“First I worried because it looked not many people inside at 5:30. However each side dishes tasted great. Grilled mackerel tasted so good and fresh. Bossam, steamed pork was good. Ssambab was great with full dishes of fresh vegetables ( I didn’t expect that much because it was winter. All veggies are expensive)Potions enough. I was so satisfied. I will happily recommend this place to my friends. Owner lady looks pride if her food and not so fast but enough kind to refill side dishes. We cleaned all our orders.“
“Beef soup is all they serve. Soup is flavorful and delish. Comes with side dishes spicy turnip, fried eggs, white rice, and a small package of seaweed. I always get takeout. The ladies up front have always been pleasant to deal with. Please note they get very busy and wait times can sometimes be long. I try to call my order in ahead of time before I pick up.“
“I am a public school teacher in Brooklyn. In our school, students learn the Korean language and culture under the foreign language curriculum.I took 30 students on a field trip to Queens Korean town, and we had lunch here at Sodam.Their food and services were fantastic! We are truly grateful for your interest and support in our school and community! We can't wait to visit again!!Thank you so much! From: Vista“
“I've been a block away from this place for a few years and I'm honestly upset I didn't try them sooner. After about a dozen times trying them, I can honestly say I love this spot. Everything tastes great, the portions are generous and there's a good variety of banchan. The gamjatang, croaker fish and mandu are a few of my favorites but honestly everything has been delicious so far. A gem of the neighborhood, without a doubt. I wish them as much success as they can handle.“
“Fast service and a lot of food! My friend and I stopped by lunch on a weekday and it was pretty empty. We got a few things to share and everything was good. I was particularly craving stew cuz it was cold and their army stew hit just the spot for me.“
“My opinion is 8.7/10. Overall good time. Bonchon hit right, over 5 choices. Meat was tender and flavorful. Well priced at $45 for galbi and sides. The service was selective but the person serving me up the galbi was great. Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below. “First of all, from the moment you eat a spoonful of chicken soup, chicken soup is so good that you can automatically hear the sound of ah from the deep danteon!Gamjatang, boiled white pancakes, and green onion pancakes are all delicious. The pork ribs are also really delicious!!All staff are friendly! After eating chicken doritang or gamjatang, they also stir-fry rice!!Parking: If you go to the back of the store, there are about 3 seats.“
“My best friend met her now husband here and we came back here for their proposal recently. Such a lovely place for their story! The staff was as nice and competent as they were years ago. Food is amazing! Perfect go to every day of the week.“
“All time favorite korean pork bbq restaurant in ktown, that is the real authentic ktown in flushing, not touristy and hyped up or wanna be hot and viral spot of ktown in Manhattan. I'm a long time patron of this fine, no frills and straightforward pork heaven that this establishment has to offer. I always go for the soy bean paste marinated pork belly on their crystal based grill cooked by lovely ladies who could be perceived curt and indifferent if you are not used to them , lol.It doesn't hurt that they always hook me up with a bottle of soju in pork heaven.“
“We walked by this restaurant and decided to have a light dinner after having shaved-ice nearby on a hot day. This is a typical casual KBBQ joint with pretty good charcoal BBQ and good service. We ordered the Kalbi and Squid, both good quality and quite tasty.A neighborhood gem, so glad we gave it a shot and we will be back with friends to try different meats/items next time.“
“So glad to find a new tofu place to go to. Missed BCD, and this place really hit the spot. The menu has much more options and food was delish! I ordered the LA Galbi combo with kimchi tofu. Def recommend coming here. Just a heads up there is parking lot but it's a very busy area. I recommend coming early and a weekday.“
“Got the pork/kimchi and shrimp 물만두 (mul Mandu). I’m definitely more of a thin dumpling-casing person but if you like thicker skin/chewy dumplings, authentic Korean/Chinese-owned places like these are hard to come by. Highly recommend the massive $3.50 kimchi pork bun. It also looks like they have a great selection of frozen homemade dumplings to-go and some classic Korean side dishes in fridges to-go.Highly recommend getting the dumplings to go on a cold day and having without sauce. They are full of flavor just as they are!Worth swinging by at least once!“
“Great food and great local spot to have some raw marinated crab!! The army stew was superb as well and was the perfect portion for the 4 of us and we finished it all. Service was by a Korean Aunty and she was super warm and nice and attentive despite it being so busy. Definitely deserved the tip. Atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and it felt like I was in Korea! The only thing I wouldn't really recommend is the Bossam (pork belly with cabbage and oysters) because 3 of us had the oysters and we were bedridden sick with some sort of stomach virus for 2 weeks the moment we got home. Not sure if it was the oysters or not but theyre a pretty big suspect since we did not eat anything else that day. Other than that, everything else was amazing and would come back again for some more stew and crab on a cold day!“
“Solid place to grab quickie but well prepared comfort Korean food. Large variety of kimbop, dukbokki, dumpling noodle/soups etc. This place transports me to distant memories of my youth in Korea when I thought a plate of saucy katsu, scoop of macaroni and a scoop of rice was the height of western fine dining - they have that here (with cheese on top!) :-)“
“This spot was adorable. Tiny petite Asian ladies with big personalities. The lady kept saying I got the VIP table because I came alone. She was cracking me up. I got the wide noodles with kimchi and chicken. She told me it's not good with tofu. Lmfao. The portions are pretty big. Most people took the food to go. Tip is cash only. So I paid by card, rushed to find a bank to pull out cash (luckily Chase was a block away). The ladies were appreciative and sweet. It's a cute spot with a lot of local clients. Adored it.“
“Gamjatang here is great, like everyone else said. Very legit, same as the ones I had in South Korea with good portions. It has a nice kick and is the perfect hangover remedy. It also pairs so well with some rice and soju. The meat to bone ratio is like 1:1 so not the most IDEAL if you think you can pick up a piece of the pork bone and gnaw off a chunk of meat but it still satisfied my gamjatang craving (if that's even a thing). This is one of those legit Korean joints and you can tell cuz they have a self-service water station just like restaurants in S Korea lol“
“Honestly my favorite spot for Malatang. They have their homemade sauce to go with the Malatang which is an amazing addition too. It might look a bit sketch as it's literally inside Main Plaza 时代商场 and out in the open with tables. It surprisingly is pretty enjoyable (for me) to just sit there and enjoy my meal.“
“They accept card! I avoided coming here for that very reason, but when we finally took the opportunity one day, we were in for some of the best Korean food in the area. The grandma taking our order made the experience extra heartwarming. We came here a second time, and the worker, who I would think is the son, was just as kind. I'm so glad I got to try their Donkatsu Roll ($10). Fried pork cutlets wrapped in rice and seaweed belong together harmoniously, despite my initial skeptical thought of crispy breaded batter against soft rice. I wasn't expecting the Omelette Rice ($15) to taste so good, but the egg was the perfect consistency, adding an extra creaminess to the fried rice. This would be my go-to whenever I crave Korean food in Flushing.“
“This is a hangover soup restaurant open 24 hours a day in New York. It's a great place to hang out after drinking with friends late into the evening. The food is all okay. “Our family ordered catering from Hansol yesterday. The food was very delicious and well-prepared. The packaging was also very attentive so the food was fine after the drive to our destination. Thank you Hansol for taking very good care of us and the food was very delicious! Everyone enjoyed it very much! :)“
“Kalguksoo is good for sure, seafood oko pajun is great too. But pajun was about $30 and noodles were about well over $20 lol. Expect to spend about $50 per person. Although, one individual can't finish pajun.. $30 is wild lol food itself is great but if you're ok with paying that price, go for it.“
