“Food was good. ORDERED 2 Patron me $15 and $ 3 for salt on the rim of the glass. NEVER heard of this. Not even in Manhattan. $18 and not about the money. Worst they snuck in $3.25credit card charge with itemized items. Not even separate from food total,as required by new NYS.law. I have receipt to prove it. Will report this on the next work day. And they slap 18% gratuity also.“
“First, the great: order the chilaquiles for brunch. It’s a great non-traditional “elevated” take that retains all the beloved parts of the dish: the soggy-crunchy texture, the fried egg. The twists made sense, from the creamy non-spicy salsa to the hearty beans and mole crunch. It appeals to Americans’ preference for creamy foods. Also, if you can handle a bit of heat, order anything with salsa macha, a slightly spicy smoky-nutty chili oil.The bad: temperature and texture. It felt like most of the food sat at the counter for a long time before they got delivered to our table, or they didn’t even bother to cook the food. The tuna tostada and spring pea tlayuda sat on a soggy, leathery base. The chilaquiles did not touch the stove, just a bunch of chips tossed in sauce. The tacos arrived pretty close to room temp. Flavors were pleasant, but I expected something more intense or interesting from a Michelin place.Overall, the food’s pretty darn good for the price despite the flaws.“
“Ok but not my favorite upscale Mexican in Brooklyn. I really like the tuna tostada (came with tuna, grapefruit, avocado). Got a vegetarian main that was ok, nothing special. Mezcal menu looked good so I’d come back for a drink. Was able to get walk-in seats at the bar by coming right at 5:30 when they open.“
“Really good carne asada tacos (5/5), brisket tacos (4.5/5)! The carne asada in the tacos was incredible - moist, flavorful, and very umami packed without being chewy. Really good. The brisket was great they have you a LOT for the filling. The mile enchiladas were okay (4/5) - the mole sauce was good but the chicken inside was very chewy.“
“My all time favorite taco place in the city. Los Tacos No.1 was my favorite until I tried this place. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their tacos but their pastor is my favorite. Whenever I am in BK, I will always make a stop here. Also try Tako Sando and Mallard Drake (al pastor hamburger) which is right down the “
“A fantastic Mexican/seafood fusion spot!We came here for my husband’s birthday and everything we ordered was divine. We started off with the salsas (you’re going to want to love spicy food if you order this) and got 2 aguachiles (both superb), shrimp tacos (I could have eaten 5 of these), and the whole fish (perfectly cooked, so flavorful and tender). Will definitely be returning soon!Vegetarian options: It’s a heavily seafood based menu so not sure I would recommend for strict vegetarians“
“Came here this week for some tacos and drinks. The tacos were delicious and the drinks were really good with unique flavors that reminded me of Ghost Donkey (miss that place!). Mushroom Margarita and Adobada Bam Bam. Really nice place inside. The Happy Hour menu is a QR code on the menu. Plan on returning!“
“Amazing atmosphere. Visiting from MA and this place came highly recommended. Food and the drinks were fantastic! Magda is an Excellent manager and provides Exceptional service. Make sure to see Kevin when you go, he was great! Will be back again on my next trip to NY.“
“Had a birthday celebration here and the food was so delicious. Staff super friendly. The place itself was LES style, seemingly cramped but as a native I know that’s just how things were built back then. Glad my sister made the reservation to eat here ✨“
“Came in on Good Friday around 6:00 for dinner and sat at the bar. We were warmly welcomed and ordered house margaritas, which were perfectly balanced. We also ordered a mezcal flight. The bartender, Eric, was flexible with the choices in the flight. We ordered from the happy hour menu and had guacamole, beef tacos, and beef nachos, which were thankfully not served as a pile of chips. Each chip was layered with the most tender, flavorful beef, a beautiful pickled jalapeno, tomato, and cheese, with a serving of guacamole adorning the center of the plate. The beef tacos were well seasoned and tender, and the salsa verde was fresh and crisp. The best part of our evening was the hospitality. Eric was personable, informative, and attentive. He educated us about the different mezcals and tequilas and gave us some tips and tricks for navigating the city. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again.“
“This is a super tasty food place, it makes me feel back in the days somewhere in Oaxaca. Dishes are very spicy, I love that but just letting you know, service was great, the place I would say it’s not like to hangout for too long but I feel it’s part of the concept.“
“We came here on the recommendation of a friend and even with her glowing review, we were still blown away! Every dish was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were a steal. Our family had the truffle quesadillas, the carne asada tacos, and the langosta tacos. We shared an order of guac and the kids had the flan and churros for dessert. Great dinner; we can't wait to return!“
“I had got 2 bowls and 2 nachos bags with queso sauce for a responsibly price and the workers was very fast and polite . and not to Exaggerate I almost cried the way the food was so good I totally recommend everyone to come to this this spot !!!“
“This was the best Mexican I've had in Park Slope. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the steak. Both meals were delicious, but I'd say the chicken was the best chicken I've had in years, hands down. Juicy with crispy skin and delicious sauce. The service was slow (took 40+ minutes to receive our food after ordering), but that's probably because we didn't get drinks or apps. Both looked great, but not for us. The vibe is a little loud, but great decor with very pleasant energy. Looking forward to bringing my parents here when they visit next time.“
“This is a very cute, quaint, comfy lil place. The food was amazing, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was wonderful! I didn't take pics, but the presentation was really good as well.Vegetarian options: Everything! And it's soooo good!“
“Great vegan cuisine--their three dips are amazing, especially their cheese.Loved the two cocktails I ordered, and given their extensive Mezcal list, I know I'll be back for more. Wonderful service, servers and manager were so kind and accommodating! And don't forget to order dessert.Dietary restrictions: Our server asked right away as we ordered, if we had any allergies.“
“I went to this place in Nolita because I heard a lot about their Corn Y Cubano and it didn't disappoint. The corn is grilled right in front of you with all the toppings you could want, making it a great lunch for a sunny day. I also tried their steak sandwich and found it really tasty, though the fries were a bit soggy for my liking. The restaurant is pretty busy, but the service is fast and the staff are nice. It's a good spot for a quick bite if you're in the area and don't mind waiting a bit.“
“fantastic spot!!!! as a mexican is always a pleasure to find a legit mex place! with great food and kind people! we went for dinner, beto and the crew were amazing! we had flautas, tetela, quesadilla and a sope and everything was amazing!!! we also had a concha as a dessert and drinks and mezcal, we will be back for brunch! ?❤️? thanks crew for taking us to our georgeous ??“
“They are always packed which is good but not when it gets too crowded which is often expect to wait about 30-45 min for your food however their food is decent. I had a chicken quesadilla and the chicken was dry. i tried it again but this time birria and it was much better but once you get to the center its dry overall their decent and good for cravings and btw there is no parking!!!!“
“I love this place. My partner and I have been here many times. The food is reliably very good. Some dishes can be a miss, but many are hits and when they hit, they really hit. The chips and guacamole and the salsas are standout-good. Last time we ordered the wings, a salad, and a shrimp dish and they were all excellent. In the past there was a skirt steak quesadilla-like thing that was one of the best things I've ever eaten - I wish they'd bring it back. Their salsa macha is excellent. Veggies and salads are often a highlight. Also, nearly everything is gluten-free. I have celiac disease and it is so nice to go somewhere where pretty much everything on the menu is safe for me to eat!On top of that, the ambience is lovely. It's a really pretty space and just pleasant to be in. I'd probably come here just for the ambience even if the food was mediocre. The staff are also lovely. The last time we ate here it had been 4-5 months since our last visit and they remembered who we were and even what we ordered last time! This was the final push I needed to write a review.Dietary restrictions: Excellent gluten-free options. Restaurant is celiac friendly. Usually the whole menu is gluten free.“
“What a great find! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is authentic Mexican and the cocktails are so fresh! Alex, the manager, made sure I was comfortable. All the staff is very welcoming. Get yourself a cocktail and order family style so you can try a bit of everything.“
“A new favorite. Food is stellar- get the steak and dip it in the potato sauce (thank me later). Immaculate service- kind, lovely people. Small spot but great vibes. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Oh and get the flan and for dessert!“
“This place is a gem! Located in one of my favorite areas to visit in greenpoint. Panzons atmosphere is amazing even on a rainy day. I had to opportunity to try the new brunch menu. What a treat! Do not skip the Chilaquiles, so much flavor. The pollo torta was unique and tasty. Make sure you get the tres leches French toast for the table. Can’t wait to come back to try the tuna tostada and ceviche!“
“Now, I come here for the vibes and drinks. I love their margaritas. I would suggest getting a handmade margarita because it is superior to the others. Now, to the food because if you are going to drink, well, you will eat. The best thing to order when sharing is the Plato Don. If I am stopping in for a drink, I have the Guacamole. The only thing that I am not a fan of is the greasy tortillas. When the place is busy, the service is average, you get your food quickly, and you have to wait a bit before your waiter checks in to see how things are going.“
“Ive been here a couple of times and as a LA native, this place definitely makes tacos that remind me of home. There is only outdoor seating so I would keep that in mind if you plan on visiting during colder weather. But The tacos were delicious and I got way more queso and chips than I was expecting. They were sold out the last time I stopped by so that should give you a good idea of the quality of the food.“
“This is some of the best food of any kind l've had in my 45 years living in NYC. Honestly, it's amazing, chef Jose is delightful and his dishes are so nuanced and delicious. Octopus tostados are heavenly, I have no idea what all it consist of but they are delicious. There are three, I can't eat more than two but the last is always enjoyed by someone else at the table. Burrito are a staple for my lunch/dinner... so fresh and comforting. AND I'm not really a fan of most Mexican food but this is on a whole other level. I just finished a salad of shrimp, avocado, mango, cherry tomato, with paper thin fennel shredded on top. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all but ever so slightly firm and succulent. I live in Manhattan and there isn't anything near me as delicious and fresh. It’s really a special place.“
“This was a delivery order and it was my first time. Mexican food can be hit or miss, especially from city to city. This was a hit right out of the park. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with guacamole and chips, and one side of salsa and a side of guacamole. Portions were impressively large. The burrito was a 10 out of 10. The guacamole was also a 10 and the price for all of it was very reasonable, especially for NYC. This place is a game changer. Whatever you're doing... Keep on doing it!“
“Stop by for dinner without a reservation and The Manager and hostess were very accommodating on a very busy night . We had the fish empanadas that were deliciousA couple of MargaritasGrilled Branzino and fish schnitzelA wonderful experienceKudos to the CheffExcellent service, fantastic food and great atmosphere!Definitely a special place“
“Best tacos in New York CityWhen I come to New York, all I think about is Rostaco. It's really delicious here tooTacos and Consome are steamedIf you see it while passing by, be sure to try it!!!This is a really good restaurant that locals know!!!“
“We’ve come here a few times, and it gets better with every visit! The pickle pear margarita was outstanding and everything we ordered (guacamole, scallops, and rib eye) were all excellent. Our server, Chris, was super attentive and very helpful with the menu — just overall a fantastic dinner and experience. Looking forward to coming back soon!“
“Great cocktails, great bartender, i saw her making drinks and runing the bar, she looks like she knows her s..t. Waitress was nice, food overall was good, besides the octopus, great flavors but so tough, it needed at least 30 min more to be cooked. 2nd visit so i don’t want to say anything, next time i will probably.I will be back as the experience is nice.“
“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular place for me. Highly recommend!“
“We were super hungry and found this family-owned hole-in-the-wall place and decided to check it out…and I’m so glad we did! Margaritas were amazing (and so many flavor choices!) and the menu was perfect for me as a gluten free vegetarian. Everything was clearly labeled and there was a vegetarian section. I had enchiladas which were soo delicious. You won’t regret trying this place!“
“My wife and I came here for lunch this past Saturday and we loved it. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. We got a few tacos, a quesadilla, birria, a torta and a tequila flight, We also had a custard type dessert with a coffee based dessert cocktail. We sat at the bar and had a blast. The bartender was super friendly and informative on anything we had questions about. Watching him craft the cocktails was an experience in itself. We will definitely be back.“
“Tacombi UES is the best Mexican on the upper east side. The food, service, and drinks are all oustanding. Mauricio is also one the best bartenders I’ve ever had. He is personable and attentive and makes fantastic drinks. Highly recommend tacombi UES to anyone looking for authentic Mexican street tacos and fantastic drinks made by Mauricio.“
“lovely hidden gem on Avenue A between 13th and 14th streets. The place is family owned and operated and the food is to do for. It is reasonably priced, I often find myself trying to figure out if I want a tamale or a shredded beef or pork taco.“
“Happened upon this restaurant with friends, and what a great find it was! Food was very good. I had the Enchiladas with their special Mole sauce. Excellent. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. This will now be on my list of favorite restaurants to visit and recommend.“
“Sloppy and yummy Mexican tacos. So so so good! The taste was great, so flavourful. The soup next to it was perfect. I would highly recommend this place. Price was a little steep for my understanding but maybe that’s just the area. Friendly staff, cute atmosphere and great taste. What a dinner! Be prepared to get your hands dirty!“
“Absolutely excellent! This place did not disappoint AT ALL. Having multiple Mexican restaurants very close to their location they stand out for their authenticity to the Mexican flavors. Julio was an excellent host as one of the owners/managers. So happy I had that experience at mayahuel, definitely going back.“
“I had been wanting to come here for months after passing it every day and finally stopped by. It was incredible! We had their enchiladas and flautas and rice and beans. They tasted so authentic and homey like what our family cooks (but slightly more elevated). The special on the night that we went was a tamal oaxaqueño and it tasted exactly like the ones my partner and I have had in Mexico. I’ve been here a few times now, both for dine-in and takeout, and it’s a new favorite of mine.“
“This restaurant was absolutely incredible. It started when our waiter, Edison, from Ecuador greeted us and we had a very nice conversation with him, about his life, family and time in NYC. We started with Guacamole and chips. It was absolutely yummy. When our daughter arrived, we all ordered Shrimp tacos, which were delicious. Edison introduced me to the owner, Petru, from Moldavia, as I am a Google map contributer. What a very nice man, he came to our table and we talked for about 45 minutes. As a result, we were given free churros, so tasty, free shots(mine non-alcoholic) and my husband and daughter, free Drinks ,called Palomas. This Bar/restaurant is the foremost tequila/mescal place in Brooklyn! The bartender, Uriel was a really sweet man, also. This beautiful place will be one of our places to visit, when we are in Brooklyn!“
“I do eat here twice a week at least near by my job I love them chicken roasted with fries salad and rice for less then 14$ them prices fair specially happy hour drink 8$ that super good for upscale restaurantCustomer service is so great and professional I love the lights and the setting I’m loyal there lol“
“I have been dining at La Flor since they first opened a while ago. Chef Viko is very creative and does a regular menu plus seasonal specials. He uses farmer’s market ingredients and is very generous with the portions. Expect to see very colorful and tasty combinations. The core of the menu here is Mexican food with French and Italian notes. The home made pastries and desserts are a solid plus to the dining experience. The wine list has Ben carefully selected and the moderate prices don’t sacrifice the quality. In all, La Flor is one of my favorites in New York City.Vegetarian options: Salads, seasonal veggies.Dietary restrictions: The chef is very knowledgeable and kind and is willing to accommodate special requests.Kid-friendliness: Family place and everyone is welcome.“
“¡K Rico! This was my second time coming here with my friend, who's a regular, I had the squash blossom enchiladas, ¡vegano!, I'm a vegan, they were so good. The squash blossom enchiladas were hitting! I was practically doing the yummy food dance in my chair from all the textures, unctuousness and umami it was delivering in such a delicate humble dish with it's thick wholesome sauce. We shared the chips and guac, I asked for salt, knowing from the time before that all the flavors are there, it just needs some salt, for me, to make them shine. Obviously you rather it be under salted then over, got to watch my pressure. The chips are always fresh and what you expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. To drink the waitress recommended the spicy passion fruit margarita and it was so deliciously well-balanced with sweet, spicy and tart, that I made my friend try it and she agreed. Tía behind the bar is a Queen mixologist. The energy here is grounding, the set up is simple allowing the experience to shine. Everyone working there seems to be from Latin American, it does feel like a home kitchen restaurant. As opposed to other "authentic Mexican" places you may go in NYC where the staff are cold hipsters, the owners are wealthy investors and the chef is Indian. There's actual Mexican people chilling here. The food doesn't always come out fast, so go with people you like; don't kill the vibe. The first time I dinned here, I got the nopales tacos. They were good, I just don't think I appreciated it as much, because a month before that I had nopales tacos grilled over fire along with spring onion, topped with fresh salsas, with the grilled tortilla in the backyard of my Mexican friend's bike shop for his birthday. With a michelada! Nothing is really going to top that nopales experience. But I do recommend the nopales tacos here, I know it's hard to get that outside fire grill on food in New York indoor dining, but that flavors were good and the texture was right. If you've made it to the end of this review, congratulations, you're probably very hungry and you should just go eat at Martha's concina.Vegetarian options: I'm vegan and I was able to enjoy different plates on the separate occasions I went. Vegan dishes are clearly marked and the wait staff is knowledgeable. The Vegan/veg options are well orchestrated full meals, made from natural whole foods with developed flavors.“
“Solid Mexican food. For apps, we got the fried goat cheese with honey (standout), chips and guacamole (bad value) and the slow cooked pork app (very tasty). I got the divorced enchiladas for my entree and it was terrific. The horchata mezcal drink was interesting but just not a good combo imo. Will come back and try something else.“
“This place is amazing! The food is always fresh, employees are very friendly and the prices are unbelievable. I can’t believe you get that much food for such an affordable price. I have been here 3 days in a row and the only thing I’m mad about is that I just found out about this place 3 days ago.“
“Embarking on a culinary expedition to this local taqueria, I found myself ensconced in a veritable fiesta of flavors and textures, a testament to the prowess of the owner, Jose, whose recommendations became the lodestar of our gastronomic journey. The Steak a la Mexicano Tacos were a triumph of generosity, with portions scoring a robust 9/10, each bite a harmonious blend of succulence and spice, though the freshness fluttered at a 7/10, leaving a slight yearning for the zest of just-plucked produce. The Chicken Fajita Quesadilla was a vibrant tapestry of flavor, meriting an 8/10, with the cheese melting into the well-seasoned chicken in a decadent embrace, though the ingredients, while robust, hovered at a 7/10, occasionally lacking the punch of peak harvest vivacity. The Barbacoa Soup was a simmering cauldron of comfort, its depth and complexity cocooning the soul in warmth, yet it too danced around the 7/10 mark for freshness, suggesting a slight detour from the garden's embrace. The service, however, was unparalleled, a perfect 10/10, with staff moving with the precision and grace of seasoned culinarians, ensuring every need was anticipated and met with a smile.Presentation was an 8/10, each dish a canvas where color and form played in delightful harmony, inviting the eye to feast long before the palate. Overall, the experience was a solid 8.5/10, a delectable sojourn that promises to beckon the taste buds back to its doors. This taqueria, under the sage guidance of Jose, melds tradition with a hint of modernity, crafting an ambiance where each visit unfurls new layers of culinary delight.“
“We loved the bottomless brunch experience here, just $30 for 90 minutes and the drinks were strong! I loved the breakfast burrito and French toast, and the Queso FUNDIDO to start!Amazing and attentive service and a space that was great for our birthday brunch!“
“Taqueria Al Pastor delivers an exceptional dining experience with their excellent tacos! I recently tried their chicken and fish tacos, and they were bursting with flavor. The freshness of their handmade tortillas truly elevated the meal. Moreover, their customer service is top-notch, making the overall experience delightful. Every bite was a testament to their dedication to quality and taste. Absolutely delicious!“
“This place is kind of a dive. I don't mean to say that you shouldn't eat here. On the contrary, the food was pretty good! But I went there today with some family and was hoping to find a Mexican restaurant that's comfortable for eating on the property. It's a really small space, I think there were 4 to 6 tables, and somehow I didn't get that from looking at the yelp reviews. For the food alone, the place is at least worth 4 stars. The Guacamole here is better than at many, many places... freshly made, has enough salt, cilantro... I'm a guac snob, and I liked this. The chips are a typical fried tortilla, and they were good. 3 of us had Quesadillas, one with mushrooms, one with beef, and the other with shrimp. We all liked them. One of us got a burrito, which was pretty hefty, and they liked what they got. Same person got a slice of Tres Leches and a slice of cheesecake and loved them. Service was fine. The place is on a corner with plenty of street parking around (on a Saturday afternoon). It's not much to look at but I would return with a smaller group.“
