“This restaurant used to be located more further down on westchester ave. It was called Monte de oro (gold mountain). I used to go there when I was a kid to a teenager. Then, it closed down. Thank god it relocated more up westchester ave. Under the name of el pabellon de oro (the flag of gold) It still had the same waiters & owner so I knew the food would be the same(delicious). It is a Chinese Spanish fusion. My go to dish is the steak w/ shrimp fried rice & plantano maduros(sweet plantains). Staff is ok. I like that the inside has a fish tank. It also has a lobster tank where you pick your own lobster. They had this in the old restaurant. The environment is just ok. I really came for the delicious food!!!“
“Best Chinese food restaurant around! I've tried several Chinese food restaurants around the Bronx area, Manhattan "Heights", hands down this is the freshest and tastiest! They have the science to the perfect fried tostones, crispy deliciousness. Come and try and let me know what's up!“
“Love the Food & the person who Takes the orders is Pleasant, I live on Gunhill& been here a few times just for the food.. I had ~ Wings,General Tso chicken ,fried pork Dumplings ,egg fried rice in all the orders. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD!! I will return for sure.Parking: There’s a parking lot front in front. Also street parkingKid-friendliness: There’s space to sit & eatWheelchair accessibility: No steps. Which is great!“
“Food is always so good. I travel a hour just to come here and have a GREAT DELICIOUS MEAL. Their chicken wings are big and nice and flavorful. Their house special rice is to die for. Egg food young Soooo good…. Their rib tips are FIRE ? OMGOSH THE LIST GOES ON The staff are always so welcoming. I love this place definitely 10/10 recommend“
“Been coming here for atleast 30 years. But since the young lady left, which has been here for atleast 25 years. Not how it used to be. The only chinese food i eat is from them. Best to call and place order. They are always crowdedParking: Very narrow street. Always have to double park“
“My husband and I come here all the time, great customer service, cleanliness and food is superb, my husband always order the steamed beef and broccoli, I normally order the steamed vegetables with white rice and garlic sauce on the side. They never disappoint, will continue to come here.“
“As a New Yorker when someone suggests going out for Chinese you would normally assume, and rightfully so, that you'll end up ordering from a "hole in wall" fast food spot.Kai isn't that. It's a sit down place where you just enjoy your food in a peaceful atmosphere. The pricing was ok, but it was NYC so it was to be expected. The food however is worth the cost. Consider it something like take-out plus, Chinese food with a twist. And it is not just "Chinese" food, under the category of "Asian fusion" their menus are a little bit from the many color cultures of the East. Come for sushi, get some hot sake alongside it, with some wings and soup.It was a great place, relaxing, the music was tame and not in your face, and the staff seemed to have grown on us as time went by.Bring your family, or friends, or maybe just by yourself and have yourself some of that classic food we New York's associate as Asian.“
“I am from Brooklyn and had to be in the Bronx quickly ! I always heard the Bronx had better Chinese food than Brooklyn…Well let me tell you! Brooklyn don’t have no buffet with take out ranging from $7 -$13 depending on the container size and fill it with alllll you can….idk if I’ll be back because I truly avoid going to the Bronx butttt this Chinese food didn’t make it allll the way home ! I sat and ate some in my car! I got Crab in there , chicken broccoli, baked chicken, plantain , 2 type of rice a piece of sushi!! I was pleasantly impressed!!! So happy I got to try this ! The BRONX CHINESE IS BETTER THAN BROOKLYN & CHEAPER! And friendly staff !!!!Parking: Parking was rough I had to get the food quickly before I got a ticket because it’s on a main road and the ticket police was out there heavy!“
“My first time ordering from this location was a sesame combo and a spare ribs combo before the new year. The food was so delicious I forgot to take a picture of my food before eating. I will definitely be back. The restaurant is clean, the staff were very nice and the food was absolutely delicious and hot upon pick-up. You also don't have to worry about parking, infinite parking at this location.“
“I used to come here years ago when I lived in the area... Went back after about 8 years and man was the food still delicious. Still got stickey rip tips with bbq, the chicharron de pollo with the black garlic sauce is just great! Not to mention the pork fried rice and general tso's chicken was also very delicious.Thank you foohing for the great food.“
“I’ve literally grown up eating at this Chinese Restaurant, Love It! THEE BEST POPCORN CHICKEN IN THE WORLD. If Your a true New Yorkers you’ll know some of the best food ever comes from the ‘whole in a wall’ spot’s/places. Will always recommend here.Parking: We double park and hop out, what more can I say..“
“Lin's might be my new local go-to for pan-Asian cuisine in North Bronx! My takeout order was ready for pick up within minutes, the staff was friendly, and everything was packaged perfectly. The inside was clean and spacious when I stepped in with a nice, casual atmosphere when I stepped in.As for the food, everything tasted fresh, delicious, and perfectly satisfying! I had the chicken fried rice, the spicy crunch salmon roll, the pepper tuna avocado roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. All of the rolls tasted great-- the best one being the pepper tuna for me-- and the preparation and quality really allowed the flavors to shine. However, my favorite item turned out to be the chicken fried rice. The chicken tasted just a bit caramelized for a savory, umami-rich dish that was not at all greasy. I would definitely come back just for this fried rice!Overall, Lin's was definitely worth it with the reasonable prices justifying the portion sizes and quality of the food!“
“I Love, Love, Love Golden Chef. However, they recently got a new delivery guy and his attitude is horrible. I came here specifically to mention him. The owner is so kind— this delivery person simply doesn’t give off “Golden Chef” energy that she does. I hope she does something about his horrendous attitude.“
“LISTEN TO ME!! They have the BEST food in the Chinese community. I've ordered almost everything from them, and I've never been disappointed. Their rice is delicious, and fried chicken is on point, their General Tso chicken is the best, their shrimp broccoli is not to be f***** with. I mean, what can you really say oh, other than that they're the s***?“
“Kristy has her own sense of personality. Super Kristy remembers our community members orders just by looking at them. Love this Chinese Restaurant take out location.Thank you for Serving our Community. From our families, City and Private workers.“
“The picture is from after I started eating, but it was plated beautifully, was delicious. The music is quite loud so try not to sit next to the speakers.Service was great just a little hiccup where we were charged and given the wrong receipt for a different table. Other than that it's great and I recommend going there, all the food was great and nothing was too sweet or salty only just right!“
“Apperently the best General Tso Chicken in the Bronx. Everything made to be perfect. The price (around $8.00), the taste - flavorful combination of sweetness and spiciness, the meat dry and crispy, color is bright, even broccoli steamed good.Everything else is kind of lame. Ok, not lame, but very ordinary and how to be expected from the Chinese place from the Bronx. But General Tso Chicken. Totally coming back.“
“If I could give them 6 stars I would, they are great!!! Went there on a date with a lovely friend expecting the usual Kosher Chinese fare that I have had from LA to Pittsburgh to my hometown here on Long Island, NY. I came expecting the food to be the normal I have expected in an inexpensive (for Kosher that is) Chinese restaurant, OK to good. However this restaurant astounded me, it was different!!!The food was fabulous!!! We both had the 'Hot and Sour' soup, and it was impressive! The temp, was just right, not luke-warm as I have come to expect in many restaurants, and, not scaldingly hot, but just right! The spices were hot as they should be, but not too hot. As I said, I was amazed!!!Then for the mains, we had, Spicy Chicken and Curry Chicken. Again the spices were quite hot, but not too, at least for me. They were just wonderful, tasty, yet with a subtle delight. It is hard to express. And we both commented how the presentation of the food on the plates was 'picture perfect.'I would suggest you go and write your own experience! I live 30 miles on the other side of the NYC metro area where traveling can be a challenge all on its own, but for this restaurant in the Bronx, NYC, NY, Kai Fan, I will be returning!!!ps I only wish they were closer to me here on Long Island!!pss I was served by one of the owners, and an owner was on duty at the cash register! A great family run operation!!Dietary restrictions: It is Kosher!!!Parking: Parked across the street at 430 for $5. After 7pm it would have been FREE!!!“
“Been goin here for over 10 yrs * So far every dish I've had here been very good ... they are kind & polite even when busy.. I dont mind tipping delivery or in person they deserve it for Excellent food and service ..they repeat your order back so the food is made exactly how you like it .. so if u have allergies or just have preferences they will be very attentive to not add the ingredients or inform you that it's necessary for the dish so u may have to reconsider“
“I’ve been coming here 20+ years, and the food never disappoints! It’s been the same recipe since my childhood memories because the cook has been there that long. Awesome staff and food.My to go order:Chicken Broccoli with carrotsSpicy, light on the sauceVegetable fried or your choice of riceSometimes crispy friesNever fails to get lunch or dinner down the blockEnjoy!“
“Great service, friendly lady’s in the front, great foodRecommend this placeKid-friendliness: The 2 Ladys in the front that pick up the phone they are very friendly, every time I go in with my boyfriend they they tease him and say his order is $200 dollars lol, but they joking we know each other for long time, this is our #1 Chinese spot?“
“Never disappointed. When we get a hankering for tasty Chinese food, we go straight here!Has been in the neighborhood for decades actually. That tells you something...Chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, etc- all very satisfyingly delicious!“
“This is the Bronx's version of Asian Panda Express, cooked by Asian, made by Asian. Taste like Asian food should taste. This location is like a hole in a wall because you'd miss it if you dont look carefully.I'd say the food here is flavorful, if you have a strict/particular diet, you may not want to come here for food as they use prob like all Asian places, the same wok. It's not meant for a dine in place, there's only area to sit to wait for take outs.Food prices are quite nice for the amount of food you are given in NYC. Speciality are rice and noodle dishes. Highly recommend as a take out place!“
“This food too good. You can even call ahead to place your order. Everything i tried (mostly everything) is great. I like eating here on Saturdays cus sundays i cook big meals so on Saturday we have lunch and dinner ordered from here. No delivery but well worth picking it up. Im about to order now. Plus it helps a lot since it stays open really late“
“Get very busy on the weekends and some holiday and festivities get a little pricey. But overall nice and comfortable food.Vegetarian options: Variety of salad and greens.Parking: Free parking limited to 2 hours with a minimum spending of $10.Kid-friendliness: They have kids dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: First floor, no elevator required.“
“I had ordered over the phone and was told that my order would be ready in ten minutes. Unfortunately, that was not true because I gave them twenty minutes and the order was still not ready. After forty minutes, it was ready with no "mix up." The chicken fried rice was bland even though I asked for extra onions and bean sprouts. All and all, the service was friendly and the place was clean.“
“I LOVE the food here absolutely the best and the lady at the counter is always so helpful. Always great customer service when I walk in. Would not order from anywhere else. Fried rice is definitely a must have, would go out of my way to go here.“
“I love this place! They have been making food for me and my family since 2018 and they have always had good food, affordable prices, and quick delivery! Atmosphere wise, the restaurant isn't one you can eat inside because it's quite small but they make up for it with all the things I mentioned above. I hope the people reading this enjoy this place like me and my family do!“
“While I don't really think the food is super duper tasty it's definitely something that hits the spot when you need some American Chinese food. I give it five stars because every time I've been in this establishment I always feel very comfortable and welcome with the staff. I've never felt like they didn't really want me there buying food from them. They're always very friendly and I will continue to go to them for my little American Chinese treats.“
“I have been here THRICE. and it is so good. The ric eis someone beyond better than me normal spot I go to. The delivery doth arrive on time to my ... area. Honestly a good spot sometimes I come here after work at the FedEX office when I do consulting work there, etc. So very good. I would go again. thricely“
“My first try without seeing the menu. I ordered the common dishes.Chicken wings are very good , tasty, crispy not oily just perfect. The eggroll was a bonus for the order over 20.00 which was welcomely good, the skin was not too thick, crispy with right amount of filling. Those frying items were freshly cook not refrying. The large hot and sour soup was good ,only the cook was under salted it which was fine for people with high blood pressure, I added some salt and it was great with amount of crunchy bamboo shoot, tofu and mushroom and more. The large size chicken and broccoli was fair. It did not come with the traditional brown sauce or garlic sauce but pure oyster sauce over it. All that for $26.00 before tip. I ordered after 8:00PM the order arrived about more than 15minutes. I 'll try again but not the chicken & broccoli.Next t time I 'll remember to take the picture before eating .“
“Their food is good to me. Their Roast Pork Egg Foo Young and Pork Fried Rice n Chicken wings were good also. I think I'll try a new dish when I go back....It's in the hood and pass it every time I go to my 2nd job. They are nice and try to give you your food in a good time period. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the hood, but this one is a good one. They are always nice and it nice and quiet in there“
“I discovered the China Wok Restaurant 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my twins & I absolutely love this place!!! I live by 4 "So Call Good" Asian Restaurant/Place by I would rather drive 2.8 mile away to get food from here ANYTIME!!! I'm not rice eater anymore but my older kids tell me you can tell the rice is made fresh daily especially since where Puerto Rican & know the difference but for me I'm hooked on there house special Mei Fun (not sure if it's spelled right) but it's to die for & the WINGSSSSSS Oooooh Lord the Wings are Absolutely out of this world so crispy & juicy!!!! The best Top A Grade Wings hands down!!!!!“
“Everything we travel back to the Bronx we make a stop here to have a delicious family dinner. Everything on the menu is delicious and their drinks are on point!Kid-friendliness: My kids enjoyed the bread they bring out while we were waiting for our food. The server provided coloring activities to keep them busy and the food was so good everytime!“
“Wonderful place nice atmosphere. Lots of variety, kid friendly, and food for kids also. Vegen friendly is salad and fruits variety. Fresh deserts, mini cupcakes, sponge cake not overly sweet. Bathrooms are not clean. So would advise to either go to the bathroom before or go only unless you have to. Other issue you get one fork so use wisely. U have to request another and staff is usually not good about giving another one. Wait staff stand around waiting for clean up and sometimes ask for tips. It is overall a nice place to eat.Vegetarian options: Salads, and fruit are avaible.Parking: You have to pay for parking.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu typical French fries, pizza, etc.Wheelchair accessibility: Room for wheel chairs and scooters.“
“This place is amazing! I had the chili wontons and omg! The wonton is so juicy and the chili sauce is so tasty! Also had the fried chicken rice bowl Which was really good. The service is a bit slow because they're so busy. The ambiance is ok. No one actually sitting and eating. Luved it and can't wait to go back!“
