“After sightseeing all around Astoria, I found this Japanese restaurant using Google Maps.
I was after the lunch hour so only a couple of people were there.
I decided to try the lunch special. I got tonkatsu, my favorite.
It came with a nice bowl of hot soup. As you can see from the picture, it was a full portion of food. The tonkatsu was nicely cooked and all delicious.
The hostess was exceptionally nice and friendly.

“Tokyo Ya is a hiden gem best shushi all you can eat place. everything was cooked to perfection. Price is the cheapest AYCE. Quality of fish super fresh just melts on your mouth. went twice with no disappointment. server was awesome and food came right away. the electronic ordering is cool awesome. first time ever giving a review to a place I really like and did not disappointed me at all. 10/10 ( from an enthusiastic AYCE Gal)“

“Bai Sushi may seem like a small run-of-the-mill takeout restaurant from the outside, but they are so much more. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff make for a wonderful dining experience. The food is amazing (raw or cooked). There’s something for everyone who likes Sushi or Japanese cuisine. They also accommodate if you have dietary needs. Sit in or take out, DEFINITELY stop by!!!“

“So I came here for my birthday dinner and at first I did not want to eat there since I thought it will be a party vibe, but the lounge area wasn’t open. Which I get it since it was a Wednesday. But the Chef did not want us to leave disappointed, he did it all (Champagne, birthday sign, food, shots) all at a discounted price. & let me tell u the food did not disappoint. It was delicious! I was overwhelmed with his generosity. He really made my night special. And something I will always remember. Keep Being the kind person u are Wilmer. Good things will definitely come to u. “Honestly ordered a lot of food and it only came out to 58$
Yellowtail jalapeno the tuna tataki (which is really covered in black pepper) spicy tuna roll the tiger roll with shrimp tempura spicy tuna and avocado
And white tuna that I truly never knew existed
All in all solid spot reasonably priced“

“I came in here for a quick lunch, and overall it’s a good spot for quick sushi. The girl at the register was also very sweet and polite.

I can say I probably won’t be ordering the bento box again. For $15, there are definitely better bento box options around. I just happened to have a craving and that’s what I wanted at the time.

The California roll was great and tasted fresh, but I wasn’t a fan of the teriyaki flavor, and it did hurt my stomach a bit. The gyozas were nicely crisp, but I didn’t really care for the filling. The miso soup was delicious, and I didn’t touch the veggie mix.

Overall, I’d come back for the sushi, but I’d probably order something different next time.“

“It’s almost embarrassing how much I order from Kumo. Their teriyaki lunch platter is unbeatable pricewise and is so tasty. They know how to do tofu and salmon right and the rolls are always fresh. It’s a takeout spot so don’t plan to eat in. Food is ready quick and always hits the spot.“

“I don’t normally write reviews but the sushi was so yummy I had to. Everything was so good, especially the salmon since it was so fresh. Literal chef’s kisses 🤤 You can also sit anywhere you’d like and the vibes are so chill. Definitely recommend!!“
