“The experience at this restaurant was incredible from the moment you step in. The decor is beautiful with flowers surrounding you. The staff is attentive and nice. The food was incredible especially the fried vegetable dumplings. The bathroom was clean. There was enough space and privacy between tables. I highly recommend coming here!“
“Immediately as we walked in, we were hit by an amazing aroma of food to Billie Holiday playing. I was immediately impressed. Service was good, food was quick to come out, and servers were kind and speedy! Would rate this 10/10 if I could, definitely coming back!“
“This is true Japan. Real Japan. A modest restaurant of the highest quality. A small space on a side street. This is authentic Japan. There are two tables and a counter - 12 seats total. The chefs are right there. The server too, all are soft spoken and focused on their craft. The food is... The food is... The food is so good. So, so good. The sashimi melted, balanced with the spicy thing. The mazeman incredible, full of umami and flavor. The ramen healed my soul :)Do me a favor if you go... Eat, enjoy and leave. Be efficient... Be respectful. Be Japanese. It's a small space, they're too nice to move you along, but c'mon, allow them to serve more people and make more money“
“My favorite ramen joint in New York! Go here on a jazz night if you can, because the ambience with the artists is even more incredible. This is my 3rd time here, and while everything is great, I’d specifically recommend: spicy ramen, spicy tsukemen, oysters mp, and mango kakigori. Between the freshly made noodles and flavorful broths, all of the noodle dishes are the perfect cozy meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the oysters, which came with a yuzu mint vinaigrette that added a bright vibrancy to each oyster. Don’t shy away from getting dessert the end! The shaved ice is a great way to end on a refreshing note without feeling bogged down by sugar. Note that this place fills up quick, so reserve in advance or come early to beat the wait. “Our experience at NR, was mostly positive. The Japanese fried chicken appetizer left us underwhelmed, lacking that special touch. However, the chicken soup curry stole the show with its amazing taste and generous portion size, making it a preferable choice over the ramen.Speaking of ramen, while it wasn't bad, it didn't quite justify making a special trip here for it. There are other spots in the city that excel in ramen. On the bright side, the service was excellent, and the ambiance had a charming speakeasy vibe, evoking the essence of old NYC.Overall, NR is a great spot to visit with a date or friends, offering a delightful experience with standout dishes like the chicken soup curry. However, if you're solely craving ramen, you might find better options elsewhere in the city.“
“Giving it a 4 stars because the effort and intent was there, but the Miso ramen was unfortunately too rich for my tastes and I couldn't finish the broth, although the wavy noodles were perfect, very Q. The Karaage was some of the best I've ever had - it came out quickly and straight out of the fryer and it was melting in my mouth. One waitress was working the whole restaurant and was doing a fantastic job. 5 star service for sure.“
“Tucked away out of plain view, the charming interior and beyond exceptional cuisine make this place a 10/10. ROKC exhibits true craft and ownership of the dishes and drinks they put forth and you can tell they love what they do. Their cocktail menu is true artistry, an experience within itself.“
“Whether one is a novice or ramen aficionado, the Tomato Beef Stew Noodle is a good soup to try. The entree was reminiscent of a beef sinigang albeit without the tamarind. The boneless meat just melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was warm and so was the service. There is also a kiosk available near the door of one wishes to order takeout.“
“I’m addicted to eating these instant ramen noodles with the birria meat ?!! It was super delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly, and the meat was very savory, it also had a touch of spice to it, which made it even better ??!I also enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant it was very minimal and cute to eat alone or with friends. I met the owners of the restaurant and they were very kind and helpful when I came my first time ☺️“
“Decent ramen for the price point at lunch, it’ll definitely hit the spot for anyone craving for ramen. Well cooked noodles and the broth (in the style of tonkotsu)was well made with a well developed richness and balance, service was very prompt and food came very quickly.“
“Came here with a friend around 5:30PM on a Saturday and it was pretty packed. We ordered the Maesil Collins and Strawberry Fields cocktails--both were sweet and delicious. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage, Halmoni Mandu, Wild Mushroom Pajeon, Salmon Jang, Sesame Ice Cream, and Persimmon Ice Cream special. The highlight was definitely the ice cream! The chicken and mandu were really good but the ice cream!! I'm personally not a big fan of sesame but the gochujang caramel swirl intrigued me and the server recommended it so we decided to try it & it tasted absolutely amazing!!! The gochujang caramel was sweet with a tiny kick and it went so well with the sesame. Life changing!! The persimmon ice cream was also amazing with the crumble and persimmon bits, it was light and refreshing!! 10/10 would recommend ordering the chicken, mandu, and definitely the ice cream! I'll be coming back again!“
“Whoever said this place is a hidden gem was right. I went early to avoid the happy hour rush. That said you get a discount from 4-7pm so if you’re not picky on seating that’s when I recommend paying a visit. Attached is the photos of what I ordered.“
“very friendly staff, short wait time, small cozy place, food was very flavorful,n fresh, had the Osamke was delicious and nice size pieces,,also shumia dumplings,we also got the teriyaki salmon bento box was good ,will be coming back to try there Ramen and other dishes they “
“Nestled in NYC's Upper East Side, Me Jin Ramen delivered authentic Japanese flavors. The cozy ambiance and welcoming staff set the stage for a memorable dining experience. I had the Meijin Miso Ramen and ate the whole thing. The broth, simmered to perfection, harmonizes with the chewy, house-made noodles and exquisite toppings like tender beef, bean sprouts, green onions and sweet corn. As a local, I treasure Meijin Ramen for its consistently exceptional quality and comforting atmosphere. For a taste of Japan in the heart of NYC, Meijin Ramen is an absolute must-visit.“
“This place has a relaxing setting and good service. The food is exceptionally amazing. This has become one of my favorite places in the area to go eat now. If you're looking for a low key place for a night out with your partner or a place to take a date this is a good place to go.“
“The quality of broth is great, and always consistent but lately the Chachu pork slices have been getting smaller and smaller . This time I realize it wasn’t only smaller in size but thinner and fattier .. the fat was almost 50% of both pieces . This is unacceptable and disappointing.“
“This is my favourite restaurant in New York. The service is amazing. I could have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner for my whole life. The owner gave me a free drink.I recommend this place because The food is amazing. Everyone is so nice. It makes my life so good. We had the pork Ramen, amazing , we also had the spicy chicken that was so flavourful and and the salmon poke bowl that so fresh,it tasted like heaven.Review by Rawly (12)“
“RATING: 7.1/10 My friend who goes here regularly told me that if I was in Greenpoint I should check it out - while it's not necessarily a destination spot, it is surprisingly good for being "just a neighborhood spot." Since I was spending all day eatin gin Greenpoint anyway, I decided to give it a shot CLASSIC SHOYU Ok, so I will say that that yes the broth is better than you might expect from a regular ramen place but not quite meeting standards of "you GOT to come to greenpoint to try this place." However, if you live here or in a neighboring area, DO order out when want ramen. The noodles though are really great quality and have a perfect chew, with wavy shape which is my preference. The meat is nice and salty. If I'm back in the neighborhood, I would definitely come back!“
“The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review.Atmosphere: I haven't really been to many Japanese restaurants, but it felt like a calm and relaxing place. Very clean and organized. I do want to say that the exterior of the restaurant needs to have its name highlighted a bit more. Thus, it can be more noticeable for customers.Service: The lady was really attentive when I walked in. Food came out in a timely manner. The only thing that took a bit long was paying for it. So, I had to take the bill to the lady and pay it. She was also having her meal, so it's understandable.Food: I ordered the Miso Ramen and the Crispy Takoyaki. The ramen broth was flavorful, and the rest of the ingredients were as well. The Crispy Takoyaki was hot and well done. The octopus from the Takoyaki was not too chewy or hard to chew. Overall, I was pleased with my order.Price: Honestly, their prices are decent. You get adequate portions and good enough flavors.“
“I love the ambiance in this place, the wood accents and clean lines is really soothing. We came on a Friday night and didn’t make a reservation. It wasn’t busy but there was only one server so it was slower but the server was friendly and attentive. The ramen is AMAZING! Highly HIGHLY recommend stopping in for the ramen, it will not disappoint. The fried chicken and octopus appetizers were good but in our minds we thought they’d be different.“
“My favorite thing about this spot is that they filter and purify their water themselves which is an amazing feat to flex!I came in on a Friday afternoon (6:30pm) with a friend. A little stuffy but it's also the vibe of the spot and very Brooklyn lol. We didn't have to wait for a seat so that was golddden. It has the perfect amount of seats because although it gets filled with not too many people you can still carry a conversation comfortably. The food. I got the tonbara miso ramen, it was pretty good. The noodles were on point and I really like the ear mushrooms they used and the corn. The only cons was the one slide of chachu and the half of a soft boiled egg was hard boiled.4/5!“
“Upon arriving on March 14, 2024 at 6:45pm, I was 0kindly greeted by two very polite and courteous servers. The food was exceptional and so was the service. I will be going back and bringing others with me. I so appreciated the hospitality. KUDO! ❤️ ?Vegetarian options: Great meal with sesame string beans.“
“For Japanese ramen in Brooklyn this is the spot. Going along, going with friends, this place is a fast casual meal under 1 hr. Recommend getting the standard ramen, if you feeling hungry get the set with extra toppings to ensure you leave feeling full.Pro tip if you want to drink the soup, make the broth lower richness and less spicy.Noodles were cooked to my expectations and the pork was thinly sliced and brought a lot of flavors. No tipping establishment is great, bathroom clean, staff friendly, you prepay before you get seated.“
“My friends and I have become regulars at this place, because the food is so good! The flavors are so clean. Though the sushi's were not the best, they are ok. The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side, so it can get a bit crowded inside. However, it's bern worth it every time. The gyu don and the spicy miso ramen are personal favorites. As well as their matcha latte. .“
“FOOD:The ramen I received was very tasty, the poached egg inside was amazing. The chicken was nice and the vegetables were good. There was corn, which I'm not a huge fan of, but overall good ramen. I also had dumplings, which were (of course) a huge upgrade from the packaged ones. To top it off, the lemonade was quite sour but tasted okay if you sipped a little at a time.INSIDE:It was very clean, no dirt at all and the tables and chairs were cleaned up. There were also cool things on the wall and a clean bathroom (that had funny jokes inside)OVERALL:Although it had some high prices, I really enjoyed this place, either if you never had Japanese food or if you did, this will be a nice idea for yourself and maybe even others. Totally recommended.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service provided by our server, Rochelle, was outstanding. Rochelle warm demeanor and attentiveness made our meal truly enjoyable. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured that all our needs were met throughout the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant!“
“I LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. This has got to be one of the most unique ramens I’ve ever had, the meat was so flavorful and the broth isn’t as heavy as the traditional one (personally that’s what makes it perfect) it leaves you full with a happy heart and a happy tummy lol. This place holds a dear spot in my heart and I hope it never changes ❤️. Big thumbs up to the waiters and the cooks.“
“The Shoyu Ramen with added Nori seaweed hit the spot and was perfect. The mixture of the soy sauce and chicken broth was delicious. The chicken version was charbroiled and added to the layers of flavor. It also comes with pork, if desired. The kikurage mushrooms are also very good. I would highly recommend this dish and literally ate every last drop!“
“Great prices and delectable bites. Soup dumplings, steamed dumplings, peking duck buns, wontons, and beef noodles were the perfect dishes to share among the 4 of us girls. My personal favourites were the steamed pork and shrimp dumplings and peking duck buns.“
“Extremely delicious food , i tried thepork bao buns- 9/10gyoza w the spicy mayo- 10/10takoyaki- 10/10we also got ramen bowls , so authentically good , the flavor was to die for on a cold day like today! they actually take their time to bring the food out ( not alot of wait time dw ) the service felt family owned , they were super sweet & attended to us w ease. overall no complaints , cozy , affordable & great atmosphere , thank you!!“
“We have been going here for years. Now it is part of our week we have dinner there. The staff which has been so loyal and consistent are lovely, the owner is lovely, so happy this place and these people are right in walking distance to my house. Now the food, it is so tasty and fresh, just yum. <3“
“Woooowwwww when they said the best ramen in BK, they really didn't disappoint. This is the best ramen I ever had ??? The portion is sooo much. They really give you so much cha-su and the egg noodles are so delicious. The noodles tasted like they have seasoning on it. It was such a rich and creamy ramen. I will be coming back for more ??“
“Excellent service. Attention to detail in all of the dishes is next level. Ordered the Hawaiian poke bowl, which I really enjoyed. Great to eat at an establishment where every staff member really seems to care about your dining experience.Vegetarian options: Excellent veggie ramen with a delicious vegetable brothKid-friendliness: Fun coin-op toy dispenser“
“The octopus fried balls were very good as a starter. The Japanese pancake (forgot what was in it) was something I'd order everytime. The Japanese cocktails were sweet but not overpowering, I actually really enjoyed them which I didn't think I would. Also, the Ramen was solid, not the best I ever had but not something I'd take a star off for.Overall, I would definitely go again and would recommend trying it out.“
“Get the salmon tartare as your app. I could eat 5 orders of these, easily. You’re welcome. All the ramen are mid. Albeit some are very creative. The broth isn’t as rich as I’d prefer and alway just falls short of… damn that’s good. That said, they never disappoint, they just never wow. The noodles are also mid.Service is always friendly and efficient.Portion to $: 4/5Date spot: lunch maybe, dinner no.All this said, it’s the best ramen north of 79th Street. So far.“
“This place was delicious I loved all the appetizers. In particular I really like the karaage it was super crispy and it came with a great dipping sauce. I also really enjoyed the ramen. I would love to go here again because of my love for ramen. The ambiance of the place is pretty pleasant and clean looking. The servers were pretty friendly and attentive. Definitely need to come back with some of my friends and family. You gotta check this place out!“
“Super tasty batten ramen, I like it and the appetizers are delicious, it’s funny that they have Manga for foreigners since we don’t know the language! (There should be something for all languages.?) But the food is very delicious, I faithfully recommend it..“
“Decent casual sit down sushi. Service was quick and friendly. They have a grab and go section. I ordered the sushi box of 4 plus a choice of salad (I chose edamame). I really liked the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna, good flavors. Of note (as of 12/19/23), there must be construction going on next door because it was REALLY loud. You could feel the ground vibrate while you eat. While this establishment probably has nothing to do with that, it did ruin the vibe.“
“This ramen place? It's not just a restaurant, it's a relationship. We've been seeing each other for 6 months now, and the spark hasn't faded! We dream about the broth, fantasize about the noodles... honestly, we should probably get their wallpaper on our phones at this point. The classic ramen is SO good, we haven't even dared to explore the rest of the menu. Maybe next time... or the next...“
“I love this place! i’ve gone here by myself before and with a couple friends as well. the workers are very friendly and the decorations are soooo pretty. They have this bell that you can ring so that the waiters are called to you so you can order and pay and it’s so convenient! love kyuramen Kid-friendliness: Good place to bring family and is a very friendly environment. They have a rocking chair at the front that i often see children go on and enjoy a lot.“
“Really amazing happy hour! I got the edamame which was so savory and delicious and the karaage chicken. The chicken was pretty spicy so I wouldn’t recommend if you are sensitive to spicy food. The restaurant is rather small but we didn’t have problems getting a table on a Wednesday night. The servers were very attentive and made sure our drinks stayed full.“
“Food: we got tonkatsu ramen and some rolls— both great! The ramen broth was kind of creamy (in a bone brothy way) but very light. My favorite roll was the spicy salmon— it was so flavorful!!Service: this may be because we had an early dinner, but the staff was exceptionally attentive, friendly, and sweet— I think that’s what really took our experience to the next level!!Atmosphere: we sat outside with our dog (we called first and they were welcoming of her!!) and loved the individual booth style. I feel like it’s very rare that you have privacy when dining outdoors these days, and it was just the cherry on top. There’s about as much outdoor seating as there is indoors + I saw a private room/event space in the back of the restaurant! It’s such a convenient location near the waterfront. We will definitely be back :))“
“Delicious, really hit the spot!!!Pretty affordable for what you get. Generous portions. The pork is amazingly thick and succulent. The service was excellent, shoutout to the young lady at the bar whose bubbly personality made my night. Thanks and will be back ?“
“Hot ramen was very much needed on a chilly day. Love that they partnered up with TBaar for excellent bubble teas. Only complaint would be that they got both of our bubble tea orders wrong. I honestly had no idea what we both ended up getting, it was tasty nonetheless. The ramen was good and springy, adored the agedashi tofu as well. Definitely a go to spot again for a cold day.“
“Overall rating: 4.5I didn’t realize this was a chain when I visited. Clean area and nice service. Not a place to sit down, but rather to go. I had the Szechuan braised beef and it is SPICY. I wasn’t prepared how spicy. On the first day, the broth just tasted like hot water. It was missing the flavor or fullness of broth. But on the second day, I added some soy and a few other Asian spices & it got so much better. Surprisingly day 2 was better than day 1. I could come back to try another, less spicy dish, if I’m in the area.Definitely more a lunch to-go spot, than anything else. Recommend giving it a try.“
“The service is nice, the store was empty when we came in we were the only customers. The store is really dark and the ambience is a bit calm because the music wasn't blasting in our ears. We ordered the Japanese shumai and it was okay to say the best. We also got braised beef noodle soup and it was good. I liked how there were different types of noodles you could pick, we picked egg noodles. The beef was soft and literally just melted in your mouth. However, we did hear the microwave go off a couple of times before getting our food which was kind of weird.“
“OMGSH!!!....what a FANTASTIC restaurant!I'm a Flight Attendant, and the crew and I were on a long-overnight in New York City. One of our pilots discovered this gem of a restaurant near our hotel, The Hyatt Place. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, about this restaurant is/was remarkable! The decor, the seating, and the wait staff (shout out to our PHENOMENAL Waiter!) were beyond EXCEPTIONAL! The food I must mention again OMGSH!!!....the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I felt as if I was in Japan!I ordered the Soft Shell Crab, the Pork Belly and the Shrimp Tempura.....ALL were delectable!!!!I can't wait to visit this AMAZING eatery once again!Bravo Kyuramen!“
“This ramen place is a true gem, and their deluxe option with pork broth is an absolute delight. From the moment you take your first sip of the rich, flavorful broth, you know you're in for a treat. The pork is tender and succulent, and the noodles have the perfect texture. It's a symphony of flavors that leaves you craving more with every slurp. Belissimo doesn't even begin to describe it! If you're a ramen lover, this place is a must-visit.“
“This hidden gem in Midtown is a must-visit for ramen lovers! The staff is incredibly friendly and served perfect beer to pair with my meal. The ramen itself was delicious, and the other small dishes I tried were equally impressive. The interior is cozy and authentically Japanese, creating a great atmosphere for a relaxing meal.“
“Great sushi spot. It’s affordable and there’s so many food options not just sushi and sashimi but also LOTS OF entrees and appetizers. I had the red snapper sashimi, kani roll, vegetable udon, tonkatsu ramen, hamachi kama. Everything was good the sashimi was fresh and really good. Definitely worth it and will be coming back to try more things“
