Samurai Papa Reviews
Always a staple in our visits to NYC. Never disappointed. Can be packed sometimes, but so worth it. Really good music and atmosphere.
Low-key spot for solid ramen and other Japanese fare. I ordered the Dan Dan ramen and karage. There’s a lean staff but they are efficient. They have a backyard, but I didn’t get to check it out. My one issue with the place is that there are a set of shutters separating the front of house from the back of house and they are COVERED in dust! It looks like they’ve never been cleaned. That really shook me. The restaurant has an “A” rating from the dept...read full review
Tonight was my first time trying this place. I'm a huge fan of their sister restaurant, Samurai Mama, and I've been wanting to try this for some time. I got the veggie options tonight: the vegan Dan Dan noodles and the vegetable gyozas. 10 out of 10! Cannot wait to go back. Thanks, team!

Samurai Papa in Bed-Stuy is known for its delicious vegan ramen and cozy outdoor dining. The quick service and friendly staff contribute to a great experience. The restaurant offers a varied menu with many vegetarian options, including both cold and hot choices. The ramen and soba are filling and generously portioned, with the broth showing real care and love. The tanban ramen features a heavier broth that is flavorful, balancing noodles, soup, and toppings well. The pork is well prepared, and the meals are reasonably priced. Customers enjoy the unique setting with bar/counter seating in front and a small enclosed back area that can host about 20 people indoors. The extensive drink menu includes popular options like the lychee cocktail and canned Hi Chus. The flan is a nice, not overly sweet dessert that has a strong cha flavor. The staff is friendly and relaxed, allowing visitors to enjoy a satisfying meal without feeling rushed. Many customers praise the authentic ramen experience, with favorites like the chicken shoyu ramen and sake sunrise. The Dan Dan ramen and salmon bento box have also received high praise, making it a place many look forward to returning to.
