“Your own little slice of Commodore in Greenpoint! Food is just as good and drinks are also. Cozy little bar with a ski lodge theme and a huge lit up screen of Glacier National Park behind the bar giving off those The Shining Vibes. Backyard and side walk seating as well. The Cadillac Nachos and Queso are classics, the Spinach and Mushroom Quesadilla is a newer addition but one of my favs. The Commodore is the classic Pina Colada. You can do a shot and beer combo with just about anything. Prices can't be beat.“
“Definitely a (new for me) favorite bar. I love the atmosphere and that this suits a variety of a drinkers. Every time I come there is an eclectic crowd and I love the welcoming environment. Drinks are good and affordable. If you want to lose yourself to the night, go for the coffee thing. You'll have a time, lol Service is fast and efficient. A must stop in this neighborhood. Oh and they have an outdoor section when the weather is nice!“
“Came by on a Friday night and the atmosphere was mellow, decent music and decent prices. would make a good date spot, small intimate interior and close to other spots if you're open to crawl! We had a good time. Love the toy sitting open on the bar for patrons to kill time and start a fun conversation around.“
“This place is great for what it is. A lot of the hipster bars nowadays are trying to be something they're not and this place isn't really like that. I also like how they have a dice game with a jackpot you pay a dollar to roll that's dope. I have no idea if they have food so can't comment on that“
“Nice place for heavy metal death/GothicBartenders are super friendly, drinks are cheap, beer ice cold, music loud, but you can go to the back where you can sit and have a conversation with your friends or people you meet there, they have an old school jukebox where you can play your music, CD are changed once a month so each month you find new albums there, some creepy decoration items here and there, decoration is just amazing all the items displayed are signed by artists from drum heads, guitars, concert tickets and so on, no food tho but they allow you to get food from outside, best option is the dollar slice pizza up the corner. I've seen and met all kinds of people there, so i assume it's also LGBTQ friendly for the folks who are wondering, since I've seen some people who identify as. Having a drink and laugh, this is the place to go to have fun meet new people“
“I used to make fun of Tip Top when I'd walk by. Unassuming is an understatement. One night when we were already a bit buzzed we went here as a joke. I can't explain it, but... this bar is kind of magical? Incredible patio. Immaculate vibes. Now it's one of our favorite spots.“
“Pete’s was on my “must-go” list for a long time and my visit turned out to be even better than I had expected. The idea of a bar with random live performances is fantastic. The service was friendly, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the grilled cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious. Overall, it's a wonderful place to spend an evening with friends.“
“Dive Bar is a nice spot!! Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the atmosphere + vibes are quintessential for a dive (& that's what makes it so great). They make a good margarita and their fries are a perfect shareable bite!!“
“I love stopping by while I'm in Queens. Now that I have discovered they have an Elf mural and a resident (of sorts) French bulldog with his own barstool, this is a must stop while visiting this neighborhood. Super laidback and the drinks are cold and flowing. The staff wants to ensure a good experience! Live music when I was there on a Friday early evening. Cheers!“
“Bob's is the most balanced bar in NY : his cheap beers come with a very serious service. Games are available for free, and the place is spacy enough for you to bring all your friends to get wasted or more. Trustable owner who kept my ID for several days before I realized I lost it while laying l the floor. Thanks Bob's!“
“Food in the back and grab a number. While you wait you can get cocktails or cheap beer and shots if you like or an underrated pint of Guinness at the bar. Staff never makes you feel unwanted which can happen at similar bars. Perfect neighborhood joint“
“This is a cocktail program for people who loves and appreciates a drink that takes into consideration the nuances of flavor. The Freezer Martini rivals and beats the Cold Pizza from DCP. The team loves their job, what they do and it’s clear in how much they appreciate their patrons. Come here, and enjoy the great atmosphere and conversation over some of the best cocktails I’ve had.“
“We had a blast! Went on a Tuesday for bingo night. Won 4 vintage vinyls and 4 shots, also bought 4 mixed drinks and 4 pizzas. Spent $40, plus tips and had a fantastic date night. We will be back on a tuesday, but next time we are bringing friends.“
“The most important bar of the neighborhood (and beyond really). Always open when all the other ones have closed way too early, great atmosphere, mixed audience. A great hang to chat with friends, talk to strangers at the bar or simply sit by yourself and decompress.“
“Stopped by while out and it was a cozy dive bar with various drink options. I tried the Nothing Rhymes with Blood Orange Margarita which was good ... a little on the sweet side but not too bad. Overall it was a nice experience due to the nice staff and ability to drink, relax and chat with friends over the low music.“
“I used to go to the original location many years ago when I lived in NYC, so I was eager to check out the new location on a recent trip. It's still a classic New York dive bar with great service and great prices. As long as the Subway Inn still stands, I'll make a point to visit every time I'm in the city.“
“We had the VFW in Astoria booked for a celebration of life for my mom and brother. We waited and waited and no one showed up to let us in. A crowd began to gather and still no word from the VFW. My wife and sister searched the area and stumbled up The Local. They explained our situation and the bartender was more than accommodating. We were able to use the outside area which was quite spacious and bring our own food!!! All they asked was that we bought some drinks(which were amazing!!!) I will definitely visit the Local whenever I'm in Astoria!!!“
“A great neighborhood bar with fun decor (plenty of plants), a great selection of drinks (including non-alcoholic options), board games, and a photo booth. My only complaint is that it seems word has gotten out about this place over the past year, and has become super crowded on weekends. Still, love Pearl's and keep coming back.“
“If I could give this place a million stars, I would because this establishment is more deserving of it than any others I’ve been to. Hole in the wall bar that makes you feel like you’re part of a community. Asad is by and far one of the best, if not the best bartenders I’ve ever met. He makes you feel like you’re family and you’re at home. And in regards to the bar food- some of the best I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend the mozz sticks and buffalo wings.Long story short, if you live in or are visiting LIC, this bar has been my go to for years. You won’t regret coming here.“
“Located in a cozy nook of Roosevelt Ave. The drinks are solid and the service is on point. Great place for conversation or a fun game of darts. I must say the decibel level of the music was just right. I didn't feel like I had to talk extra loud to people next to me. It had a chill vibe to it and I would definitely recommend it.“
“I had such a great time here !Fun selection of board games and beer pongGreat music and chill atmosphereAffordable drinks with standout options like the "Pum Pum Juice" ? Fun name & Taste really goodFriendly and Amazing staff ❤️ Ms. Hammer & Sears_oya, thank you for such a wonderful night !Luv Story Bar is a hidden gem that combines playful competition, delicious drinks, and a chill atmosphere. Whether you're seeking a nostalgic board game night with friends or a fun evening out, Luv Story promises a happy ending for all. Highly recommended“
“An awesome dive bar that you would typically see in the East Village. The place is laid back and unpretentious. They have a happy hour special with $5 beers, but honestly, it's not even needed. Their beers are regularly $5-$7 as it is. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back as well and the bartender offers free popcorn to everyone. Overall, this is a nice spot to hit up after dinner.“
“I went there for the first time and thought the bar wasn't packed, I had the most wonderful time. I drank and I played pool and had fun. Many thanks to Ms Alex for being welcoming to a stranger and for the drinks. See you again soon. Thanks for a great night!“
“Stopped in for a Dewars. It was cheap at $5. Was a light pour and looked a little watered down so it was worth $5. Fair and square. Tipped the pretty russian bartender $1. I guess she appreciated the tip because she started washing classes in front of me giving me a nice eyeful of her ample cleavage. Merry Christmas!! There was an Orthodox Jew and a loudmouth in there besides me -- so it was a mixed crowd. We all got along. The waitress teased the loudmouth about trying to get him excited. He took the bait and said that "with the way you look honey, it wouldn't take much" She thanked him, but said he should be careful or her bodyguard will take offense. He's starts yelling "you mean 'the Freak'? I'm 65 and I know 'the Freak' since we were both 5 years old!". Well you get the idea, it's a cozy relaxed place. I liked it there.“
“Listen if you’re looking for no thrills this is the Dig ol Bicks of bars. Each person in staff is an absolute legend a mommy if you will. I would sooner be waterboarded than choose any other neighborhood bar. If you’re looking for anything other than cheap drinks good people and an A+ atmosphere than pick a different spot. “
“We went to a fancy meal and my wife surprised me with this treasure after. If you like dive bars, if you like glam rock, and if you like places with no marketing department, then THIS is your place. David and Gayla were the regulars we hung out with. If they aren't there, just sit on the far right, and look up. Their names are on the ceiling. They were awesome. I bartended for 14 years and tried to make everyone's day better through my actions. You MEET Pete for 10 seconds, and he doesn't have to talk. Your day is already better. He knew about the Britney Fox breakup and played the band, he knew about how Whitesnake dissed John Sykes, and now will go listen to Blue Murder albums. He played Warrant. He played Kix. And he played Extreme pre-Van Halen and then had a conversation about all Van Halen singers. And there are specials, some with Bud, and one shot and beer for us IPA drinkers. Magical experience. And pretty sure Ed Norton was there. Pic below. Good luck finding the entrance, but it is worth it once you do. Definitely recommend, and see you there (next time I am out East).“
“Love this place! You can’t go wrong visiting At The Wallace, whether you’re looking for a quick drink and a snack or a bar to hang out and socialize in. Their Drag Race watch parties are always a great time, the service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. They’ve even got arcade games and giant Jenga in the back!“
“It was a chill vibe. I went on a Saturday night and there were maybe 5 other people there, drinking and watching the hockey game. I paid 11 dollars for two cosmopolitans, not bad for the area. Plus they were STRONG and the bartender was quick and attentive. I would come again. I wish there were games there. I only saw the darts, maybe I missed it. It's pretty dark and dated like someone else mentioned. In any event, I would come again. Good spot to start the night out bar hopping.“
“Unassuming bar from the outside with a cool interior (looks like an old carriage house). Cold Friday night, not many.people.inside, so was able to grab one of the booths in the corner. Basic selection of beers (around $8-9), as well as cocktails ($12-14). Opted for one of the draft beers and stayed off to the side. Not at all loud inside, and different seating options depending on how big your group is. No food to speak of, but seems like you can bring some inside. Bartenders aren't super talkative, though drinks come out quickly. Cash only is a bummer (ATM inside)“
“Great cocktails. Great selection of alcohols (found one of my favorite rums) and the food is all great. Can't stop thinking about the pizza with peperoncini in it. It was incredible. We went as a group of 4 on Christmas Eve and the bartender, David, was amazing and really helpful. I'll definitely be going back soon when in the neighborhood!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp in front if I remember correctly.“
“Your favorite local bar with one pool table in it. Don't get bougie with your beers. They have what they have. No food but if you are a patron, you're more than welcome to order your own food. They have a vending machine you gotta catch it when they do a fresh restock no one likes, stale nuts.“
