“I love this place. My partner and I have been here many times.The food is reliably very good. Some dishes can be a miss, but many are hits and when they hit, they really hit. The chips and guacamole and the salsas are standout-good. Last time we ordered the wings, a salad, and a shrimp dish and they were all excellent. In the past there was a skirt steak quesadilla-like thing that was one of the best things I've ever eaten - I wish they'd bring it back. Their salsa macha is excellent. Veggies and salads are often a highlight. Also, nearly everything is gluten-free. I have celiac disease and it is so nice to go somewhere where pretty much everything on the menu is safe for me to eat!On top of that, the ambience is lovely. It's a really pretty space and just pleasant to be in. I'd probably come here just for the ambience even if the food was mediocre. The staff are also lovely. The last time we ate here it had been 4-5 months since our last visit and they remembered who we were and even what we ordered last time! “Love the food here! Definitely worth the wait. I recommend the guacamole with mango and the strawberry lemonade. It does get pretty busy on the weekend so if you are in a rush come on a weekday instead! However if you are having a chill weekend definitely dine in and get a molcajete with the green sauce. The presentation is beautiful. Shout to the servers, cooks, and delivery guys for all their hard work.Vegetarian options: Most of their dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. “The food is delicious here ! I got the Birria deluxe. It came with a cup of consomé, a taco de birria, empanada de birria, and I want to say a quesadilla de birria but I’m not quite sure I think it’s their twist of it. Overall all three were so good my favorite was the empanada never had that with birria and my mind was completely blown away with how delicious that was. I will say it does get chaotic inside with many people ordering waiting and on top of delivery orders so the wait was on the 30-45 mins. Other than that 10/10. I did also try the agua de horchata. I won’t say it was my top suggestion for horchata I felt it more on a leche side like a smoothie almost not sure why it was made that way instead of being more on the water side like it normally is but maybe that’s just their twist to it. Other than that great food. This was all $19.. the food itself was $15 .. so I know that can be a little high for some. One taco is $5.. so I would take that into consideration for some“

“Absolutely delicious Oaxacan food. I've always wanted to visit Oaxaca and this place definitely gave us a taste of what it will be like. The restaurant is small with a few tables but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch on a holiday Monday. My boyfriend and I shared the mole poblano, mole oaxaqueño, and molcajete. The mole dishes came with rice, beans, and warm tortilla and I also got a small horchata. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, bursting with flavor with every bite. Nothing was too spicy but if you like sweeter things, I would highly recommend the mole poblano.“

The wine list has Ben carefully selected and the moderate prices don’t sacrifice the quality. “Recently came here and the burgers are good! It’s the sister store to George’s Deli on 28th and 37th street. But anyways the place is relatively new but it has way more to offer it’s not just a place where you get deli food but now they offer Mexican dishes. On top of that they have a variety of Mexican products! I feel right at home here. Also one of the employees told me they sell specific mexican dishes on the weekends like barbacoa. Definitely recommend you visit!“
“This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“

Their quesadillas are served open-faced, featuring seared cheese and meat and are definitely the most unique, expressive item they have on the menu. The chorizo is well-seasoned and charred to perfection. Will strongly rec this to anyone wanting to know what's worth their time and money on the menu.The mole negro was also good. The sauce is the star of the show; it's flavorful, rich and generously applied to the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas and chicken on their own are mild but that's okay because they're a canvas for this absolutely fire mole sauce. Would also recommend this.The asada tacos are good but I wouldn't get them again. The margaritas are pretty good also, slightly on the sweeter side but still worth a try (I like mine more tart). “This is my first Yelp review ever but this modest little restaurant deserves it. Not only is the food surprisingly delicious but the owners and staff are warm, welcoming and generous. They always offer something while waiting for take out and when eating in they take the time to talk to you and make you feel part of things. They even remember me from one visit to another which is something I never experienced before. I fully recommend. Everything is good but we particularly love the Burria tacos only served on weekends as well as the specials they offer which are always .. well... special!“

“It so happened that I've just gotten back from Mexico the week before so I had a fresh palate to compare Tacombi's tacos to. Well, they taste just like they do in Mejico!No water-down "Americanized" or Tex-mex here. Every ingredient adds flavor. Their tortillas are made of flavorful corn (not flavorless flour that just holds things together), their meats are deliciously seasoned and juicy (they don't rely on cheeses and salty greasy rice to get flavor), and their home-made salsas for the tacos go so well with the specific meat.My favorites? Baja Fish. The batter is light and crispy, and the cabbage and sauce make it a party flavor. A close second are the Sinaloa Shrimp and the Beef Birria (the consome is delicious).Since I don't live far, I've started to be a regular with my budsfor 2 for 1 Taco Tuesdays. We love that we don't have to wait to get seated, that the atmosphere is simple and casual, but more importantly, the service is friendly (thank you Deandra!) and quick!My wife also likes this place but, because she's vegetarian, there's only one type of taco (Black Bean & Sweet Potato) and one tostada (Avocado Tostada) that she can pick from. She loves those though!My only recommendation to Tacombi is to switch to corn on the cob for the street corn and to pleeez add Carnitas, another vegetarian choice (maybe re-fried beans and Nopal, or with Jackfruit [Yaka]) and, since it's roots are from Yucatan, why not Cochinita Pibil?All-in-all, not just one of my favorite spots in Forest Hills but actually in Queens!“
