creatives hang out hosted by the Quitting Factory to name a few. “I live in Forest Hills and I’ve been to this place a few times in the last few months with some friends and let me tell you their beer doesn’t taste any better then a cheap beer or ale from the 99 cent store. I really don’t like to write bad reviews to businesses especially with the pandemic and how bars/ restaurants are struggling to make ends meet today, but I really have had it with this so called owner that was beyond rude to me after I stopped by and used the restroom. I have come as a customer a few times and really needed to make an emergency restroom stop. Since I had patronized his establishment before, I didn’t think it would be a big deal to quickly use the restroom. When I got out of the restroom the owner was very rude and nasty to me, telling me to never come back to his bar. I asked him why and he said because I wasn’t spending money and that my type shouldn’t be allowed to come to his place. I was appalled at his behavior and attitude and told him I will gladly not ever return.“

“Gold Star is the perfect neighborhood beer bar. It features an excellent rotating selection of brews served by friendly and knowledgeable barkeeps. The inside bar is chill with eclectic music wafting from the turntable. The sidewalk seating is my favorite place in Brooklyn to enjoy a cold beer on a nice day. And their little kitchen serves up tasty sandwiches, cheeses, and meats. It does get crowded on the weekend, so sneak out on a Tuesday afternoon and get yourself a beer.“

“(Nov 2014) Uber cool high tech mod fitout and no shortage of opinionated beer nerds (complete with obligatory cult brewery t-shirts). Even at 2pm on a Sunday arvo. Doesn’t quite have the warm of a traditional US bar but still pretty friendly. Very international list with a focus on left of centre. Pricing on the high side but reflects the quality of the beers. Served via cabernet glasses - a nice touch. I really grew to like the place and they use a small space well. Can I say it reminds me of Two Row in Melbourne? And....btw....the only other bar I have ever seen where punters are punching out tasting notes!“

“Definitely the best pub in this area. They have done a wonderful job renovating this spot and created the perfect neighborhood bar atmosphere. Great drinks and a perfect pint of Guinness. The food is also excellent, one of the best smash burgers in town and always check out their rotating specials. The owners are great and know how to run a great establishment. This is a must visit.“

“I came in late last Friday night for a night cap with a couple of friends and had a great time. The bartender working that evening was incredibly welcoming and did an amazing job. It was refreshing to see a woman behind the bar (my friend who visits regularly commented that she normally has only seen male staff), and we really enjoyed the positive vibe she brought to the space. We had such a wonderful experience that we ended up staying much longer than we originally intended.

The dim lighting gave off the effect as though the pub was candle lit. It wasnt crowded but at least 77% full at nearly 3am.“
