“Porta 23 has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Astoria. The food is consistently excellent, the cocktails are creative, and the service always makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, whether you’re stopping in for dinner, drinks, or watching a match with friends.

The weekly specials make it even better. Taco Tuesday is one of the best deals around with three tacos and a margarita, Wednesday’s All Night Happy Hour is always worth checking out, and their weekend brunch is easily one of the best in the neighborhood.

If you’re a soccer fan, this is also an incredible place to catch the World Cup. Watching the matches on the projector and big screen with great food and drinks creates an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.

Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. Porta 23 is the kind of neighborhood restaurant you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. Highly recommended.“

We had about 20 guests in the back lounge area which was just for our party. The food and drinks were amazing. The service was very quick. “157 Tavern has been a staple in the area for 10 years and is an excellent choice for parties or group gatherings. You can simply provide them with your budget, and they will curate the menu for you, which makes the planning process very convenient.

Regarding the food:

Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.

Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.

King Salmon: Quite tender.

Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.

Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

“Wanted to give a huge shout out to Cameron. I took ill today and was graciously allowed to use their bathroom despite not being a customer. In the midst of trying to get myself together, I left my phone behind.
On calling, Cameron answered my phone and held onto it until my partner could return to collect it.
I’m due to fly home to Australia on Monday. Had Cameron not ensured my phone was safe, my last days in NYC could have been awful. But now my overriding memory will be of the friendliness, honestly and helpfulness of the wonderful New Yorkers I have met.
You did yourself, your restaurant and your city proud today Cameron. Thank you so much.

“I absolutely love Masquerade. It’s a home away from home and their SAG Eclipse cocktail is one of my all-time favorites.

Their menu has changed through the years but I’d say right now their food is great! I love their Tahchin and Chicken (the tomato and onion on the side is delightful).

On top of all this, their staff are kind and friendly. What else could you want?“

A standout experiential highlight is the DIY scallop gimbap. For the mains, the duck bulgogi was our favorite: umami, savory, and sweet notes, all tied together with a deeply satisfying charred, smoky finish. “Went here on a whim to celebrate our friends special ocassion. The interior is nicely decorated and quiet. We ordered some patatas bravas, cheese and ham platter, white sangria and the chicken! Our food was brought our promptly and we enjoyed our food and drinks. The plates were easily shareable among 4 people and the food was good. The star was definitely the chicken. I'm not sure what they put in that chicken or how they cooked it but it was delicious. One of our friends declared ir the best chicken he's had in his life.

“Here's the review Spencer wrote for you: My family and I just visited to celebrate my grandsons birthday- we like to get a bunch of plates and share family style and this menu was perfect for that. You have to get mezze and extra bread (must try the kubane). We also ended up getting three orders of the shishbarak for the six of us, it is way too good! I got the salmon for my entree which was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. Spencer our server recommended the silan and the cheesecake for dessert so we shared those and boy were they something special- I can’t pick a favorite! He brought us a candle and we got some great pictures. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.“

“We were in the area and were looking for a dinner spot.

We ordered almost everything on the menu. The appetizers, the entrees, etc and split everything. Out of everything on the menu the rice, potatoes and sausage were our favorites. If you go with a group I recommend ordering the shared plates, appetizers and dessert.

The churros were amazing too!

“I went to Plado for the first time last night with a couple of friends who had already been there several times and raved about it. They were not wrong to rave! The food was simply superb. Every dish was an experience to savor. It actually made me stop and slow down so I could enjoy what was happening in my mouth. Everything had various levels of flavor that made the experience worthwhile. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Standouts for me were hard to choose but if I had to, the taro gnocchi, duck confit, and roasted carrots were my favorite. Desserts were out of this world delicious and unique so I encourage everyone to save room. The ambiance is lovely and the chef and his wife are warm and welcoming. “I stopped by this little Spanish tapas bar in Soho, and it was such a lovely surprise. The atmosphere is simple and warm, with a friendly, almost family-style vibe. The service was very cordial, and even though the place isn’t trying to be fancy, it feels authentic in the best way.
The food brought me straight back to my childhood. I tried the tortilla, a toast with calamari, another one with ham and cheese, and some croquettes — everything was delicious and comforting, just like my grandmother’s cooking. The flavors were exactly what Spanish tapas should be: honest, flavorful, and made with care.

I said I wanted to be outside, have great food, and be in a place where we could have a conversation without having to shout across the table - and My Moon hit the ball out of the park.

I almost don't want to write this review because it is one of the few hidden gems left in Williamsburg, but I had such a wonderful experience I want to pay it forward. You step off of 10th into the most beautiful oasis garden patio (I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of it!), we sat in the partially covered patio, which was great as the wind picked up. It literally felt like an oasis.

We opted for tapas (patatas bravas, octopus, croquettes de jamón, and a salad) and a bottle of wine to share. The food came out quickly, was delicious, and the service was great. The staff surprised us with the chocolate lava cake when we finished - I think a little bird told them it was my birthday 😂😂

Overall 12/10 will absolutely go again, it's already my list to take family when they come visit.“
