Gottscheer Hall is a fixture of Ridgewood and has been for decades. It does an excellent job at bridging the gap between the old neighborhood and the infusion of the new crowd in a way in which everyone feels welcome. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and their selection of German beer pretty much guarantees something for everyone. This place always amazes me every time I go. There are nights where they host Karoake and its clearly overtaken by the younger crowd. There are nights where it's a local watering hole with only a few people sharing a beer and a laugh.Either way, the staff and service at Gottscheer Hall is always the same. They're super friendly, personable, and the food is always delicious no matter how many people show up.It's been around for a 100 years? Here's to hoping its 100 more.

Went here for the first time was greeted by Tony at the bar very friendly and professional. Very comfy inside. The food is amazing from pretzel to burger to Goulash and spaetzle and apple strudle. Must try you don't be disappointed.
