“Walked in feeling like total tourist, but the staff behind the counter were really great about running down the menu options. Ended up with the Italian which was a smash hit. The fresh mozzarella is legit. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic deli experience.“
“First time, liked it a lot. Many different sandwich choices, plus the usually italian deli standards. They are known for there mozz. And, well it was amazing. Had a fresh mozz and prosciutto. Yum. Will stop back again when I am in the area. Worth checking out. Street parking is the only negative, but all places in this area are, so it's all good. A few visits later and still the best.“
“Some of the best sandwiches in town. There is a board near the deli area with some listed suggestions, but they’ll basically put whatever you want in a sandwich. There are some interesting pantry style items here, but I wish there was more of this available.Wheelchair accessibility: Sloped entrance to get in. A bit tight with the door set up, but still manageable.“
“Saturday Brunch ❤️ what more can you ask for. We did not have a reservation but we were able to get an outdoor table for 2. I ordered the French toast and bacon Benedict. The perfect mix of sweet and savory. The brioche French toast had a yummy buttery coconut garnish. My husband got the classic smoked salmon Benedict and both came with a side of home potatoes.“
“Great Friday night. Put your name it early because you will wait 2 hours. We did not get sat until 10pm, eating close to 11 which is too late for me but so so worth it. It’s a small cozy space with great staff and byob. We ordered stuffed longhots- literally stuffed. Bruschetta also solid. The mushroom truffle pasta which is probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Lastly the spicy squid and spaghetti which was good flavor but a little dry. Finish off with the Nutella calzone and be prepared to have to go boxes.“
“Have eaten here a few times and most recently had my husband’s birthday party with 13 friends at CBG. The staff is incredibly nice and very attentive/accommodating. The capellini with vodka sauce, chicken cutlet, and fresh mozzarella is out of this world, along with everything else we’ve tried there!“
“I was in Hoboken visiting some friends and I stopped by Mario’s on a whim. I left feeling “warm and fuzzy” because it felt like I had just stumbled upon the neighborhood’s best kept secret. The staff treats everyone like family. I actually forgot some personal items there and the guys behind the counter were so kind to find and hold on to them for me until I could come back (thank you!).We tried the Stromboli and several kinds of pizza. I really liked the plain cheese! Wish I lived in Hoboken so I could make this my go-to pizza place.“
“It was so busy, that I knew it was going to be good and it was fantastic! Service was great, waiter was attentive despite it being packed, The food was fantastic, we got pizza and pasta dishes. Everything was priced decently too. Definitely recommend!“
“Omg!! Five out of five for me!!! This was my first time visiting and I was completely blown away with the food. We started with the Tuna Tartare (delish) I had the GV Chicken (delish) my friend had the Parmesan Crusted Bass he said it was delicious and we ended with the delicious ? dessert Tiramisu. The atmosphere was a lil loud for my taste but it is a very nice cozy place….the server could have been a lil more inviting but we can’t have everything lol!!! I will definitely be back soon“
“Apulia stands out as a cherished gem among Hoboken's Italian eateries. Unlike the usual suspects with their hefty portions and oversized pizzas, Apulia offers a more authentic and intimate experience. Their pizzas are reminiscent of those enjoyed by locals in Italy, while their pasta portions are perfectly satisfying. Twirling fresh-made spaghetti feels akin to a scene from "Eat, Pray, Love," evoking a sense of simple yet profound culinary delight. The staff exudes warmth and familiarity, greeting regulars with hugs and smiles. The manager's passion for Italian cuisine is palpable, reflected in his eagerness to share family recipes and craft special dishes that showcase his culinary talent. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with just the right touch of Italian flair—think Ferrari decor and nods to the Italian Grand Prix blended with a hint of Rolling Stone rock.Whether you're in the mood to groove to great music while indulging in ravoli or simply unwind with a classic Negroni or a fine Italian wine, Apulia has you covered. And if you happen to find yourself admiring the handsome bartenders, well, consider it an added bonus to an already delightful experience.“
“An iconic Italian restaurant in Hoboken. While unassuming on the outside, this Sinatra-dedicated restaurant serves authentic Italian food in a cozy environment.Their food is delicious; however, the prices are a little more expensive for the amount of food (I had the Sinatra Gamberi). Their wines are full of flavor and they provide full glasses. But I will say that the service is impeccable. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, full of heart, and for some of the locals, know them by name. While it is a small restaurant, reservations are not accepted, so be sure to get there early to get a seat.“
“Had Sunday brunch with a friend here. Did the Zeppoli Brunch which was a side of Zeppolis, followed by an app and an entree for $29 before tax and tip. I thought the food was delicious and a great value. Place has a good vibe and noise level is good such that you can carry conversation with your party. Would recommend for friends and dates.“
“As the second brick oven pizzeria to open in Hoboken back in the day (not 100% sure how accurate this is, but I’m fairly certain it’s about 15 or so years ago), people were excited. A pizza fanatic, I was veeery excited.I’ve been ordering in/ordering pickup from Napoli’s since and it is just as good, if not better today than it was back then. If you haven’t had it and are a fan of brick oven, don’t turn a blind eye here. The Brick - another quick service brick oven spot oddly resides right next door - is acceptable, only if Napoli’s is out of any particular specialty slice you’re craving (side note: Napoli’s CBR game is Jay-Z, whereas The Brick’s is Nelly.) the mini meatballs are always a great lil’ side snack.Happy feasting!“
“What a great pizza place this was. We only grabbed a takeout on the way home from a fun day out but the restaurant really looked like a nice place to be and would have loved to have been able to eat in. The team took great care of creating a pizza for our family and were very accommodating and engaging. The pizza was excellent!! Really loved it!“
“Where do I begin …. This place is TRULY the hidden gem of Hoboken. We love the food here and adore the service and ambiance in the restaurant with the wood oven stove. We chose to have our wedding shower here (you get the whole place to yourself) and Giuseppe and Amy were kind, considerate ROCK stars. If you go, you have to get: the burrata, the vodka farfalle (or Penne Vodka pizza) the chicken parm, and the Caesar salad. EVERYTHING I’ve ever had here is amazing. Even the takeout food travels well enough to be fresh and delicious upon arrival.“
“I’ve lived in this town for the better half of a decade, and I inevitably get asked by weary travelers and vagabond tourists about “what’s the best pizza in Hoboken?” Well friends, you need not turn another corner on your cyber journey. The greatest Hoboken pizza rests at Johnny Pepperoni uptown. The 14 inch round pie (there’s also a square pie but I don’t dabble) is not the biggest pizza in town, but it’s thin and crispy, adequately cheesy and is also good if you endeavor to add pepperonis atop. There’s also good salads, serviceable wings and other appetizers like rice balls and burrata that are good. I’ve also heard the pasta is good but I come here for the round pie. It’s nice indoor/outdoor seating and pretty inexpensive for this area. Please note that it is BYOB!! Ain’t no jokin’, this is best za in ‘boken.“
“Took a train ride into Hoboken to walk around. Made a reservation here a couple days prior (must have a reservation and cash only). This was our first time at this establishment and it was superb. My dad had stuffed artichoke which he is still talking about. The linguine with clam sauce and lasagna special were outrageously good. The staff is pleasant, friendly and courteous. Will definitely be visiting again.“
“Food was great and the set up inside the restaurant was really nice. The spicy Paloma cocktail was delicious. The oysters are highly recommended. Spaghetti carbonara was my main dish and I thought it was delicious. The desserts tasted good we ended up getting two for the table.“
“We stayed at the end of August 2023 during a short holiday. Nicola gave us a wonderful welcome, with particular attention given to his Italian origins; Excellent!!! The food is average for the place but the effort exceeds expectations. Very good meat and “
“Favorite place for Italian coffee and pastries and there are SO many to choose from in Hoboken. This place reminds my Italian friends of their favorite cafe in Rome. The latte options are my preference, but the regular coffee is also delicious. I have never had the gelato myself, but my husband has and loves it.“
“Wonderful experience as always. Had my birthday dinner here last night and it did not disappoint! From the delicious appetizers, dinner and desert to the amazing drink selections. Service was perfect and the Valentine’s Day specials are a must try. Can’t wait to come back!“
“I’m really surprised that this restaurant is not busier because has a lot to offer.Location, location, location….I would say that’s a great choice for a date! Sweeping views of Manhattan and some of the best neopolitan pizza in the tri state area makes it for a win win situation. The Pizzaiolo is from Naples and he takes a great care in making a delicious pizza dough (long leavened so very light to digest) and choosing good ingredients. Plus he cooks every single pie to perfection.I haven’t tried other things on the menu but if you are craving Pizza and you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed.“
“I love this little deli so much and the two brothers who own it. I live next door so needless to say I am in there very regularly and the food is always delicious and fresh, they always ask how I am and I know they truly care about their customers.“
“Lived in Jersey my whole life and I’ve always passed this place just never went in. Me and boyfriend had to pee and were looking for a bathroom and a place to eat. Great space with booths, and fountain soda (the best soda to have if eating a slice obv) Anyways… being pizza connoisseurs we know what we are talking about. Very Solid slice. I haven’t had a slice like this since I was a kid. She was beautiful. I give it a solid 9. PLUS they have bendy straws. Will be coming back. BOYFRIEND rating - 8.5 also guy at the front desk is cool ?The Sauce was Saucing #greatsauce #goodeats“
“We were coming up from NC for NHL stadium series game on a Sunday morning. I had done some research prior to our trip looking for an "authentic" Italian deli near Metlife. I found Luca Brasi's was 6-7 miles out and made the decision to try it out. Never been to Hoboken, but have been to NJ. Knew what to expect getting around. We found the deli pretty easily and I was very happy I chose it. We were there around 11am. My son and I are deep into our Italian heritage and the atmosphere here was perfect to me. It was exactly what I wanted to experience. Vast menu. I had already read up and wanted to try something from the "Meet the Family" menu. I picked the "Fuggeda'boutit sub. Great choice! Great flavor and great look. My son got a chicken parm sub and told me it was one of the best he had ever had. Messy, but good. The young lady that waited on us was awesome. Very friendly. I asked about a t shirt and spoke with an older italian woman who spoke broken english. She was equally friendly. She pulled out a bag of t shirts for me and I gladly paid her $20 for it as a memento. $27 for our meals with fries added. Fair price, great atmosphere that I was looking for. Being a big mobster fan, this great deli checked every box for me. I would absolutely go back if I get to that area again. Well worth it in my opinion.Parking: We found a spot a few blocks away after a few laps around looking . We parked at a Dunkin Donuts nearby, bought a coffee and left our vehicle there . We then walked the three blocks to the deli. Worked for us.“
“I saw the pasta flights on Instagram and just had to try them! The pesto was in the top 3 best I have had, the vodka penne was creamy and the cacio e pepe was buttery and full of pepper! Our server was so helpful, funny and amazingly nice. Definitely would say our party had an amazing night.“
“They are the GOAT of Hoboken Hoagies. Their fresh made daily roast beef and mozzarella sandwich is unbeatable. I've been looking forward to a sandwich every time someone says Hoboken for over 30 years. My dad used to bring them home as a treat when we were kids. They are just as good as they ever were. My picky kids love it, too! ?I would have taken a photo, but the giant delicious sandwich didn't last long enough. “
