50 Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Hoboken

“This is my second time to Dear Maud when visiting Hoboken. Both times I would say the dining room is very loud. The walls are made of brick, I believe and so nothing insulates the sound. The service in the bar was quick, but slightly impersonal. No one was unfriendly which is good, but it was about turnover. The happy hour menu is generous. I would definitely order the $7 pizza every time. The Manhattan I ordered off- menu was delicious. The lychee martini was on the sweeter side, but it was good. The short rib fried rice was delicious but I was not a fan of the sweet teriyaki sauce drizzled on top. Beware of the red peppers on top because those are spicy. The steak tips were really good and tender. I would go here next time only if I don’t want to walk very far from where I’m staying and if I want some decent drinks. It’s pretty hard to hold a conversation in this restaurant unless you’re speaking louder than you normally would. Great location though.“

“My husband and I come here a few times a year. Our reservation is always under Thomas. I’ve never reviewed it but tonight I wanted to make sure I did. We normally get seated in the middle and tonight we got a corner table in the back inside. We loved it! Every time we go we have had a different person assisting us but I have to say they do a wonderful job hiring great friendly people. I never get or ask the hosts name as they also assist with drinks and serving people. And the music on Friday and Saturday is always great, we especially love when Sly is there! Honestly they are friendly, the food is flavorful, and we always enjoy the atmosphere. We are never rushed which is a big thing for me. The pics are from my visit tonight and previous visits. P.s. we came for my husband birthday and I absolutely adore the way they sing happy birthday.“

However, not only was I was received with excitement and optimist but was also given the best Mexican food out of my life. This is my new favorite spot in the area. “A big shout out to my best latin place in Hoboken: Chango Kitchen. Traditional yummy latin dishes. Our faves are churrasco con chimichurri (skirt steakgrilled) and ropa vieja (shredded beef). My kids loved "alfajores with dulce de leche", "tres leches" and hot chocolate with when it's cold outside. Service is warm and friendly. We can visit the place multiple times and never get tired. #supportlocal“

“A very nice place to check out if you’re into mediterranean cuisine! Excellent vegetarian options and delicious food. But if you’re someone who enjoys good service like me then this is not the place. after being sat down for 15 mins the server gave the menu. After reminding 3 times, we finally got water which was bottled and we were not told about I assumed they would bring tap water and on top of that they will randomly put 15% or 18% tip irrespective of party size. Waiting for menu for 15 mins and then waiting for water not sure what kind of service one is getting and to top it off getting the drinks ordered post meal! Again if you’re a foody then this a good place to try but not for the service.“

“Very intimate vibes. I took my partner for his birthday. We ordered a bottle of wine, the wild boar ragu and cacio e Pepe. My partner didn’t enjoy his cacio e pepe as much. I loved the wild boar ragu, the flavor was on point. Arancini were pretty good too. Overall we had a good time.“

“Was visiting Hoboken and looking for a good lunch spot close to Steven's University and came across Karma Kafe. Reviews were good and there were lots of people who took the time to rave so figured give it a shot. As always, reviews don't lie and ended up having a great lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon without an issue and we were lucky. Pretty sure for future visits, would lock in a reservation to be on the safe side. Upon being seated, a serving of Papadum (Thin & crispy lentil flat bread) was served with tasty accompaniments was the perfect start as we scoured the menu. We started with The Veggie Sampler which was compromised of a Veggie samosa ( Stuffed crispy triangle pastry stufffed with potatoes and peas), Veggie Pakoras (Crisp veggies lightly battered in a chick pea flour and seasoning mix) and a Veggie Tikkis (Lightly breaded veggie cutlets seasoned with herbs and spices, served with mango chutney.) The serving size was decent and realized if we ate everything on the plate than we would be full and would have no room for the main course. The appatizers were delicious and a great way to prepare for lunch. Indian Food is usually always a hit for us due to the large vegertain options that are available to her as well as the non vegetarian options for me. Plenty of great choices to pick from making the decision difficult. I ordered Chicken Vindaloo (Chicken and potatoes in a spicy vindaloo sauce) When ordering, the waiter ensured I was ready for the heat from spice ranking it a 10 of 10. Will admit I love hot foods, and was apprehensive with his warnings but pushed forward. While the food was definitely spicey, not sure if I would rank as a 10 of 10 being some Indian dishes have been insanely hot. All in all, the meal was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter ordered the Paneer Kashmiri (Cheese cubes and veggies in a mild saffron korma sauce) and was thoroughly satisfied. Both entrees were served with Basmati Rice and Dal. While not needed , we also order Garlic Nan which was incredibly delicious. The Nan was even better when dipped in the savory sauces that our meal came in. As you can imagine, there was so much food that we both took some home that made for another meal. Overall, we were both super satisfied and left stuffed. Definitely a great location that we plan to return to. The location was perfect and was a short walk from Stevens. The food quality was good, the service was great, and I found the value to be exceptional for its location.“

“Around the Jersey City and Hoboken area, this is one of the few places I would go to eat or even get a burger. Why spend $15 or $22 for food you can make yourself that better and cheaper, but they are consistently great, especially with quality draft beer selection.
I usually ALWAYS get the bacon jam delight burger. However, 50% mondays where most of the menu, including burgers and some beers. My usual combo on Mondays is the bacon jam delight burgers, sausage combo for a polish kielbasa and knockwurst sausage with a Warsteiner Dunkel (dark lager), right after the gym. “My wife and I have been going to Leo’s since we started dating in 1985. It’s our favorite place to eat. Went today for our 38th Wedding anniversary and it was just as good as it was in 1985. Food has not changed. Grace and Linda are great and we felt right at home. I remember Leo like it was yesterday when my parents would take me there in the 70’s and 80’s. We live in Delaware now but visited NJ this week and fought the traffic to make sure we visited Leo’s.“
