“GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. GERMAN DONER KEBAB - EINE ERLEUCHTUNG Wenn man aus Berlin kommt, hat man gefühlt an jeder zweiten Ecke einen Dönerladen. Ich kann also einen Döner erkennen und beurteilen, wenn ich ihn sehe. Allein schon Berlin und Brandenburg verlassend wird das mit dem Döner innerhalb von Deutschland anders. Je weiter man sich von Berlin entfernt, desto schlechter werden die Döner. In New York entdeckte ich schon vor einiger Zeit den einen oder anderen Anbieter mit dem Versuch, einen Döner zu machen. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. Und dort dann der erste Döner seit 2018 hier in New York. Ich kann gar nicht beschreiben, wie sehr ich mich gefreut hatte. Es sah aus wie ein Döner, es schmeckte wie ein Döner und kam schon recht nah an einen Döner aus Berlin heran. Richtig gut gemacht. Incl. Tax 12,51 Dollar ist zwar sportlich, aber für New York wiederum preiswert. Die Portion ordentlich und sättigend. Wirklich alles frisch und gut gewürzt. Das Brot genau so wie es sein muss, dünn und knusprig. Also das war seit sehr sehr langer Zeit so ziemlich der beste Döner (mit Ausnahme einem Besuch in Berlin), den ich seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. “We were told about this place by the hotel we stayed at and boy am I glad! We went about 3 times in our 5 nights. Food was great, price was reasonable and late at night, the guy was friendly! Now back home, we joke that we need our Empire buddy to the rescue when we can't figure out what to eat! Haha...“

“I couldn’t get a picture of anyone’s food since we all dug in right away but the food here is amazing! We had their Birria tacos, a steak meal and a steak fajitas meal—chef’s kiss! They were very kind, welcoming and family oriented here. The place is small, I will say, it’s way smaller than I expected but nonetheless, we were quickly seated and the music was good the entire time. This was a memorable experience , thank you!“

“Stopped here for a smoothie before my flight. You can add protein powder for an extra charge. Smoothie came out super fast. Nelson and John at the front register had great attitudes and delivered great service. The airport can be a stressful place, but they made me laugh. I will come back next time I’m at LGA!“

“Few places are as accommodating as the staff here. The menu, although on available digitally, is extensive. Large selection of GF (gluten free) items. You can start with apps, choose from pizza or pasta as an entree. It is BYOB and that can make for a fun evening. They will accommodate to suit taste, we had someone that was sensitive to sodium, they adjusted sted the entree to suit. The place is small, the food tasty and seriously, the service is over the top.“

“Gio, Yazmin and Mikayla were great. Two people greeted us when we walked in, which actually made us stay because we never ate here before. Food was good.

The only thing off putting was a white lady (I’m assuming the manager or owner) with long hair walking around making the atmosphere stiff with a not so great tone towards the employee. She also was walking behind the counter and in the back with no hair net and not even in a ponytail. Otherwise I would go again.“

I get that as a small business you have to close up when it’s slow but it’s frustrating for patrons to inquire about your closing time frequently. please update your hours to a consistent earlier closing time instead of asking patrons to leave sooner than they anticipated. “I was looking for a healthy but hearty meal after a long day of work and salad house hit it outta the park. It’s a newer place on Main Street I have been meaning to check out and it didn’t disappoint. I made my own salad bowl with salmon that was cooked PERFECTLY truly amazing. Everything was so flavorful I ended up not even using the dressing I picked it simply wasn’t needed in my opinion so now I have some sauce to make something at home with! It ended up being around $35+ but that’s because I got a lot of add on and honestly I don’t regret it at all. It was a treat yourself kinda tab lol. “I had a wonderful experience at Peri Peri Original! The 1/4 chicken with rice was delicious, the chicken was juicy and full of flavor, and the rice went perfectly with it. It reminded me of Nando’s, and I didn’t get heartburn after eating it. The Nashville chicken sandwich was amazing too, with a great kick of spice.

I've been eating here on and off for years, and it has always been delicious. I was concerned that the menu and the quality of the food would change when they changed owners, but thankfully the chef may still be the same, because the food is still outstanding. I always order Middle Easten dishes and everything is seasoned perfectly. I travel the world for food, and I have to say that this place makes very good renditions of middle eastern dishes. Everything from their Baba ghanoush, their kabobs, and even the simple things like the accompanying grilled vegetables and salad are done to perfection. Kudos to the chef. I definitely recommend the food at this place.
