“I used to live in the area ; was up visiting family and I stumbled on this place by way of an IG reel so I figured I would give it a try because (a)-it was the Friday that NJ experienced a 4.8 earthquake and I most certainly didn't think I was in the right headspace to do any cooking and (b)-this place was literally 1 mile away from my mother's house so I figured I'd pay the extra overhead and have it delivered because it was so close.Let's get the con out of the way; despite me putting my address in and stating where I lived the food was never delivered. I received prompt notifications on my phone about it being almost ready & that it was on its way..but I literally was standing in front of the single family residence and received a text that my food was delivered but it wasn't. Not the best first impression..When I called the establishment Chelf Salty communicated his dismay and stated he would remake my order for in person pick-up; I appreciated his effort to make this right so I agreed.I'm glad I did.I ordered the spicy miso ramen, the tori katsu ramen, and the stamina ramen (was sharing with mom).The spicy miso ramen has a nice kick, the ramen noodles have a good chew and the pork confit was silky. Katsu ramen and stamina ramen though brothless had great balance of flavor between the amazingly dressed noodles (again nice kick in heat/flavor that wasn't blindingly spicy), perfect jammy eggs and the the chicken katsu was DIVINE..perfectly crisp..juicy..and again..great balance of flavor in the chicken.If you don't feel like getting in your car to drive to a ramen place and just want to tuck into some yummy ramen at home do give this place a try..I'm glad I did. Is it the best ramen I have ever had in my life? No..but I think it holds its own with the other ramen places in Essex county and again..I think it's a great option for the peeps that live in Nutley/Belleville area that just want to tuck into some good comfort food that isn't pizza or mexican-give it a shot!“

“Let me start with the constructive feedback- and if you are still reading based on the scoring- you clearly want to try this place. -Wish there was a more accessible entry- not stroller friendly. -Wish some of their dishes came with sauce to dip in since a lot of it is finger friendly. -Wish their menu didnt label all the seafood items as vegetarian. Now the good, because a little bit of lifting and asking can help with the above! Service was amazing. Our server was super informative and guided us on our culinary excursion. Szechuan Ravioli- spicy vinaigrette so may be a little on the sour side for some, nice crisp on the outside Fried Rice- serviceable, not much to it Impossible Duck Bun - vegetarian, nice flavor profile and a good bite Vegetable Bowl - lots of veggies and a choice of noodles or rice. Get the noodles. Shanghai Wontons- we ordered this last but we should have done this first... and in multiples. My fav dish because I am a sucker for spicy peanut sauce. Spicy Vegetable Bun- also a great bun, cant go wrong with any of them really. Nice sauté on the vegetables and great flavor. If you made it this far....go! Get those shanghai wontons to start and see where your journey takes you!“

“An amazing take-out restaurant on Park Ave in Rutherford. The best dumplings in NJ! Also makes amazing Fried Wontons in the most delicious garlic sauce. Family run business - the husband and wife are the sweetest and accommodating on menu changes. Unfortunately there is no dine in service but that won't stop me from ordering once a month!!“

“You definitely want to make a reservation if you want to not wait to be seated. This place fills fast. We went when the weather still had a bite in the air. We opted to sit outside in the covered heated patio. Which turned out to be a great place to sit. Highly recommend this. Our waiter recommended all our foods, which change with the seasons. The appetizer of the curry cauliflower was excellent. The triple garlic pork was so good, I could’ve had another bowl. My daughter really enjoyed the fried chicken. The chicken paitan comes with a raw egg that you break the yolk into the hot broth that creates the sauce. The ramen noodles are excellent. They fresh with a nice chew to them. It was my daughter boyfriend’s birthday and they brought to the table a slice of the yuzu cheesecake which was unlike any cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. (with a candle) the overall cost for five people with a glass of wine and a bottle of beer was about $119 w/o tip. Also you scan the code on the table to get the menu. Parking is not easy. ( NYC) if you can take the train, bus or Uber.“

“I heard that Tonchin is difficult to get walk-ins for, so I was really excited to get a reservation here. There was a long line of walk-ins when we arrived for our 12pm reservation. The restaurant has a cool modern vibe and good service. Overall there were some things I liked, but nothing was particularly memorable.The kimchi mushroom ($8) was meh and not worth the cost. It was very small, cold, and sour -- just hard strips of oyster mushroom in a chili oil/vinegar flavor. I didn't taste the kimchi flavor.The original maguro ($27) was very good. Lots of great flavors and textures, and everything was cut to the same size. I enjoyed the crunchy bits.The tebasaki ($18 for 6 pieces) had quite big and tender wings. The drumettes had more flavor and sauciness. This wasn't a must-get, but it was decent.The smoked dashi ramen ($22) definitely lived up to its name. It was a rich but not overly heavy pork broth with smoked dashi liquid on top. It was good but not amazing. I didn't love that the bamboo was in a big chunk, which made it hard to eat. The noodles are nothing special. I felt similarly about the tonkotsu ramen.I got the aka drink ($18) which was pretty good -- very floral and good sweetness. It wasn't that big, though -- it had a giant ice block in it.Overall the restaurant has a nice vibe and the food is quick to come out, but nothing would make me come back. The maguro was definitely the highlight.“

“The Smoked Pork Ramen was one of the best ramen I have ever had. The soup was strong in umami and smokiness and that alone made it a stand out dish. The spicy ramen was a manageable level of spicy but covered the taste of everything else.It’s so good I forgive David Chang for sending lawyer letters to the AAIP chilli crisp makers.“

“3.8/5 stars My first time visited Kame on Saturday it was a bit busy so we had to wait in the line but only for 10-15 mins. I had Spicy Tonkotsu ramen(19$) the braised pork belly was super soft but the broth is just ok in my opinion the black garlic oil is too strong that I couldn't even drink the soup but I did like the noodles tho. I added onsen egg for (2$) and it was just ok to me because I think marinated boiled eggs would be better with the ramen. Noodles 3.7/5 Pork belly 4.5/5 Creamy broth 2.8/5 Onsen egg 3/5 Drink Plum lemonade 4.5/5 The food was good but this is just my personal taste buds. If you set the spiciness level to level 8, it's about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, but eating bone broth with spicy seasoning and rice felt like eating sundae soup haha.It's expensive, but it's worth a visit at least once during your trip.“

“Tiny cozy place for ramen. Had full ramen bar and maybe 4-5 tables. They serve asahi on tap and offer chu-hi. Ramen broth was mostly chicken based but had a high content of garlicky and salt flavor. You can choose thin or wavy noodles. I would say save yourself from gyoza. I found them crispy but lacking flavor and juiciness when you take that first bite. Over all satisfying and around 20 bucks a bowl.“

“We came by for lunch at about 2pm on a Thursday. The chicken ramen has quite a strong flavour which is great, the portion is decent and the egg is very umami and so good. The only downside is there’s no spicy options available so you have to add on the spicy condiments on the side. The sauerkraut pepper doesn’t look much but it’s a spice (and flavour) bomb, yum!Service is great, the honeycomb seats are cosy and has lots of privacy for conversations. “Finally, I have found a ramen shop in NYC that matches Tonchin. I'm surprised this place wasn't that busy on a Saturday night (and surprised it only had 800 reviews on Google). The XO Miso Ramen had a super savory broth and (somehow) savory vegetables. They cooked and infused some flavoring into the vegetables before adding it to the bowl (they could have served the veggies as a dish themselves). They tasted way better than the usual, almost raw veggies that get added to ramen. In addition, the way they reduced the XO sauce into the soy meat blew me away: incredible flavoring by itself, even better with the broth and veggies.The truffle miso ramen was good but not as tasty as the XO Miso ramen. This one had a very mushroom-heavy broth, and the vegetables took the liberty to coat themselves with the truffle oil that was added, so the broth itself didn't get that taste (rather then veggies did).I like my noodles firm but they were cooked too firm here (not raw, just barely cooked), so you may want to request softer noodles. In addition, the chili oil is actually seriously spicy, be careful!“
