“Hinomaru Ramen in Astoria is such a great spot, and makes the adventure to Astoria so worth it!! 🍜 We ordered so many things, including the Hinomaru Ramen, Uni Ramen, soft shell crab roll, salmon don, crispy rice sushi, and Korean fried chicken, along with two cocktails. Everything made for such a fun meal with friends!

The biggest highlight for me was definitely the Uni Ramen!! The fact that it’s the only uni ramen in NYC makes it such a unique find and something you HAVE to try if you’re a ramen lover or a fan of uni. I love finding restaurants that offer something a little different from the usual, and this definitely caught my attention. We also enjoyed trying all the different appetizers and sushi, especially being able to order a variety of dishes to share.“

Ive lived in Astoria for 11 years and ive had many many visits to HERO THAI & IZAKAYA & i can say with supreme confidence ive NEVER had a bad meal or experience here.. This might seem excessive but ive the background to make such a grand statement.. im a veteran restaurant nyc restaurant professional with 7-nytimes reviewed 3 star chefs ..& this is my place ALWAYS my first choice.. NOT because the food is soooooo delicious— the flavors and textures just bounce off the plate..NOT because they have genuine food lovingly presented and executed,NOT because they have excellent 🧊 icy frosty cold draft beer— SINGHA!!! NOT because the menu runs the gamut of AUTHENTIC THAI AND JAPANESE cuisine, NOT because the fish 🐠 tanks always provide excellent entertainment OR the gentle price point of everything on offer …A terrific HH with SINGHA draft beers 🍻, cocktail specials and lunch and dinner chefs additions..BUT for HERO’s warm gracious service and understanding what HOSPITALITY means— as a solo diner am i im always greeted with not only a smile but a genuine interest in my visit..and that’s a rare experience..MY personal favorites are takoyaki,chive pancake,duckroll,sweet chili jumbo wings— crispy duck salad,Larb beef,Mango and avocado salad,Spicy Shrimp Salad— And entree Pad-Ka-NaMoo Grob( stir fried Chinese broccoli( lan mai) with the crispiest pork belly lardons you will ever have— I ask for it spicy 🌶 but be careful thai chilis ARE HOTTTTT!! And my favorite soup DUCK UDON NOODLE SOUP—,i always have this on a cold rainy day and nothing is better..: Ive decided not to be selfish and share the glory of this sparkling gem— it hits a lot of sweet notes for me — with so many incredible options you have so many lovely choices— I have not had every dish but i do plan on trying— what an adventure!!! Give this place a go — you won’t regret it — it never disappoints.. they are always happy to see you — really.“

“I came in here for a quick lunch, and overall it’s a good spot for quick sushi. The girl at the register was also very sweet and polite.

I can say I probably won’t be ordering the bento box again. For $15, there are definitely better bento box options around. I just happened to have a craving and that’s what I wanted at the time.

The California roll was great and tasted fresh, but I wasn’t a fan of the teriyaki flavor, and it did hurt my stomach a bit. The gyozas were nicely crisp, but I didn’t really care for the filling. The miso soup was delicious, and I didn’t touch the veggie mix.

Overall, I’d come back for the sushi, but I’d probably order something different next time.“

“Tokyo Ya is a hiden gem best shushi all you can eat place. everything was cooked to perfection. Price is the cheapest AYCE. Quality of fish super fresh just melts on your mouth. went twice with no disappointment. server was awesome and food came right away. the electronic ordering is cool awesome. first time ever giving a review to a place I really like and did not disappointed me at all. 10/10 ( from an enthusiastic AYCE Gal)“

“This is such a cute place and the food was delicious! I came here for dinner with a friend and I got the Crispy and Spicy Sesame Chicken Donburi which was divine. The decor inside is super cute and cozy plus the service is excellent — they were so welcoming and efficient. Didn’t try the ramen this time but my friend did and it looked amazing. I will absolutely be coming back so maybe next time! Anyways, definitely recommend if you’re in the area“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Came here recovering from jaw surgery and I got just the mame miso broth, while my girlfriend got the lunch special.

roughly $15 for ramen, a soda and an appetizer; she picked the chicken karaage, which I then had tiny bites of. The way it melted in my mouth made me want to cry at the table.

Then I tried my ramen broth, and it is so rich and earthy, with a hint of bitterness. It's like a good coffee or mexican mole.

I'm definitely coming here again when I can actually chew, because I got a taste of heaven here.“

“Had a great experience at Ichiran Ramen in New York! 🍜 The ramen was incredibly tasty, flavorful, and satisfying. I chose spice level 7 this time, and it was perfect for me—but definitely planning to try level 10 on my next visit! 🌶

I also really enjoyed the unique experience. They prepare the ramen fresh after you take your seat, and then serve it through the little shutter right in front of you. It makes the whole experience feel different and special.

“Tabetomo is by far the best ramen restaurant I’ve ever been to in New York! The restaurant is small, cozy, and very clean, and the servers were all friendly and welcoming. “Quick & Friendly service, delicious food and a great matcha latte! I got the tonkotsu, the chashu in it was very flavorful and tender. The broth was delicious, and the garlic paste, chilli powder, and chilli sesame oil at the table allowed me to adjust the spice & flavor to my preference. Food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering. Waiter was super friendly and helpful!“

While I am disappointed by their introduction of non-plant-based ingredients into the menu, their menu remains predominantly plant based. Finally checked it out. The ramen was great (dragon tan tan), and the brussel sprouts were my favourite. Also enjoyed the sushi.

Only flag: was caught off guard by the server promoting egg at a place with “plant based” plastered all over the exterior. That was a bit off-putting, and while there were a couple vegetarian folk in the party, they were not interested. It was just weird to hear it be promoted, which goes beyond it being just an option added to the menu. Same for the meats—despite us mentioning we were all veg/vegan, she started to run through them and we interrupted her 2x to tell her we were not interested at all.“

“No complaints about this place, it’s simply excellent. I’ve tried a lot of ramen places in this city over the years, and been to some of the highest rate of ones, and Kin Ramen has to be top 2. Some places have a single standout component, like the broth or noodles or pork, but not every component is amazing, but this place does everything just so well and I couldn’t find any flaws. The noodles are cooked well and chewy. The broth is flavorful and has depth to it. The meat is tender! Just a really solid bowl every which way.

We ordered the Kin Kara ramen and Shio Truffle ramen. Tbh I was a little dubious about the truffle because most places offer truffle and hit you over the head with it, but Kin keeps it restrained and more subtle. Just wow.

Service was so friendly and went above and beyond. Someone opened the door for us when we were 2 feet away! It was like walking into a nice hotel lol. And then the waiters inside were very prompt and efficient as well.

“Went to this establishment this week. The customer service ( Sawyer - our Table Staff professional ) was out of this world. The food was tasty, professionally presented and Portion size was large with a price point that is never seen these days. Pricing is beyond reasonable. Classy, elegant, yet very comfortable!“

“Today I visited Kohoku Ku Ramen and ordered takoyaki and EBI ramen.
The food was really delicious. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a rich and flavorful sauce. The EBI ramen had a strong shrimp aroma, and the broth was rich and tasty.
I wasn’t feeling well today and had a stuffy nose, but the hot soup with a slightly spicy kick really helped clear my head. It felt so comforting and refreshing.

“We came in a party of five - two adults and three kids. We ordered one tsukemen, two ramen (deluxe and miso), one kid’s meal, and one fried chicken (karaage with Korean spicy sauce). All were delicious and filling. Anime is playing from a projector on the wall, which kept my boys occupied and quiet 😉. Staff were polite to us and the kids. “I got the basic Ramen and it was great! Next time I will add the extras. It was our first time so we didn’t know what to expect. Great texture and the broth was rich. Absolutely amazing!
