About Tootles & French

Tootles & French is a lively and welcoming wine bar and bistro located on Ditmars Boulevard in northern Queens. It has quickly become a favorite spot in the neighborhood, earning recognition as one of the country's best new dining venues. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of wines, with 20 available by the glass and over 300 bottles, featuring small-batch and family-produced wines. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with polished wood accents, warm lighting, and a private back lounge that makes it perfect for both intimate dates and group gatherings.

The culinary offerings are inspired by a fusion of French, American, and Mexican influences. Chef Jose Luis creates a seasonal menu with standout dishes like Steak Frites au Poivre, Wild Boar Bourguignon over aligot mashed potatoes, and vegetarian options such as the Vegetarian Chopped Cheese. The charcuterie boards are beautifully curated to pair with wines, and the house-made gelato provides a sweet ending. The food consistently receives praise for being flavorful and well-prepared, with dishes such as roast wild boar, octopus carpaccio, goat cheese fritters, and chicken lollipops.

Tootles & French also offers lively events, including Sunday jazz brunches, trivia nights, regional wine dinners, and cocktail classes. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, though it can occasionally be slower during busy times. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for weekend brunch or after 7:30 PM. Overall, the spot combines a relaxed community vibe with bold culinary risks, making it a must-visit destination that offers a memorable, neighborhood-first experience.

Loved the food and cocktail menu. You can tell that the establishment knows their food, wine, etc and it comes off in the drinks and food!

This place is pretty homophobic to be honest, they trash talk their lgbt customers and clients.

There wasn’t a place to show that these people are homophobic bigots. They trash talk and don’t have a kind bone in their bodies
