“I had a meal first time from Hakki Baba and I think I’ll be a regular. The food is authentic. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. I only had a quick glance at other dishes. I want to try them all. Great experience.Parking: In front of the restaurant.“
“Just a day ago I had a late lunch here, my NJ friend bringing me over recommending this place. I was on a short visit to NJ, having no idea about this place before. The Turkish meal that I chose ("beğendi") could be one of the best that I ever had outside of a home environment! I have some dental issues these days so I went for gyro as the meat companion to the eggplant base instead of the more traditional choice of skewered meat and the whole thing turned out to be lovely, served by a kind and attentive young lady. We had one "künefe" as a desert in the end and that was great too. I complimented them there and feel that I should do it here as well. Definitely recommended!“
“All other Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants try to imitate Dayinin Yeri, none come close. This restaurant sets the gold standard for healthy Mediterranean cuisine par excellence. I am a devote of the 333 Palisades Avenue location, although the Gorge Road location is EXCELLENT and beautiful.Dayinin Yeri is ideal for a date, group of friends (and family) or a party. I’ve done all three. Which is to say, it’s fun for a crowd or dinner for two. Love that it’s BYOB.The quality and preparation of the food is extraordinary. The Shepard Salad with fetta is perfection on a plate. The bread, special bread, lahmacun and pide are masterful. The lebni proof there is a heaven and all the all the hot and cold appetizers are fabulous. The entrees, all the kebabs, has-has, fish and combination platters are delicious and easy to share, especially good when you’ve ordered an array of appetizers. The staff is friendly and personable…as are the other patrons in the restaurant which makes it both a fun and delicious dinning experience. I always feel at home at Dayinin Yeri, and I’ve never been to Turkey.“
“This place has really stepped up their game. It went downhill at some point in time but recently they have really gotten better. I went yesterday and the food tastes much better and the environment is amazing now. Definitely time to start going again.“
“Freshly made warm pita and flatbread from the oven! Nice dough and crust. Dishes were generous but under seasoned. Generous shwarma pieces on flatbread were overcooked. Rice with almond slivers from ouzi lamb was very fragrant and tasty. Comfortable seating. Light and airy. Attentive service. “
“It was difficult to snag a spot for dinner because they are always booked. I don’t know if walk-ins are welcomed, but I used the OpenTable notification to get my table for the evening.I liked the food A LOT. Of course, it’s nice to have an unlimited supply of entrees and pitas. The portion of the main course is not very big, but you will probably be full from eating all that hummus and baba ganoush stuff.“
“Outstanding in every respect, especially with Ross helping make our experience exceptional. Sit inside the main restaurant if possible for the best vibe, and sitting at the counter is great. Food selection is great and we appreciate the small dishes for sharing - though one Ferna each please. Drinks are also good…maybe too good…the Tyre is a favorite. Enjoy!“
“I grabbed dinner here and it did not disappoint. This was a cute and cozy spot just a few steps from the L train. For cocktails, I started with the Spicy Mezcal Marg. It wasn't my favorite, as I expected it to be spicier, since Szechuan peppercorn and Calabrian chili were some of the ingredients used. My next drink was the Hugo Spritz, which was amazing!! It made up for the first drink: it was refreshing and sweet (but not too sweet). For apps, we had the Rye Pita and hummus. Now let me just say, I am not a hummus girlie, but the hummus here was so flavorful and smooth. It wasn't gritty as I have experienced in the past. It definitely paired well with the pita. The star of the show was the Lahmajun, which is sort of like a pizza (without cheese) with lamb. I was pleasantly surprised. The lamb, the herbs & spices were just so delicious. Our server told us to dip it in the hummus and I had no regrets. We also had the braised chicken thigh, which felt very much like comfort food. The chicken was seasoned generously and cooked to perfection. We also had the lamb meatballs, which were so tender. The pairing with pomegranate really brought the flavors out. Overall, I definitely unlocked some new tastebuds here lol. I would return again for the Lahmajun alone! Service was exceptional as well :)“
“Really enyjoyed the mixed grill and hummus, and the sauces they brought in these cute, little bottles to accompany the pita were really tasty. I liked the gooey, thick Lebanese dumplings as well, I wish they weren’t drowned in yoghurt too. Service was fast, prices good. Solid place, but the tables are too small for those big plates.“
“I have eaten alot of falafel, shawarma, and other sorts of middle eastern cuisine. This is THE BEST falafel ive had in my life. Literally everything here was great. I had the baklava aswell, it was also the best I've ever had. This is a must visit for anyone in town“
“Very authentic, homemade style Yemeni dishes with fresh ingredients and a variety of choices. The flavours are very close to the original Yemeni food. What I loved the most is the out of the clay oven bread with the hot dipping sauce, EXCEPTIONAL! There is a little room for improvement with the service, they were generous and professional but understaffed for a busy restaurant. I recommend lamb hanith and chicken kabse dishesKid-friendliness: There are several meals suitable for the children“
“All in all I had a really enjoyable time here. We ordered a few different dishes all which were beautifully presented and had good flavor although I felt some could have used a bit more acidity. I loved the market salad, the hummus, the cauliflower and the salmon. The branzino and prawns weren’t as fresh and the branzino was a little overcooked. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us which I really appreciated.“
“Drawing its roots in the noble tradition of Yemeni coffee, this coffee house first serves fabulous beverages: especially taste the Sanaani, cardamom coffee ($10 for a pot of sharing coffee), or a classic "pour-over" ( $8 for the large model) to appreciate a beautiful expression coming from high-class Arabica coffee beans, processed with respect for the product. The typical pastries, Khaliat Alnahl and Sabaya, or even the coconut Basboassa are really all very tasty. Delicious !“
“loved the food be sure to make reservations since the line gets long for waitlist i tried to make a review earlier but yelp prevented me so i lost the pics saved to the drafts. personally feel we should be able to post food reviews regardless anyways i got the yogurt marinated lamb with a bed of rice for 2 people but in reality it was for 4 ppl huge portions and i loved it ambiance is nice can get crowded since the min sometimes waits inside and they need a better system. overall i'll come back here really good eats“
“Come here with friends, come here on a date, come here with whoever or by yourself! You're bound to have a good time! I’m getting excited thinking about the next time I’ll go and it’s only been a few days.Literally, everything was perfection from the drinks, to the food, to the service, to the music. I would ask for extra hummus for the chicken Shawarma. It’ll also go well with the lamb chops!Vegetarian options: A lot of the appetizers are vegetarianDietary restrictions: Gluten, free options“
“Lovely spot, came for brunch on my birthday. Same great food and great service as always, but I was surprised to find the Yemenite Pancake renamed (which is the best thing on the menu).I always thought they were cool for putting aside differences and shouting out their southern neighbors… I mean, Yemenis food is delicious.“
“Always fantastic. Best food, best service. Gazala is so kind, always smiling, always there to make sure everything is running smoothly and customers are happy. And the food is Devine. Better than anywhere in the world. See you next weekend for the best brunch in town!“
“Easily one of my favorite spots for Middle Eastern eats in the city -- every single thing we had here was so delicious. The ambiance was really lovely and the servers are great at recommending dishes. This restaurant is perfect to share dishes family-style. The Labneh here is so special, truly one of my favorite I've eaten. I cannot recommend it enough, am definitely coming back soon.“
“As expected, Solomonov delivers with K'Far Bakery in Williamsburg. Having been to the original Philadelphia outpost of K'Far, this one manages to succeed and even improve past the original. Huge, well lit, expansive space seamlessly merges Huxton lobby with K'Far Bakery space, with the restaurant group's branding prominent, punchy, and on point just as you would expect! The best way to brunch here seems to be with a group, and sharing to be able to try everything! The pistachio sticky bun was a pistachio lovers dream. The lemon cheesecake babka was a match made in heaven, soft warm, fluffy, and filled with unctuous lemony deliciousness. The almond challah Danish, another winner. The borekas with their delicious fillings, the hummus bowls, the arayes...all score top marks. The yemeni latte was delicious. Solomonov brought Israeli cuisine to the US and consistently shows a masterful hand in guiding its understanding by the American public with these delicious and approachable flavorful dishes! Can't miss this brunch spot, nor Laser Wolf!“
“A-mazing!! Tiny little hole in the wall Mediterran lunch spot. Only six tables and the chef was on his own that day. No servers or cleanup staff that I could see. He did it all! But Best was the Food!! Tasty and Huge, we had falafel, wraps in handmade thin bread. I ordered the Vegan sandwich, which included roasted eggplant, and cauliflower, hummus, lettuce tomatoes, and french fries! It was warm with a juice or gravy of some sort. It was delicious, if messy.! I look forward to my next visit.“
“So, as you can see, the food is very delicious ? ?Plates are empty and I forgot to take a picture. But besides food, the service is excellent ?? I can’t say more.Simply excellent ??Bartenders are really attentive to a customers, they really satisfied me, and I am picky and strict, and they cute. ? So very well done ??I will definitely and highly recommend this place. Yes. Thank you ?“
“Zaffron Bloom in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, is a delightful addition to the culinary scene, offering a fusion of Modern Persian Cuisine with Middle-terranean influence. Helmed by Chef Shahin, whose years of catering experience have culminated in the realization of her dream restaurant, Zaffron Bloom promises a unique dining experience. The restaurant's namesake spice, saffron, is aptly celebrated for its rich history, cultural significance, and exquisite flavor profile.During our lunch visit, we were treated to a delicious meal that surpassed our expectations. The service was impeccable, exceeding the standard. Our decision to dine at Zaffron Bloom was influenced by a friend's glowing recommendation, and we're thrilled to have discovered this gem. Zaffron Bloom truly embodies the essence of "the spice of life" with its innovative approach to traditional Persian cuisine. Deliciousness!! To all Yelpers.... Guys we have to support small local business. It's more important than you can imagine especially during these times. Give them a try, we're sure you'll enjoy it. Be on the lookout... a little insider info, they'll soon be opening a market adjacent to Zaffron. Good luck with all and future ventures. @vinopotato.“
“Had lunch here on a rainy day with my mother. Not my first time at the restaurant and my mothers first time having Mediterranean cuisine. I enjoyed it just as much as previously , the food and service does not disappoint. The chicken soup , haloumi salad, mezze plate and the grill plate made me feel happy. Meat was perfectly cooked , soft and just the perfect amount of sides. The portions are big and definitely worth the price. Highly recommend this restaurant. Oooh, and the pistachio pizza with the spicy honey - it deserves a separate review. Loved every minute of my lunch.“
“I know this place just opened, but I extremely highly recommend. A few of my friends came to eat here and so I decided to give it a try. Walking in, I was surprised how there was literally no one there but a ton of workers which I guess was great for me as they were super attentive. I was a bit surprised by the prices were pretty high for something that was supposed to be take-out, but the minute they start making the shawarma, I knew why it was more expensive. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma platter and it was delicious! Perhaps one of the best shawarmas I've had in the city. First of all, they gave us a platter just for all the toppings, did I mention that they are unlimited, that they had. Sometimes the toppings don't have that much flavor, but each one was very complex and flavorful. The chopped salad was light and fresh which balanced out the finely chopped pickles which added a sour taste. The red cabbage slaw which was slightly savory and slightly sour balanced out the onions that had a slight charred on it. I was so delighted by all the different toppings, which is where I think the place definitely shines. The chicken itself was okay, tender but not crazier than normal. Overall, I had an amazing experience and especially with the portion sizes, the platter could easily feed a family of 4 with additional leftovers. I think it will take me at least 6-7 meals before eating it all but I did add some of my own rice to counteract the bounty of flavors. I will say that they don't automatically give you the rice or the fries so big reminder to ask them for that when you come.“
“I had dinner at Lashevet restaurant last week. The food was outstanding! I had octopus for an appetizer and salmon for a main course. It was delicious ! The humus was blended with beats and was absolutely delicious! I have never tried anything like that before! I had Basbousa St Germain cake for desert. It was to die for! And then they gave me tea with ginger, lime, mint and honey. I had an incredible evening and delicious dinner! The ambiance in the restaurant was very relaxing after a hard day at work. I will definitely be back and this time for both dinner and breakfast that I hear has incredible deserts.“
“Great beef chapli kebabs! I went with the platter, definitely recommend. Not a fan of them pouring the sauces on top of the kebabs and rice so I suggest getting those on the side. Also, heads up, their chicken shawarma is ginormous! Great stuff for sure.“
“Exceptional dining experience! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely divine. Every dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavor and presented beautifully. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients truly set this restaurant apart. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience!“
“Absolutely incredible meal & service here. Everything we had was delicious. The warm bread to the wine to the hummus to the labneh to the tabouleh- we had the abdaneh chicken (per suggestion & highly recommended!) … my list goes on! Mustafa & staff were just lovely. Try it out :) homey vibe & fabulous!“
“The beautiful, intimate atmosphere and absolutely top notch comfort food would be worth it alone - BUT the service was also awesome. After we were graciously seated without a reservation (try to book ahead because you really won't want to miss this place), the staff was so kind, friendly, and attentive. Absolutely everything we had was wonderful but the knafeh actually brought a tear to my eye. ❤️ Absolutely would recommend 5 out of 5 stars.“
“Tiny inside but a nice (& still warm) enclosed outdoor space. We waited a few minutes to get a table away from the door.I liked the variety of the mezza plate offerings including some not normally seen on USA menus. Some were good but could use more spice (Nivik, Avocado) and others not so much (roasted cauliflower was a disappointment and served cold). The Citrus Chicken soup was delicious although there were no chickpeas or cilantro or caramelized onions that I noticed. For some reason it took 3 reminders to get it (did they run out and start from scratch?).Falafel plate was good, not great. Lamb in the kebab was bland. Don’t bother ordering.Expensive for what you get.“
“Visited here on a nice rainy day and my meal was good. I got the Haloomi eggs with stewed tomatoes and tea. The eggs weren’t what I expected, but that might’ve been my oopsie. My server was nice and the service was pretty quick. I would come back.“
“I was delightfully surprised at how. much I enjoyed this restaurant. Went with a friend who, like me, loves Meditteranean cooking. Having traveled to different countries in Mediterranean, I learned it's more about the "farm to table" concept in preparation. You can appreciate the natural flavors of the ingredients when they come together. Well, Lo and Behold, the food at Bustan was delicious. Simply delicious. We had hummus and the portion was small and we wanted more. But instead of ordering a second, we went with Israeli Salad and then the branzino in a dish called Moroccan Fish. Yum yum. Their bread, the taboon bread, was delicious. We each couldn't get enough of the sauce in the Moroccan fish dish. Service was fantastic. Our waiter, Leonardo, knew the menu and was helpful. We weren't planning on getting desserts but then with his prodding, we got the Malabi and the halvah with ice cream. Both were so satisfying. I would definitely go back. Ambiance was lovely... very easy on the eyes. Oh I need to mention my cocktail, the spicy smoky margarita with an adjustment to go easy on the sugar was made to perfection. You won't be disappointed.“
“Been coming here for the past month since I moved back to the neighborhood. First time there tested out the hummus, spectacular. 2nd time the shwarma and malawach with a side of spicy harissa - outstanding. This will be my go-to for Fort Greene Israeli food.“
“Alright! Where do i begin?! There were 4 people behind the counter and when i walked in, all four greeted me. The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. He asked me if id like any suggestions and we landed on the chicken platter with spicy chickpeas rice and cole slaw. Everything about this bowl was immaculate. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. I also ordered their fries because why not!The portion size was generous but not overbearing. They had the mexican coke glass bottles which was a great choice to wash the food down with. I got the brown to top it all off and it was amazing. Chipotle, Qdoba, Halal Guys even have nothing on Juicy Platters. I definitely will be coming back with the family!“
“This is a halal Algerian spot with very authentic food. They have sandwiches and platters and some flavorful side dishes. I had the merguez sandwich and chicken sandwich, and a couple side dishes. The Merguez was amazing, very delicious sausage type dish in a hero roll with fries inside. There's not a lot of seating space so it's a great takeout spot.“
“Outstanding! Super comfort-chic vibe and great ambiance all around. Management, servers, et all were A plus. Passover pre fixe and A la carte were just perfect. Matzah hall soup and gefilte fish app platter were superb! A definite go to again!“
“The value of this place is terrific. I got a big bowl of goodies for $11. Fresh ingredients, really tasty, and they really pounded in there so you feel like you're getting a lot of food. I got five dollar baklava. Which was tasty, and a nice treat to myself but that brought it up to $18 total. I tried a lot of new things in my mix bowl. I love the sweet potatoes. The sauces were very interesting. Really fast and no one was in line. Nice staff.“
“Persepolis has been in our neighborhood for years but we never got there. It's a spacious but intimate-feeling restaurant with very attentive, friendly service and excellent (and abundant!) food. Also a range of very good variations on the mojito! The eggplant appetizers and, of course, kebabs are excellent. Very nice decor.“
“Best food we ate in NYC, especially because we can't get it in San Francisco. The $10 price point makes it even more delicious and worth the hour wait in line. Portions are perfect for post-show munchies and you can tell the meat is so fresh. Always ask for extra white sauce!“
“Love this place so much and happy to see them expanding! My go-to are their mix shawarma and chicken shawarma plate - good portion, very flavorful, but never leave you feeling food coma as weekday lunch. I also recommend their lentil soup and wrap! their free cinnamon tea is always a plus:)“
“Went here on a whim when our original plans fell through and we had an amazing experience. The food was all so good everything from the salad and pita to the bbq fish and taojine. Definitely felt more local. Not packed but a good amount of people. A bit pricy but that's seafood for you. Will definitely be going back.“
“Melanie's team from Kubeh did the most amazing, professional job catering our French department admission's day event at La Maison Francaise. We are so grateful for her delicious food, gorgeous presentation, prompt coordination, flexibility and patience! Thank you!!“
“Seasoned with herbs and aromatics. Not overly seasoned, good grade of meat, rice is bit sticky but great flavor. The bread was made in house, crispy on the outside fluffy and chewy on the inside. Overall a great place to get your dose of Turkish food. Ordered through Ubereats“
“This place is cozy and has an amazing variety of Mediterranean cuisine. Excellent service! The pita is perfectly soft and goes very well with their homemade hummus and baba ganoush. Every dish is authentic and delicious. From their fresh mint lemonade to their dessert, everything was wonderful. I hope they stay around for a long time because we’ll be eating here more often. Thank you!“
“East Village stroll on a warm Sunday in March. Hadn't had schwarma in a long time and saw someone post about it on IG. Had the schwarma west pita with chicken, amba, tahina, harissa. So flavorful, fresh ingredients and packed ... pita didn't fall apart. Love that they mix all of the ingredients together so you don't get layered bites. I took half home and unless there is extra chicken hiding on the bottom, I felt like it could have used more. $15 ($16.34 with tax). Super friendly service. Would recommend and look forward to trying the falafel next time.“
“If you’re in the area, this is definitely one of your best options for middle-eastern cuisine. If you’re like me, picky about your meat, then just know their meat here is clean and not smelly. Plus, their dishes are authentic, and it does taste like your own mama cooked it ! Definitely worth the try with some friends/family!“
“We’ve had Middle Eastern/Lebanese food in Paris, San Francisco, Montreal, Miami, London and other cities and this place probably takes 1st place out of all of them. Delicious food most importantly but also great service and ambience. Falafels are top notch, so is the hummus.“
“I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because I was in town on business. The atmosphere was very inviting. My server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and very helpful in many recommendations. I ended up with the lunch special kebab. It came with the most delightful salad featuring best flavors! The main course was a generous portion of chicken, rice, and another salad. I would definitely make it a point to visit here again!“
“Got to be the most flavourful chicken doner I ever had and I am saying this after exploring food through 20+ countries. I tried their doner at 11 in the morning and it was a burst of flavours in my mouth. Great hospitality as they helped me charge my phone as I finish my meal. This review is 5 months late as I visited them in September 2023 but I still remember their taste of doner.“
“I just finished dining here for the 2nd time and my experience was amazing.I had The Lamb Shish & Chicken Adana combination platter, the meats were well done and the flavor was on point. Our waiter Salih suggested we try the Turkish Coffee and it did not disappoint, he made our experience 100% better.“
