We've rounded up Ridgewood's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“Best Mexican in Ridgewood! The pozole and enchiladas are my go to's but I have never had anything from here that wasn't delicious. All of the soups are worth visiting for. The service is always so friendly - very easy to visit here a couple times per month if you live nearby !“
“The food, location, the staff members are all good. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and looks good, the seats are comfortable too.The kiosks are easy to use, it is a good environment, I enjoyed spending my time here. I also enjoyed my service too. It is a good restaurant. I will return.“
“This is my fifth or sixth visit to this restaurant since my best friend told me about it. My food is always hot and delicious. There is only one time that I didn’t like the guacamole that was in my burrito. When I place my order now I just omit the guacamole.Food is made to order as soon as the order is taken. I always purchase a chicken quesadilla and a chicken burrito. My experience has always been good.“
“Nice Mexican food, I've come here about three times n ordered the porgie n rice dish, really good. It's a short walk from Freshpond M station with decent seating n good service. It's a simple but nice setting n prices are plenty reasonable.“
“First, the great: order the chilaquiles for brunch. It’s a great non-traditional “elevated” take that retains all the beloved parts of the dish: the soggy-crunchy texture, the fried egg. The twists made sense, from the creamy non-spicy salsa to the hearty beans and mole crunch. It appeals to Americans’ preference for creamy foods. Also, if you can handle a bit of heat, order anything with salsa macha, a slightly spicy smoky-nutty chili oil.The bad: temperature and texture. It felt like most of the food sat at the counter for a long time before they got delivered to our table, or they didn’t even bother to cook the food. The tuna tostada and spring pea tlayuda sat on a soggy, leathery base. The chilaquiles did not touch the stove, just a bunch of chips tossed in sauce. The tacos arrived pretty close to room temp. Flavors were pleasant, but I expected something more intense or interesting from a Michelin place.Overall, the food’s pretty darn good for the price despite the flaws.“
“Ok but not my favorite upscale Mexican in Brooklyn. I really like the tuna tostada (came with tuna, grapefruit, avocado). Got a vegetarian main that was ok, nothing special. Mezcal menu looked good so I’d come back for a drink. Was able to get walk-in seats at the bar by coming right at 5:30 when they open.“
“Really good carne asada tacos (5/5), brisket tacos (4.5/5)! The carne asada in the tacos was incredible - moist, flavorful, and very umami packed without being chewy. Really good. The brisket was great they have you a LOT for the filling. The mile enchiladas were okay (4/5) - the mole sauce was good but the chicken inside was very chewy.“
“Jonnie was our server and amazing! I got 2 tacos and an empanada. The flavors are all outstanding and the seafood is very fresh. They also have homemade salsas which are unique and pack a punch. Definitely a place to come to whether or not you’re “
“I stopped by for drinks around 7pm on a Saturday with some friends. Thankfully there was a table available and we were seated right away. Bosco's has an extensive drink menu, and happy hour if you go during certain times on weekdays. The drinks were average NY prices, and were very good. I got the Sam Said So, while my friend got a Negroni. Both were very good! The service was great, and the decor was fun.“
“My prior visits here had (at best) mediocre food & service. I recently received a gift certificate for Fajitas Sunrise, so I returned to a place I wouldn't otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised. I experienced good service & very nice meal. There are still a few other options for better Mexican food nearby, but on my recent visit, I had a nice meal.“
