The food was really delicious and huge portions…we sat outside on top of the basement access/storm doors.
Buuuuuut….As soon as we sat down a roach was on the table. As the food came out, more and more and more roaches were on the table and the wall. We told the waiter and he just shrugged his shoulders and literally didn’t say a word.
I get it, there are roaches in every restaurant in NYC, but all over our table.
Decided wasn’t worth causing a stink...read full review
We really enjoyed our experience at Gazala's. Very reasonable prices for Manhattan. Excellent food. Very friendly and professional staff. Even the pickiest members of our party enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
It's the best Hummus, Labane, Babaganosh

Gazala’s Mediterranean Restaurant offers excellent food and customer service in a clean and inviting setting, serving authentic Druze cuisine from Israel. The food is fantastic, with dishes like lentil soup, shakshouka, boureka, and hummus as good as you’ll find in the Middle East. The generous portions burst with flavor, and the lunch special is an excellent value. The large menu is great for sharing a variety of items. Service is generally great, though some found it inattentive or slow. The restaurant is quaint and classy, a Hell’s Kitchen gem, with no ambient music for quiet conversation. The interior could use a refresh, but the food is absolutely delicious. End the meal with house-made baklava. Prices are fair, and it’s busy with groups enjoying a casual night out.
