WARUDE Reviews
Strange but wonderful fusion food!
Salad: simple and excellent. I enjoy the lemon zest and the kale being softened and bite sized.
Tofu: like a school cafeteria. Bland, floury, bought in pre-prepared? sukiyaki style with a house broth from a hotel pan or even skewered on the grill with onions etc. and basted with a glaze could be better
Pickles: store bought? the kind you get from H Mart. a shame when pickling is so easy
Rice: Nothing to complain about, texture depends on the day

WARUDE is a popular spot for tasty and affordable brunch, especially in the summer. Customers enjoy sitting on the sidewalk, soaking in the atmosphere while indulging in delicious rice bowls or tacos. The unique matcha beer is a hit, along with the quick service, chill staff, and pleasant outdoor seating. The eclectic fusion menu offers delights like chicken mole tacos, spicy spiced lattes, ramen with salmon, and turmeric matcha. Many customers praise the good cheese on nachos, the best green salsa in NY, and authentic, homey curry. The chicken is often described as amazing, tender, and nicely charred, with dishes like the Warude Curry—a mix of different breaded items including pork, fish, shrimp, and chicken—receiving high marks. While some find the fusion of Japanese food and tacos a bit questionable, others appreciate the 2-in-1 concept that works well. The matcha açaí latte is noted as very promising. Additionally, the restaurant features a great drink selection, including sake, and often has engaging artists and friendly neighbors. Overall, WARUDE is a neighborhood favorite that serves great food, perfect for quick bites or enjoying a drink on a Thursday night, making it a place worth visiting.
