“I was a seeking a more elevated Chinese food experience. My last few fast food Chinese fast food experiences at other locations were scary. I believe I got exactly what I was looking for. The chicken pepper, onion, w/black bean sauce was skillfully prepared with good quality chicken and not the typical freeze dried trash, and the dish was savory and delicious. The wonton soup was also notable and I enjoyed the thin delicate tasty wontons. Even the rice was clearly higher quality. The modestly higher price was absolutely worth it to me for the quality of this Chinese food and I look forward to returning..“

“We ordered a pretty large takeout order and the food was incredible! My Dominican and Mexican parents can be really picky so we were really nervous. They loved the Moro and yucca in particular. All the meats were really good and our favorite was the pork and ropa vieja. The only thing (not well pictured) we weren’t a fan of was the tamale but one thing out of so much hardly bothered us. Stuffed avocados with shrimp ceviche will be something I always remember. Delivered with care and I’m sure we will order in the future again.“

This place is nowhere near authentic Cuban cuisine — not even if it were sitting right next to Havana. What they call Ropa Vieja is basically just beef stew. There’s absolutely no understanding of Cuban culture, flavors, or hospitality, which makes sense considering they are not Cuban.

My husband and I visit here all the time and go for the excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Oh.. and can't forget the music on Fridays and Saturdays 🎵. I have not seen my sister so happy in such a long long time after the death of our mom. She was smiling ear to ear and enjoying the whole atmosphere. Thank you so much for making our 5th-anniversary dinner yesterday truly wonderful! We started with our favorites—the spicy yellowfin tuna on tostones and the coconut shrimp—and both were incredible. For dinner, the creamy chicken and Cowboy ribeye were absolutely delicious.

Since you first opened, we’ve loved visiting for the romantic atmosphere and great music. We are so grateful to Andres, Nelson, and your wonderful new bartender Bryan. Gillian, you do a fantastic job hiring such a professional and welcoming team. Whether we dine in or order out, the quality is always perfect. Thank you for another memorable celebration!

“This was my first visit here. (I previously have had delivery on a couple of occasions and the food was very good.) Despite being a little early for our reservations and the place being very busy, we were seated immediately at the outdoor table I had requested in the reservations. The cocktails didn't take that long to be brought and were very good. The fried calamari appetizer (tapas) was outstanding- each piece perfectly crispy and not one piece was chewy. The sweet chili sauce worked very well with a mild heat in the middle of the tongue surrounded by sweetness. My wife enjoyed the jamon croquettas despite it lacking any sort of aioli or dipping sauce. My main dish of the deep fried Red Snapper was perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside and all around tasty. My wife enjoyed her fired cheese mofongo. Dessert of guava cheesecake and also the flan were good as well. Overall, service was good and the maitre d' walks around checking in on guests which is a nice touch. Overall, I thought the prices were very reasonable and you get nice size portions making it a good value. Just be aware that inside is fairly large and can get loud. Their windows are thick and outside you only really hear it when the door opens. Considering we live across the street and stare at the place from our windows, we'll be back, likely often.“

“A big shout out to my best latin place in Hoboken: Chango Kitchen. Traditional yummy latin dishes. Our faves are churrasco con chimichurri (skirt steakgrilled) and ropa vieja (shredded beef). My kids loved "alfajores with dulce de leche", "tres leches" and hot chocolate with when it's cold outside. Service is warm and friendly. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. I tried fish and also lunch specials twice out three times being there, I recommend fish and cow tail. It wasn't just a sandwich, it was a moment. The kind that makes you close your eyes and just appreciate it. I will go out on a limb and say this is the best Cubano in New Jersey don't sleep on it.
The flavors throughout felt authentic and lovingly made, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves to be packed every night.
