DO NOT support this restaurant in the heart of Spanish Harlem. I was denied bathroom access and looked at as if I wasn’t even from this community. This is gentrification at its FINEST when not even people from this neighborhood can utilize their facilities!
the oysters were served to us still frozen
The oysters were on point!

Alison is a charming East Harlem restaurant with a lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu features dishes such as the tender lambchop appetizer with couscous and labneh, and the salmon with ultra-crispy skin. The restaurant is known for its jazz nights, and the patio is a cozy spot for lunch with friends. Recent reviews mention that it is a good place to enjoy time with friends, offering a simple and relaxing environment. The food is generally good, with highlights like the Mediterranean salad and chicken kale salad. The happy hour offers decent deals, including shrimp tacos and a variety of drinks, although some found the portions to be high priced for their size. The service is attentive and friendly, but experiences can vary; some customers noted that service on a quiet day was average, and the bathroom may not be spotless. Visitors have enjoyed oysters, tacos, sliders, and sangria, describing the happy hour as awesome. The staff, including the front-of-the-house team, are hospitable and eager to provide a good experience. Overall, Alison remains a nice spot for a quick bite or to unwind with friends, with a good selection of dishes and a welcoming atmosphere.
