Shanghai You Garden Reviews

I went here with my brother. I loved it. Tea, dumplings, dessert (a sweet rice soup (soup?)). It was all good. I didn’t get any duck. I’ll have to come back for that. Very reasonably priced.

Shanghai You Garden is a popular Chinese restaurant in NYC, especially in Flushing, known for its affordable prices, delicious food, and friendly service. The restaurant is famous for its soup dumplings, which many reviews highlight as excellent, juicy, and with a thin skin. The duck buns are also highly praised for their taste and quick service, often available at the window for a convenient, quick bite. Customers enjoy the complimentary soup served with their meals, which is warm and comforting, adding to the dining experience. The menu features dishes like Peking Duck Bun, Pork Soup Dumplings, Chive and Shrimp Pancake, and shrimp rice roll, though some find certain items, like the rice roll, less satisfying due to thick wrappers. The ambiance includes a visible line of cooks making celebrated dumplings, and each table has a China teapot, enhancing the dining atmosphere. Service is generally efficient and unobtrusive, with attentive water refills and a clean restroom at the back. During summer, outdoor seating is available to enjoy duck baos outside. The restaurant operates on cash only and offers a consistently inexpensive experience, making it a favorite spot for many visitors exploring Queens. Overall, Shanghai You Garden remains a go-to place for flavorful Chinese dishes, especially for those craving its signature soup dumplings and duck buns.
