1 of a kind restaurant! Please do not come here expecting your typical restaurant experience. Understand you are getting an authentic Egyptian home cooked meal that happens to be in a restaurant in Queens. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in New York. Walking into Mombar feels less like entering a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The owner runs the entire place himself, cooks everything, and personally walks you through the menu for the evening. The space is peppered with his own artwork, adding to the incredible warmth and intimacy of the whole experience.
