“It's Saturday and decided to bring my wife for a quick date night. The place looks cozy and the food selection looks pretty unique. I had the Wagyu burger while she had the Beef rib with bone marrow. Both food came out good and we will definitely come back.“

“One of my favorite restaurants in all of Astoria! My husband and I always bring friends and family here when they visit the neighborhood. The staff is always so incredibly nice and generous (Miljan is usually our server and is so attentive and hilarious). We always have a wonderful time here, whether it’s a quiet weekday lunch or a packed Saturday night.“

“As per most of my other recent reviews, I went to this Southern spot several months back. We went here after they had unexpectedly gone on the best new restaurants list having barely heard about the restaurant otherwise. The lighting was nice here and the staff was friendly giving good recommendations. They have ample space as well. The spot has a fun creative cocktail menu which are reasonably priced with some drinks having rather humorous names. I went with the A Complex Cocktail For Bitter People for $15 which is their take on a Negroni with roots of ruin gin, saffron liqueur, and vermouth di torino bianco which was excellent. The cocktail had a nice presentation with the vivid off yellow and the flower and it had a nice balance of bitterness, citrus, and herbal flavors. This was excellent though not on the current drink menu. They also had the opposite named A Bitter Cocktail For Complex People which was their take on a Manhattan along with plenty of other choices. As per usual for food, we split a lot of dishes. For smaller plates, my favorite was the Country Fried Baby Back Ribs for $16 with dill & vinegar and jezebel sauce. This sauce in question contains fruit jelly and combined with the dill and vinegar; it was a nice mix of sour and sweet with very tender ribs which weren't too heavily fried. Excellent. Also tasty was the Hush Puppies for $10 with jalapeno, cheddar, popcorn, and remoulade. They were lighter than expected with a little kick and the popcorn was fun for presentation. I think the remoulade should be on this side and not presented on top but I guess it's more artful that way. OK was the Crab Cake for $24 listed as corn flake crusted with whole grain mustard, radish, and herb salad. It was a bit pricey and the flavors didn't pop as much as the other appetizers. The mustard was a fun spin but perhaps don't order this as this is probably one of the only overpriced things on the menu outside of perhaps the steak. We ordered two main dishes; the Roasted Rib Cap and the Crispy 1/2 Chicken which were both fine. The former for $42 with bourbon worcestershire caramel consisted of a very tender steak though maybe a bit small. The sauce indeed had some sweetness but there was a bit of salt on the steak so it was pretty well balanced. The latter dish for $26 with`bama white sauce and herbs was solid. Tender fried chicken with a fun presentation. No real major complaints though I am not exactly sure if it is half a chicken (probably is though.) The restaurant is also known for it's desserts so we got both to share which are both $12. Of the two, my preference was the Key Lime Tart with toasted coconut and candied lime zest. I haven't had many good key lime tarts in the city and this was excellent as it wasn't too sour or sweet. The candied lime zest on top as well as the coconut just added extra pizzazz. I almost found the latter Banana Pudding Tart with caramel and vanilla wafers to be a bit worse. It was well presented as per the other dessert and it was plenty rich but it was perhaps a bit too sweet with the amount of caramel they put on top. This is a fun spin on Southern food which isn't exactly a cuisine you find commonly enhanced. The desserts and appetizers were definitely better than the entrees but the entrees weren't too shabby either. Upper 3/low 4.“

“I absolutely love the energy/vibe in this place! Music and food was great! The drinks were absolutely delicious and the customer service was spectacular. All the employees were great! Shout out to Darren, Mauricio and Melissa and the kitchen staff they made my night and the experience so amazing that I can't wait to go back. If I lived closer, this would definitely be my after-work spot. I'm looking forward to going there again.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our second time here and it has quickly become one of our goto places in Astoria. From the greeting at the door to the selection of great wine and cocktails- all unique because the are craft brews- to the staff answering our many questions about the very different and delicious menu to the quality of the food- an awesome experience. Last week we were there and enjoyed live jazz and the musicians mingled and talked with us. The decor is very comfortable. Looking forward to attending the special event nights, too. “Don’t let the outside fool you, always walked past but the inside has a whole different atmosphere. It’s rather lovely and reminds me of France/Italy, fresh flowers and staff is amazing! Not to mention how amazing the food is! Some of the best food in Astoria, heaven for vegetarians. “Cello is a cozy spot with a decent selection of drinks (beer, wine, spirits) and small plates. The interior is really charming, with wood and exposed brick making it feel more like a relative's home than a bar in midtown Manhattan. There's bar seating, and a few small tables. Overall not many seats, expect a wait if you try to come at peak times. Drinks were fine -- good beer selection and a list of cocktails that was balanced, without being overwhelming. Service was excellent, the bartenders were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a more intimate get together or a date!“

“It was date night!!! Double date night that is. My close boy and I planned a secret double date with our significant other. They did not know it was a double until we met up at the door of Salvaje social club. let me just say the ambiance did not disappoint at all, the wild jungle theme had me loving every minute of my walk in and stay. Throughout the night the smoke machine would random blow smoke give the place a misty look. The music was pumping all night long and kept us in an upbeat vibe. The selection of music was mainly Spanish music, they did sprinkle in some English music but for most the night it was reggaeton etc. Although I didn't understand what was being said I surely loved the beat of every song that played. The staff at salvaje was very quick, informative of the menu, polite and friendly. We started off with the seeds of passion which was very tasty and strong. We did two rounds of that drink, couldn't get enough of it lol. I then had a Hennessy and pineapple juice , I don't know what pineapple juice was used but it was so good along with the Hennessy. For starters we had the shrimp toastadas and let me tell you it was amazing , I highly recommend it. Two of us ordered the Milton's rice and the other two ordered chicken on the cut. The rice was well fried and seasoned along with the shrimp, it was just a bit salty but i still loved it, the food really did not let me down at all. We stuck around after eating to drink more and dance a bit during our stay. I'll give Salvaje a 10/10 for vibes 10/10 for drinks 9/10 for Food 10/10 for service 10/10 for ambiance“

“Coziest wine bar ever with the best service. Get here early on the weekends because it's small and gets busy. I've had the brownie, the mussels, oysters, and hummus and all were delicious. I even asked for a non red pairing for the brownie and it paired well lol. Last time I was here I brought a book to read and they made the lighting a little brighter for me. All in all great.“

“The staff helps in the selection and number of tapas. All of them, from different Spanish and Latin American gastronomic varieties, are excellent. Very careful preparation and presentation. The space between the tables allows for conversation without interference from the neighbor or the feeling of the neighbor's ear hanging. The feeling in summary is extremely pleasant. “There is not much variety of food, the atmosphere is good but there is no place to give celebration surprises, I didn't like that. I went to celebrate my first year anniversary and I couldn't give the surprise because they didn't do that there. That's what I liked. I'm quite disappointed.“

“Happy hour did not disappoint! My friend and I ordered a few happy hour items to share, and the dip trio is a definite must-try. The hummus was incredibly smooth and perfectly seasoned. The romanesco was a recommendation from our server, and it was my personal favorite. Kinda reminiscent of buffalo sauce because of the tang and spice, goes very well with the pita. The feta-lebneh was interesting, very pungent and strong in flavor but I still enjoyed it. The chicken sliders were seasoned super well, but a little messy to eat since the pita slice buns were thin. The kale salad was a good way to balance out our spread, and the pinenuts and cheese added good texture and flavor. Great place to catch up with a friend or have a date night!“

“I had a great time on Friday night at our friend's birthday celebration at Marbella. The staff is wonderful, so friendly ! Marcello was very attentive and made sure we had a great time AND we always had a drink. A++ The room is very spacious and festive. The cocktail hour was great! Had a lot of my favorite bites, like seafood croquettes and tortilla espanola! Dinner was lovely, buffet with items such as pork loin, arroz con pollo and stuffed filet of sole which I really enjoyed. (if u know me, you know i dont eat fish, my hubby couldnt believe i ate this piece of sole! so good!) Lastly...Sangria, my drink of choice always...was a constant on the table and I couldnt be happier! I will definately be visiting the restaurant very soon!“

I reserved the indoor back room along with several plates of food and some sangria pitchers, all of which was perfect to keep the party going for hours. Since I was spending all day eatin gin Greenpoint anyway, I decided to give it a shot CLASSIC SHOYU Ok, so I will say that that yes the broth is better than you might expect from a regular ramen place but not quite meeting standards of "you GOT to come to greenpoint to try this place." However, if you live here or in a neighboring area, DO order out when want ramen. The noodles though are really great quality and have a perfect chew, with wavy shape which is my preference. The meat is nice and salty. If I'm back in the neighborhood, I would definitely come back!“

“Definitely one of my favorite yakitori spots. This place can get packed at night although the wait usually moves pretty quickly, it can be long if your timing is unlucky. I really only ever get yakitori here. They have a lot of fried options, I gave a lot of them a try, but never really liked any of them (and I generally like fried food, who doesn't?!?) maybe I am just more familiar with the traditional grilled yakitori, I would recommend sticking mostly with that. I can't say which item is my favorite, I really like everything! Definitely ask for extra lemon wedges, the acid really goes well with the smokiness of the meats. Can't wait to come back again!“

The venue was everything we wanted- Spanish decor, moody, romantic, cozy, and beautiful greenery in the courtyard and deck. The food and cocktails were delicious! Our event coordinator, Lee, is knowledgeable, super responsive, and organized. The staff was well equipped, attentive, and knew how to run an event. Our wedding went smoothly and Lee was there to address any unexpected concerns and provide support throughout the day. “From the outside looking in, it appears as a "if you're not known don't come in" type of establishment. It's not! Don't let that fool you. The interior setup is rustic for lack of a better word. Definitely gives the place its vibe. Noise level is that of a constant chatter with some music in the background. I believe Gill hosted us and he was very helpful. We had two spicy margaritas and I enjoyed mine. My daughter's wasn't as hot as she had liked it or thought it would and Gill had no problem adjusting it for her. We ordered the guac and I'm not a fan of it. However, this one tasted good. I had the plantains and meat and mushroom ensemble. It's an appetizer and it was great. Blended well with each other. My daughter had the steak tacos and she loved it. Overall the price is what you make it. I enjoyed myself, my daughter got a new place to call home and I'll be back to visit Alcove.“

“One of my favorite dining experiences in a while. The prices were very reasonable, but the food and service were amazing. We went on a Saturday and our server (I believe Argentinian?) was incredible, not pushy at all, and timed out the meal beautifully. She didn't try to upsell, but was attentive and we had no problem being there for almost four hours while having different dishes. The food itself was fantastic - highly recommend the steak, empanadas (amazing sauce), and the croquettes. Also a very nice atmosphere and great drinks. Will go back for sure.“

“I've dined in many places in the area. The rusty face is by far my favorite go to spot for any occasion. It has everything, phenomenal food, slamming drinks, great music, tasteful decor and an awesome ambiance. I've brought dates there, had close knit family dinners and even had my mother's 60th birthday at the rusty face. That place never misses. 10 for 10. The best part of the whole establishment is the owner, Illy. He treats every guest like a close personal friend because he genuinely cares about your experience and his restaurant. I've eaten all kinds of food since I was a kid. The rusty face is now the only place I'll order grilled octopus and my son who is kind of a picky eater, now loves lamb because of this spot. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself and loved ones to a meal at the rusty face. You won't be disappointed.Kid-friendliness: The owner loves everyone. Bring the whole family!
