“I performed at Avenue this last Friday coming from Greece, this place is a true gem in Astoria and NY. Exemplary service, excellent food, great place to play music for people to enjoy. I was impressed by the fact that apart from the Reggaeton & English songs, there were people not speaking Greek as their 1st language who enjoyed the Greek music I also played. Would love to be back at Avenue sometime, huge credit to the management and everyone running such a successful business!!! ❤️?“
“I absolutely love this perfect little cafe. Flavorful coffee and tea and little snacks and sandwiches and everything in between. Very fresh, delicious pastries! The staff is welcoming and the vibe is very positive. Everything is decently priced.“
“Randomly came across this great coffee shop on my morning walk and I can see why it's rated so highly. The coffee is great and the baked goods are insane. Is it normal to spend the majority of your day daydreaming about their apple crumb muffins? I didn't think so, but here we are.“
“Tried out this place through TGTG: Pick up process was very smooth, and the owner was very friendly. I got a mix of sweet and savory pastries and everything was really good ??I also got a chai tea latte and I loved it! Looked around the place while I was at it and I really liked the atmosphere too. Will be coming back :)“
“I love it here! So comfortable and the owners are great- friendly, witty, and caring people. It's like the coffee shop version of Cheers!! Mostly go for an espresso but when I don't want caffeine, they also have a great decaf espresso, which is hard to find. The Greek Frappe and Frozen Hot Chocolate with a shot of espresso are amazing treats too. Breakfast recommendation- Eggs w/ Feta + Bacon. Lunch recommendation- Avocado or Tuna salad or any of the sandwiches on baguette. They now have beer and wine, so there's no reason to not go there. I recommend the Greeks- whatever the cabernet that starts with an 'O' is delish and Fix beer is refreshing!!“
“The best NY style bagels EVER. end your search this is the spot. Perfect chewy outside soft inside and not to mention they are massive. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and they have decadent homemade cream cheese to pair it with. The bacon egg and cheese and the lox bagel are my two favorite sandwiches they make. I always take home jalapeño bagels and Garlic herd cream cheese. Try fresh squeezed OJ!!!“
“big fan of Chip!! I come here a few times a month. not every flavor is a winner for me, but everyone has different preferences :) I LOVE the oatmeal apple pie, it's probably my favorite, although sometimes it may be a little overbaked and drier, or maybe it's just that there's less filling.confetti, cinnamon roll, teddy grahams, and brookie are most of my go-to's, but there's so many other great options! if you like a chunkier cookie, this is the spot for youDietary restrictions: They offer two dairy-free options every week“
“I enjoyed this spot! The iced chai was a bit on the sweeter side but the spice was perfect. I also had a tasty spinach pie. I both picked up a nice 2G2G there and purchased my own beverage. I'd love to go again! There's no bathroom for patrons but it is a very cute spot right in the corner.“
“They made me over and easy eggs exactly how I like them sandwich was very delicious the guy behind the counter can be a little more friendlier but otherwise the guy made me a very nice sandwich two eggs over easy on whole wheat bread toasted and it was delicious so I recommended for the food the guy can smile a little more“
“We had 2 bagels from here and coffee, bagels were amazing. One bagel was plain with tofu artichoke and spinach, this was really nice and not overpowering. The other bagel was an everything with tofu scallion, the onion flavour was a bit overwhelming for breakfast. The bagels were so fresh. I have a peanut allergy and they did serve peanut butter, they were really good and put fresh gloves on and a fresh knife. This was really good for me. For 2 big bagels, a coffee and 2 cold drinks it was $25 dollars which is good.“
“Parrot Coffee of Astoria. From what I know, there are 2 in Sunnyside and another one in Maspeth, Queens. Feels like a mama and papa store with lot of European (Specializing Balkan region, Mediterranean, Turkish products from cookies, coffee, pastas, meats! They have in-house pizzeria, too. Lot of Italian coffee brands that are famous like illy, Lavazza and local brands like Brooklyn Roasters, etc etc. On the last stop of N or Q line Ditmars Blvd. Highly recommended ? ??“
“Chip City had very yummy cookies. They were warm and soft, just like how cookies should be. The person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The reason why I'm not giving a five star rating is because we basically had to guess what the cookies were and what was in them because there weren't any signs explaining that.“
“Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The iced coffee was very good - I had it with oat milk. The breakfast platter was good! I would have preferred it with cream cheese instead of butter (it would make more sense given the lox, imo) and the bread was kind of stale. However, the eggs, avocado, and tomato were delicious. The person taking our orders was really nice, and the place is cute.Definitely recommend!“
“My friend went to order a coffee while I was waiting for the bus. (Q101 is Infront) they prepared for a small coffee for $1.60 to go. inside is ok old fashioned. A bathroom is set up. Friendly and kind. They close at 3pm I couldn't order anything. you may want to try it or not it's up to you. I saw a woman ordered a frappe-chino looked so good. I think I'm gonna try next time.“
“I'm not a big fan of DD, but my wife loves their ice coffee. The Steinway street store is a bit on the small side, but efficiently run, So service is quick. Also nice is their senior discount is as good if not better than other DD's.“
“Delicious coffee! You can really tell the difference between this coffee and regular, every day chain-store coffee! Service was friendly and he took the time to explain some differences between Greek and regular coffee. Fresh and delicious!“
“Nestled in the heart of Astoria, Balancero is not your ordinary coffee spot – it’s a delightful coffee shop gem.My go-to order is an almond latte, which is perfect every time, with a creamy texture and a delightful nutty flavor. The service at Balancero is nothing short of exceptional. The orders are prompt, without compromising on quality. It has a charming ambiance and fosters a great sense of community. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you’re welcomed with a friendly smile! If you’re in search of a spot to indulge in your favorite coffee fix or simply craving a warm beverage to brighten your day, Balancero won’t disappoint.
