Experience at Alma Negra last night was outstanding. The service was so incredibly welcoming, I asked about wines and the bartender immediately took out their four bottles and poured me a taste of each. They were all refined and balanced. It was hard to choose but settled on a South African white. Just a touch of oak, which stood up well to the flavors of the meal. Got the fish taco and elote which were both very good. The fish taco was cod and was deep fried and extra crispy. To drink I had the Cariñosa which was a little sweet for my taste.

This was the best Mexican I've had in Park Slope. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the steak. Both meals were delicious, but I'd say the chicken was the best chicken I've had in years, hands down. Juicy with crispy skin and delicious sauce. The service was slow (took 40+ minutes to receive our food after ordering), but that's probably because we didn't get drinks or apps. Both looked great, but not for us.
