“We ordered for the first time tonight from Sammy, former proprietor of JuJu’s Bagels now transformed into El Toum. We ordered 4 items and they were ready for pickup in less than 25 minutes. The Mixed Kebab platter, Kofta Burger with fries, Falafel Sandwich with extra tahini sauce, and El Toum Appetizer were refreshingly homemade, tasted delicious, and proved outstanding bangs for the buck. More than enough food for a family of four with leftovers. This is a very welcome addition to a neighborhood missing this kind of fare. I highly recommend supporting this local business. Some of the best falafel and tabouli I’ve tasted in quite some time too!“

“I stopped by Zaki’s Halal while looking for a place to eat, and I’m so glad I did! The food was absolutely incredible fresh, flavorful, and one of the best halal meals I’ve had.
The owner was extremely kind and welcoming, and the young lady working there was also very professional, friendly, and helpful. Their customer service made the experience even better.

I usually order the mixed cold platter with a side of kofta for delivery and my order never disappoints. “Really a great and very unique restaurant. First of all, the bread is more than great and completely different from any other bread in the United States. In the restaurant, you feel as if you are in Egypt or any other Arab country. You can have breakfast with beans, falafel, hummus, liver, and heart, just like you would eat in any popular restaurant in Egypt. For lunch, you can also eat Mandi and various delicious meats. “My opinion is 8.3/10. Overall I did enjoy it for my first shashuka. $15 for hummus, 2 eggs and 2 pitas pockets. Overall fresh and enjoyable. One thing that stood out was how quickly everything was prepared — the food came out almost immediately, which made the experience really convenient without sacrificing freshness. The only small issue was that it was a little difficult to hear the employee speaking because she was very quiet and the plexiglass made communication harder. We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.“

“One of my favorite halal spots in queens. Food and service is impeccable. Even though I got a salad platter they still threw in some rice so you won’t go hungry. Chicken and lamb are amazing. Perfect amount of char and still tender. They also usually give out a free sample of falafel which is cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also cook it in an oval shape so it’s a bit more crispy as opposed to the circle ones. Must try and always get extra white sauce and hot sauce. Food is hot, fresh and comes out quickly“

I had this experience more than 20 times. I can't understand why they treat non Arab people different. So be careful. Otherwise food is 5 star and service is awful.“

“*4/5 stars — Great hall and food, one staffing issue*

We held our event at this hall and overall it was a really nice experience. The venue is clean, well-decorated, and has a great layout for guests. The food was a standout — fresh, hot, and flavorful. Everyone at our table commented on how good it was.

The only issue we ran into was with one of the volunteer staff members. Instead of serving, he sat down and ate with the guests. He also cleared plates and removed food from the table while people were still eating. It was awkward and threw off the flow of the meal a bit.

Outside of that, the rest of the team was attentive and the manager was responsive when we mentioned it. For the quality of the hall and food, I’d still recommend booking here. Hopefully they address the volunteer training so guests can finish their meals in peace.

*Cons:* Volunteer staff behavior — clearing food too early, eating with guests

Would book again, and I hope they sort out the staffing detail because everything else was top-notch.“

“Chicken and rice is beautiful, best I’ve tried in Brooklyn. They improved a lot since I was in town a year ago. The marinated chicken is very tasty, I think they use tomato, and the chicken is very well cooked, not greasy or anything. It is a little spicy tho, but the rest of the food balances it out. Rice cooked perfect as well. I remember last year I came here the rice was dry.“

“This spot is Legit, new owners are welcoming and friendly. Celebrated a Friend’s birthday and all the staff was very attentive. They even decorated the booth with a Happy birthday sign and some flowers. They have beer buckets, cocktails, and different selection of beer . We had Chicken mofongo as appetizers, just a quick bite . The nachos were complimentary for the tables/ booth. I really enjoyed the hooka “Love”, kitchen closes at 1am . Also, they have a Dj every night , will definitely come back !!“

“Taste Choice Shawarma is one of those places that just does it right. The rice platters are the best thing to order—flavorful, filling, and consistently on point. If you’re not getting a platter, at least grab the kebab platter or get the kebabs on the side because they’re a must-have.
The sandwiches are great too, packed well and full of flavor. Food overall is amazing, and the service is top-tier—super friendly, and sometimes they’ll even let you keep a bottle of sauce at the table so you can go crazy with it if you’re dining in.
