“A big shout out to my best latin place in Hoboken: Chango Kitchen. Traditional yummy latin dishes. Our faves are churrasco con chimichurri (skirt steakgrilled) and ropa vieja (shredded beef). My kids loved "alfajores with dulce de leche", "tres leches" and hot chocolate with when it's cold outside. Service is warm and friendly. We can visit the place multiple times and never get tired. #supportlocal“

“I'm not usually one to dish out five star reviews like candy, but I'm beyond thoroughly impressed. It was genuinely the best food I've ever tasted. I didn't know that was a thing I would say. I sound... Extremely pretentious right now, but it's a luxurious and excellent place to eat that takes you surprisingly few dollars. (My dad got the Arroz con Pollo de la Charrera, and I got the «El Poquito de Todo», we both got deserts, and we didn't crack 50 bucks.)

Our server Cristian was excellent, he was very attentive and not afraid to talk to us!

We're certainly not from the area. Me and my father are going on a roadtrip from Tennessee (we drove up to NYC in 1.5 days!!) to Vermont, to use every single day of my Fall Break. So, considering that, it's unfair for me to recommend it over other places here. I'll get around that by recommending it over every place this side of the Mississippi!

Seriously. You aren't gonna regret eating here. The mains are amazing, extremely flavorful and well-seasoned without being overly strong. The plantains, especially, are literally good enough to make you cry. The pastel de tres leches is also nothing short of phenomenal. I'm not a drinker, but they had a very extensive collection of high-branded wines and a lovely looking bar.

Any dish you try here will change your life. Go on! Try it!“

“Service was good in the beginning. Then after we were served the waiter didn't come back. We had to ask someone else for another drink. Then we had to wait for our check, at least 20 mins in between both drinks n check. Then the service charge was added which would be ok if the service was great. Just not happy with the service that's all! Every else was fine.“

“I ate at this restaurant during my Christmas vacation visit to New York. It is fantastic! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is so tasty. It was better than the big advertised restaurants. If you want a real delicious meal and some great music while you eat, go to this place. It's a hidden gem.“

“I don’t want to sht on this place too much cause it’s one of the few spots you can get a decent rice and beans w tostones but as far as being “authentic” it is not. I’m from Miami I would know. Pastelitos are puff pastry and they should not be selling empanadas at all, it’s not Cuban food at all. Please stop it with the plantain chips too. Like if it’s Colombians/peruvians or whatever else in the back don’t call the spot authentic Cuban. Now they adding salchipapa to the menu. The tostada is on point though.“

I had some great cocktails with a nice twist as well shrimp wontons that were amazing. I had the lobster butter noodles 🍜 and they were fantastic with steamed broccoli’s. I have entertained for 30 years and this place is great. Order a cocktail, relax and enjoy your meal.“

“I came to this restaurant for the first time on Saturday, and I completely fell in love with the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was so good that I went back again on Sunday brought my mother-in-law with me, and now today, Tuesday, I’m going back again — that’s how amazing it is.
I usually don’t like to only write reviews when something is bad, so I had to make sure I wrote one for this place because they truly deserve it. The food, the flavor, and the overall experience were just incredible.

“Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

I went on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking but I am sure it would be more difficult on a weekday until after 6pm when street parking becomes available. The burger and fries very solid, the el mensajero drink was excellent, I had some toast with ricotta, honey and almonds that was really good as well. Not a fan of the yuca fries they were a bit on the dry side but its always a hit or miss when it comes to Yuca / Yuca fries. “Hace poco hice un pedido para un evento social familiar por un valor de $540 pero decidí pagar con mi tarjeta de crédito, obviamente me cobran el impuesto tax 6.625% de venta, sin embargo, tuvieron el descaro de cobrarme un 2.9% adicional por el uso de la tarjeta de crédito. Cuando les pregunté, me dijeron que había un cajero (ATM) automático que podía usar, por lo tanto si lo pagaría en efectivo y solo pagaría $ 540. Parece obvio que están tratando de estafar el impuesto sobre las ventas del gobierno. en cualquier caso, la comida no era tan buena y nunca volveré a ellos. “This place is one of the best places to have a healthy lunch in West New York. I am amazed that it doesn't have any review yet. I tried fish and also lunch specials twice out three times being there, I recommend fish and cow tail. A nice girl works there having very helpful attitude toward customers (unfortunately I don't remember her name but you will find her at lunch). You might have a little bit of problem communicating in english, but all of the times that I had lunch there, they prepared exactly what I meant. A meal size was more than enough for me and I am not skinny, unhealthy or anything. Did I mention the price? it is worth every penny.“

As a vegetarian I got served a meal that had meat in it. It was a large order so I don't fully fault them. I'm sure if I had ordered on my own they would have said something.
