“Interesting that 108th Street offers myriad kosher and halal eateries; just walking here makes me feel holier than thou. I stop at Taco Kings, whose prices seem untouched by inflation since I left the neighborhood a few years ago. An underrated virtue of the place is that it works just as well for gathering with friends as for reading and studying alone.

Over two excellent veg tacos, I read a Times editorial in which centrist economist Jason Furman confessed he couldn’t read the economic tea leaves—too many conflicting signals. He’s one of those one-handed economists LBJ once lamented. Whatever the macro outlook, I can say without hesitation: I love this taco place.“

“Amazing shrimp burrito and chicken quesadillas. Ingredients are quality, you can taste the freshness of the tomatoes for sure. Staff was super welcoming and fun to talk to for a solo diner. Al Pastor tacos looked amazing (sadly I do not eat pork or I would have devoured them). Green salsa is spicy, but they give you a fair warning. Will come back next time I’m in the city“

“Just wow! Having been to Taqueria Ramirez, I already knew the tacos at Carnitas Ramirez weren’t going to let me down. And they certainly didn’t! Every taco I had was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the corn tortillas were top notch. There’s also a nice assortment of salsas and toppings at a DIY counter so you can dress them up however you like. Everyone was super friendly too. Absolutely worth the trip, and I can’t wait to return.“

There's comfortable seating and you can put your own sauce on like salsa verde. Generous serving sizes as well. Highly recommend eating here if you're in the area! They have horchata as well which was the perfect amount of sweet and helped calm down the spice from the tacos.“

“First - this food is incredible. Spent a lot of time in Houston, ATX, MX, and other taco strongholds. This is more than on par with the best of all of them. Also, fast and fresh.

Second - customer service at both locations is top-tier, from the leadership to the front-of-house.

As there was only one vegetarian option, it was still tasty and amazing to try because of how fresh the ingredients were, the high quality temperature, and the presentation. We got the mushroom tacos and a quesadilla with added pico de gallo, fresh herbs. The quality of the tortilla was fresh, the people were friendly, and the ordering process was smooth through through the kiosk. Since we went in the winter it was freezing but they were nice enough to add a heating fan. The best part about this place and selling point as we all know is the atmosphere. Since the taco spot is a quick eat N go, the keg stands as mini standing tables was very clever and aesthetic. Will come back if I ever am in the area and drunk 🤪“

This place pleasantly surprised me – their tacos were delicious and very well-made. I ordered shrimp, veggie and barbacoa with guacamole as an extra. “Went to the brand new Houston location and things are a bit rocky with staffing and supplies but I want to brag on your employee CAMILLA ! We came from NC and after visiting Puerto Rico several times I was so excited for this experience! She was so patient with us! Answered all our questions with a very helpful and cheerful attitude even tho she was drowning in drink orders! With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well! Camilla even gave me a hug when we left! She made my whole morning! And gave us the absolute best breakfast recommendation as well! Thank u so much Camilla for your grace and kindness this morning. “Tacos Comal is following what every taco spot in Ny is trying to do; and that is to mimic the ever popular Tijuana style taco of course originating from its name sake and an ever popular option in California. And just like these taqueria in NY that try to mimic the look is there but the flavor cannot seem to get it right. These tacos are 3.5, although I cannot give it in my review it’s not deserving a 4 but mediocre is not by any measure and definitely does not deserve a 3. It falls in a 3.5 category. It’s not that the flavor is bad, it’s more that I don’t taste the authenticity. The salsas were weak and the biggest saving grace of this taco spot is its tortillas, which are definitely delicious.

If you’re looking for a good New York taco this is your spot! If you’re looking for an authentic Mexico or California taco they are to be found elsewhere.“
